Robert Pattinsons Calls Out Courtney Love, Refers to Singer as a "Dick"

In a new interview with Great Britain’s The Daily Mirror , Robert Pattinson touches on a number of topics. We’ll get to those momentarily, but first props must be given to the actor for calling out Courtney Love. Asked about the rumor that he was up for the role of Kurt Cobain in an upcoming biopic, Pattinson said he never considered it – and then blasted Love for her negative remarks (when she referred to that possibility as “stupid”) in April. “You see all these comments, like from Courtney Love, saying ’What the f*ck! He’s totally wrong for it’, and I’m like, ’I f*cking said no, you d*ck!’ I didn’t get offered it. For one thing, I’m too tall, and I can’t sing like him, I’m nothing like him!’ It’s ridiculous.” You go, boy! Pattinson was also asked about similarities to Edward, along with his next movie, Bel Ami . Excerpts from the interview follow: On identifying with Edward : It’s changed a bit in this film. In the first two, I guess there was his feeling that you can’t relate to anyone, or no one can relate to you. I was like, ’I never want to talk to anyone’. I used to feel like that when I was younger. I’ve grown up now. On his next role : There’s something fun about Bel Ami, going from Edward to some guy who pretty much abuses women to get money out of them. Edward so wouldn’t approve – and I thought that was a funny irony. On other career aspirations : I want to produce a film. It would be so satisfying to turn up to work and not have to go into costume or make-up. You stand behind the monitor and don’t even have the responsibility of the director. On Kristen Stewart : I can’t wait to marry her. JUST KIDDING with that last one! Wanted to see if you were paying attention.

Illegal Sarah Palin defense fund must give back donations

A legal defense fund for former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was illegal and must repay nearly $400,000 to donors, according to a settlement with a state-appointed lawyer announced on Thursday. But Palin, the feisty former Republican vice presidential candidate who has become a fixture of the conservative Tea Party movement, probably violated a state ethics act without knowing she was doing so, independent counsel Tim Petumenos said. While governor, Palin faced some two dozen ethics complaints, which she said left her with a legal bill of more than $500,000. Her political action committee raised a fund to pay for her defense. A preliminary ruling by another independent counsel last year said the fund was illegal because it used her official position as governor to raise money for her personal gain. Petumenos confirmed the decision and said no such legal defense fund had ever been set up before for a state official in Alaska. Palin violated the ethics rules because she was a beneficiary of the fund but probably relied on bad advice from out-of-state lawyers to conclude it was above board, Petumenos said at a news conference. He added that Palin should have checked with the state attorney general before pursuing the fund. “It is the responsibility of every public official to make sure they are personally compliant with the (Alaska Ethics) Act,” he said. The deal requires Palin's fund to give back to donors $386,856 collected while she was in office. A further $33,546 collected after she resigned will not be affected by the deal. Palin, no longer a public official, has launched a new defense fund. She is now independently wealthy but her lawyer, Thomas Van Flein, told reporters he still believed she ran up the legal costs in her capacity as governor and so a new fund was justified. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE65O0AG20100625 added by: Stoneyroad

And though Diddy did talk about Biggie’s last day at a Paris press conference on Thursday, he told Bashir that he had talked about that topic enough in the past. “I decided that it was something that I just wasn’t really gonna be talking about anymore,” Diddy told the probing host about Biggie’s death. “It was in the past, and I’ve talked about it so much. I love him, I miss him, and he’s one of my best friends. Anna Paquin on Bisexual Announcement: D’uh!

In an April PSA, Anna Paquin came out as a bisexual . The True Blood cast member has since received a lot of praise from gay rights organizations and the LGBT community. But Paquin recently said that she doesn’t even see the big deal. It was her responsibility as a human being to speak out. “I’m not someone who endlessly talks about her personal life for no reason, but obviously, as someone who identifies as bisexual, those are issues I really care about – and frankly, I don’t see why everyone doesn’t care about them,” the actress told Zap2it, adding: “So when I was asked to participate in that PSA, it was just an obvious, ‘Well, of course I will.'” Paquin, who is engaged to True Blood co-star Stephen Moyer, continued: “It wasn’t like it was a big secret. It was just a cause I cared about and privately supported, but not one that I had ever had an opportunity to speak out about in a way that would be useful. Obviously I know that one person’s voice doesn’t necessarily do that much, but I just wanted to do my bit.” You gotta admire that, don’t you? The star doesn’t see herself as any kind of revolutionary. She simply wonders: How can any person with a heart sit idly by while the rights of others are infringed upon? We couldn’t agree more.

iPhone 4 expected in June 2010 Apple Conference

An annual developers’ conference hosted by Apple will start in June 7. During this conference, the company is expected to unveil the latest version of the iPhone. The event will run in San Francisco until June 11. The Apple spokeswoman declined to say who would be delivering the keynote this year because of the incident that had happened last year. The event in previous years has featured a keynote address given by Apple Chief Executive Steve Jobs. In 2009, Jobs was on a medical leave and so marketing head Phil Schiller took the responsibility and substituted on his behalf. Analyst expects the company to unveil the newest iPhone at this year’s conference, which is anticipated to be launched later this summer. The third-generation iPhone was unveiled at last year’s gathering, and went on sale less than two weeks later. The iPhone released in 2007 has become a hit to consumers. Apple sold a record of 8.75 million smartphones in its most recent quarter. Many anticipate the fourth-generation iPhone to have a new feature such as a front-facing camera. iPhone’s exclusive carrier in the U.S. is the AT&T, but analysts predict that the company will bring the device to carrier Verizon in the year 2011. Apple’s conference will also includes its first iPad development sessions. Apple released the 9.7-inch touchscreen tablet in the market earlier this month and it sold about 500,000 units in its first week. iPhone 4 expected in June 2010 Apple Conference is a post from: Daily World Buzz Continue reading

Noah’s Ark Found in Turkey

A team of fundamentalist Christians along with filmmaker Yeung Wing-Cheung that they are 99.9 % sure that they have found the real Noah’s Ark. It has been said that this would be the time to believe in all our myths. An evangelical exploration group claimed that they have found the Legendary and Biblically significant Noah’s Ark at the top of Turkey’s Mt. Ararat. The explorer’s claimed that they found seven wooden compartments amidst the snow and volcanic debris similar with the Bible’s original Ark’s position. The Book of Genesis, chapters 6-9, tells how God sends a great flood to destroy the earth because of man’s wickedness and because the earth is corrupt. God tells Noah, the righteous man in his generation, to build a large vessel to save his family and a representation of the world’s animals. God gives detailed instructions for the Ark and, after its completion, sends the animals to Noah. God then sends the Flood, which rises until all the mountains are covered, and most living things died, except the fish. Then “God remembered Noah,” the waters abate, and dry land reappears. Noah, his family, and the animals leave the Ark, and God vowed to never again send a flood to destroy the Earth. Noah’s Ark Found in Turkey is a post from: Daily World Buzz Continue reading
