Dirty Dog Diaries: Obama Cabinet Member Who Got Put On Blast By Mistress Via Billboards Tries To Stop Her Indie Film Exposé

Almost three years ago we posted the story of this woman, who put her ex-boyfriend on blast after he decided to reconcile with his wife following their 8 1/2 year relationship… It looks like she wasn’t nearly finished humiliating him. Woman Who Put Lover On Blast Via Billboard Makes Movie About Affair Via NY Daily News reports: Charles Phillips, the former president of Oracle Corp. and a member of President Obama’s Economic Advisory Board, sent the Harlem International Film Festival a cease-and-desist letter this week trying to block Thursday’s premiere of “The Glamorous Lie,” a documentary by his ex-mistress YaVaughnie Wilkins. Wilkins, who in 2010 vindictively plastered shots of her and Phillips on pricey billboards in Times Square, Atlanta and San Francisco after their 81/2-year relationship ended, didn’t let the letter scare her. Neither did the Harlem Film Festival. Nasri Zacharia, a festival spokesman, says the staff for the tiny, 100-person Maysles Cinema, set to screen the film at 7 p.m., was initially worried because the still-married Phillips’ lawyers also targeted the theater. “We were on hold for a while, and the theater where we are screening the world premiere was concerned, but we managed to alleviate the problems,” says Zacharia. He says Wilkins agreed to take responsibility for all liability and is “standing behind the film.” Wilkins tells Confidenti@l that her ex-beau’s “cease-and-desist letter is saying it’s an unauthorized documentary, but my lawyers are countering that he’s a public figure and I have a right to tell my story.” Wilkins is also in a civil court battle with the film’s director, who she claims is now in cahoots with Phillips. Her ex, she said, tried to buy the documentary to kill it. “If Charles thinks there is something in there that misrepresents our relationship, then he should do his own documentary and tell his own story,” says Wilkins. A spokesman for Phillips, who is now the CEO of software company Infor, did not respond to a request for comment. But back when he was the butt of Wilkins’ rage after he decided to reconcile with wife Karen, he said this: “I had an 81/2-year serious relationship with YaVaughnie Wilkins … The relationship with Ms. Wilkins has since ended and we both wish each other well.” Cry him a damn river… You do the crime, you pay the time, over and over again apparently. But seriously, we have to imagine that with all her resources there has to be something more constructive YaVaughnie could be doing with her time and money. Do you agree? Photo Credit: Sam Costanza

What Were You Thinking? Kyle Casey Leaves Harvard After Cheating Scandal

The choices we make… dictate the lives we lead. SMH It took less than two weeks for Harvard Basketball co-captain Kyle Casey to withdraw from school for the entire academic year after the shake down in a widespread academic cheating scandal. With Harvard’s fall enrollment deadline looming Tuesday, Casey withdrew from school and co-captain Brandyn Curry was expected to do the same, in an attempt to preserve their final year of eligibility. On Aug. 30, Harvard College announced in a letter that its administrative board was investigating allegations that approximately 125 undergraduates “may have committed acts of academic dishonesty, ranging from inappropriate collaboration to outright plagiarism, on a take-home final exam.” The exam was for Government 1310: Introduction to Congress, a spring 2012 class with an enrollment of 279. Sources said that Casey, Curry and one additional men’s basketball player are among a group of athletes and non-athletes whose cases are pending review. They are facing charges of academic dishonesty that could carry a one-year suspension from school. Amaker, who came to Harvard in 2007 after being dismissed from Michigan, has coached the Crimson to 20-win seasons in each of the past three years, including a 26-5 record in 2011-12. They were the early favorite to repeat as Ivy League champions next season, given that Casey, who also considered attending Stanford and Vanderbilt out of high school in Medway, Mass., was a potential contender for Ivy League player of the year and Curry was expected to be among the conference’s best point guards. For at least one season, Harvard will have to make do without them. Lesson learned?? Or do you think this was a harsh punishment? Source Images via Twitter

It’s A Vicious Cycle–America’s Next Top Model To Meth Addict!!

You all remember Jael from ANTM… the rough, spunky contestant on Cycle 8 who wanted to be the best! That awkward episode where Jay Emmanuel gave her attitude because she wasn’t “giving enough” during one of their pretend you’re dead photo shoots; faking like he didn’t know her friend had overdosed a few days before. Unfortunately for Jael, she’s been hittin’ that Meth for the last SIX years and she’s a full blown addict who’s ruined her face and body, which is covered in sores, and has rotted teeth in exchange for a beautiful smile. Peep the vid as her family appears on an upcoming episode of Dr. Phil holding an intervention in order to save her life. A former America’s Next Top Model contestant’s battle with crystal meth addiction is the subject of an explosive new episode of Dr. Phil…after becoming hooked on methamphetamine, Strauss, 28, soon became a helpless addict and in an episode airing on September 13, her family turns to Dr. Phil McGraw for an intervention. Ravaged in appearance and living on the streets, Strauss is hunted down by her brother, Brandon and mother, Debbie, who ask her to travel to Los Angeles to see Dr. Phil. Reluctantly she agrees. But after she finds herself on the stage, she runs out of the studio and into the Paramount parking lot. Realizing the extent of her issues, Dr. Phil follows her, noting: “This is the first time in 10 years I’ve come out here, to talk to you.” It isn’t the first time Strauss, who claims to be well-rounded, has struggled with her emotions on TV. Her family conceded that her friend’s overdose “really shook her,” but it wasn’t enough to wean Strauss off drugs herself. This is a sad story and we hope she can kick the habit! #ThrowbackThursdays * Slick Rick “The Moment I Feared” 1988

No one tells a story or has told a story quite like Slick Rick a.k.a. “The Ruler” , a.k.a. “Ricky Dee”. After being introduced to the game by Doug E. Fresh on the classic hits “La Di Da Di” & “The Show”, Slick Rick ventured off on his own to create on of the most famous albums in hip hop history. “The Great Adventures Of Slick Rick,” was in a class by itself. Ricky Dee’s storybook rhymes held your attention straight through the album with no guest features. Slick Rick’s imagination was unlike any other rapper in ’88, he told stories of the “Little Indian Girl”, referenced the Knight Rider car in “Kit (What’s The Scoop)” as well as the timeless classics, “Mona Lisa” & “Childrens Story”. Although he made songs about being “The Ruler” and expensive trunk jewels, he wasn’t too cool to not rap about keeping those jewels safe on his neck or landing in jail for trying to live the “fastlane lifestyle”. Why is it that Drug dealer rappers nowadays never get caught? Happy #ThrowbackThursday and enjoy some classic Slick Rick music! “The Moment I Feared” Listen Bonus Video “A Teenage love” Posted By Garnet Reid Follow on Twitter @Garnet_Reid Submit content to garnet@garnetreid.com Continue reading
