Seen on the scene… 2016 A3C Hip Hop Festival Recap During last weekend’s A3C Hip-Hop festival artists and festival goers collided to celebrate Hip-Hop music and culture. Spread across Atlanta’s Loudermilk Center and Edgewood Avenue, the 12th annual fest kicked off with a “Welcome To Atlanta” reception honoring ATL innovators and legends Cee Lo and Killer Mike. Mike was given the A3C Social Impact Award for his commitment to equality, while Cee Lo was given the A3C Cultural Influencer Award for his musical career and contributions to fashion and culture. Later BOSSIP’s Deputy Editor Janee Bolden was featured on a “Women At Work: Entrepreneurship In Hip Hop” panel moderated by Shanti Das…. and other artists including Bun B…. and Master P had a n intimate sit-down. Soul pianist Robert Glasper and Bryan Michael Cox also chatted on a panel and recalled stories from their childhood… before playing Five Fingers of Death. Rae Sremmurd Reveal How Life Has Changed Since Sremmlife Success We couldn’t be happier to see Rae Sremmurd brothers Slim Jimmi and Swae Lee succeed! The duo held an album release dinner on Wednesday August 3rd to celebrate their upcoming project “Sremmlife 2” which drops next week on August 12th. The guys turned up onstage to hits “By Chance” and “Look Alive” while playing most of the new project for an audience of Atlanta media and tastemakers. Of course everyone in attendance was treated to a delicious meal served by Treesound co-owner and celebrity chef Mali Hunter. The event was sponsored by Courvoisier, Corona and of course Cholula Hot Sauce. Speaking of “hot sauce,” Swae Lee talked about helping put some in Beyonce’s bag this week as well when the brothers appeared on “The Breakfast Club” to talk about how their lives have changed since the release of their first project, how they deal with groupie encounters and dropping $20K on Gucci coats.
