Keith Olbermann has just been fired by the cable network that took him in after the much higher-profile cable network he was previously on cut him loose. Current TV, which was co-founded by Al Gore, released a statement saying it was parting ways with the pundit , surprisingly citing a difference in values. The decision comes less than a year after Keith Olbermann was fired by MSNBC , then hired by Current to help energize the network’s primetime ratings. Current said in a statement this afternoon: “We created Current to give voice to those Americans who refuse to rely on corporate-controlled media and are seeking an authentic progressive outlet.” “We are more committed to those goals today than ever before.” “Current was founded on the values of respect, openness, collegiality, and loyalty to our viewers. Unfortunately these values are no longer reflected in our relationship with Keith Olbermann and we have ended it.” Current also announced today that it will be giving former New York Governor and CNN personality Eliot Spitzer a show in the network’s 8 p.m. hour.

Miley and Liam have been dating now for two years, however, and anonymous source do claim the pair talks about marriage someday. New single, ‘Chasing the Sun,’ is in ‘same vein as ‘Glad You Came,’ ‘ Tom Parker tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway The Wanted Photo: MTV News The Wanted will officially drop their U.S. debut album next month. They’ve been busy in the studio working on tracks to follow up their smash single, “Glad You Came.” And with so much enthusiasm coursing through America for boy bands , the guys are looking forward to launching this next phase in their careers. “You know, I think from the start when we were in the U.K. we got our first single, which was ‘All Time Low,’ and it set itself up,” Tom Parker told MTV News about the band’s control over their music. “And we all agree on a certain sound and ‘Glad You Came’ was probably as [far as] we went in terms of difference in sound, but we all kind of come to an agreement to keep it upbeat, usually.” Parker adds that when they do stray from that sound it doesn’t always work out. “We did a ballad and it wasn’t that great, if I’m honest with you,” he said. “We’ve got a new one called ‘Chasing the Sun,’ which is gonna go out to radio soon, so look out for it. It’s in the same vein as ‘Glad You Came’; it’s upbeat.” Now that they are knee-deep in getting their U.S. debut together, Jay McGuiness explains that despite the size of the group, the guys make decisions pretty easily. “We’re all pretty laid-back in coming to a decision that we all agree with,” he said. “We’re not gonna lie: Two years ago we were bitches to the record label, but now we’ve grown enough. We know what we’re doing now. We’re enjoying ourselves.” And that means that they are aiming to make something that will get American audiences pumped. Siva Kaneswaran added, “To be in the U.S. is amazing, but just as long as we go out there and be ourselves and the U.S. takes us as we are, we’re just coming over here to have a laugh.”

Director Gary Ross has some ‘not fully baked’ ideas about how to change things up for sequel. By Jocelyn Vena Jennifer Lawrence in “The Hunger Games” Photo: Lionsgate “The Hunger Games” owned the box office over the weekend, proving that fans of Suzanne Collins’ best-selling series were excited to see how director Gary Ross and his A-list cast would turn her work into an eye-catching big-screen sensation. With so much enthusiasm for part one of the trilogy, MTV News got some scoop about the next film in the franchise, “Catching Fire,” which picks up where “THG” left off. “The training was never, like, tough. It was intense, but it was fun. So I’m looking forward to the next bout of training,” Jennifer Lawrence told MTV News about part two, adding that she will even have a very different look for it. She joked, “For the second one, I will have a beard.” (Warning: Minor spoilers ahead!) With the latest round of the Hunger Games over and Katniss and her pal Peeta standing victorious, there’s rebellion under way against the Capitol. But that’s not the only upheaval. There’s a special edition of the Hunger Games announced that will raise the stakes once again for the two friends and everyone they know. Ross has some idea of what the next Games will look like. “The arena in the second book is tropical and the arena in [the first] book is forests, so that in and of itself will make for a different wardrobe on the part of the crew,” he explained. “In terms of the cinematic differences in the way I might shoot the movie, I shot this in a very specific way that’s very different than most franchises are shot, obviously, and that had a lot to do with the urgency of what’s going on and Katniss’ point of view,” he continued. “I have some ideas about how to do ‘Catching Fire’ slightly differently, but I don’t want to share them yet. Not because I’m being evasive, but just because they’re not fully baked. An emotional Michelle, who considers herself the mother of Sasha and Malia above everything else, said her parents instilled in her the values she passes on. They provided “absolute, complete, unconditional love … the notion that kids really don’t need anything but to know that their parents adore them.” Michelle Obama on Letterman She said she and the president have passed that trait onto their children: “Don’t make me cry: This isn’t Oprah!” she said. “It’s supposed to be Letterman!” Michelle Obama also discussed her recent incognito trip to Target, which was figured out when a woman asked her to help reach something on a high shelf. The 48-year-old, who stands 5’10”, said after she obliged, the grateful woman joked with her, “You didn’t have to make it look so easy!” “That was my interaction, and it felt so good!” she said.

Jennifer Lopez covers the April issue and inside you get a pretty good picture of J.Lo and the three main men in her life (soon to be ex Marc Anthony, manager Benny Medina and new boo Casper Smart). Check out the excerpts and photos below: On Her Relationship With Marc Anthony: Anthony peeks his head into the dressing room with his name on it and says, “Where is she?” He eyes the door across the hall and says to no one in particular, “She in here?” He puts his ear to the door and then gently raps on it with his knuckle. “Security,” he says with a devilish smirk, and then nothing. So he knocks harder. “Security!” When he hears that telltale giggle, a big grin spreads across his face, and he opens the door and slips inside. Lopez and Anthony are here today on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank for a taping of The Ellen DeGeneres Show to promote their new Latin talent show, ¡Q’Viva! The Chosen, which will premiere on Fox in early March. Lest you think it’s all smiles for the cameras but war behind the scenes, the two spend the next hour huddled in her dressing room, still friends after all these months. Indeed, in one of the clips from ¡Q’Viva! that they share with Ellen, the two of them bicker like, well, an old married couple, and Lopez cracks that they are the new Sonny and Cher, a knowing joke that grows more apt the further it sinks in. Seven years ago, at Lopez’s Vogue shoot, I noticed that Anthony hung around the set both days, drinking cans of beer and chain-smoking Newports. Lopez is a famous teetotaler. How is this going to work? I thought. When I mention this to her, she cracks up. “He’s still doing it! Look, we are total opposites that way. I’m used to that from growing up where I did. The men kind of drink beer and smoke cigarettes, and women kind of like . . . don’t. But those things were not the issue so much. It became about something else. Without going into detail . . . it’s just really, really sad. And look, we are still going through it, and it’s emotional sometimes and difficult. We’re still friends—and we’re parents. But it’s going to take time.” She pauses. “It’s tough. But for the most part, I feel very proud of the way we’re handling it. I really do. We are doing the best we can for the kids. What you saw today, on Ellen, it’s very dignified and trying to be above all the emotions and pain that come along with a divorce and a family breaking apart. This is grown-up stuff.
