Arkansas Couple Wins Lotto Twice In One Day Via Huffington Post An Arkansas couple who set out for a day of fishing came home with quite the fish story: Two winning lottery tickets, including a $1 million prize. The Arkansas Lottery Commission says Stephen and Terri Weaver were on a fishing trip when they stopped to buy the first ticket at T-Ricks convenience store in Pangburn, about 60 miles northeast of Little Rock. They stopped at the same store on their way home and bought another ticket. That first ticket turned out to be a $1 million winner. And the second one netted the couple another $50,000. The lottery commission says the Weavers claimed their cash Monday and that they plan to pay bills and invest in their retirement. The lotto Lord works in mysterious ways. Image via Arkansas Lotto

Holly Petraeus "Beyond Furious" With David Petraeus Affair, Spokesman Says

Holly Petraeus, David Petraeus’ wife, is reportedly incensed that the now-former CIA Director cheated on her with Paula Broadwell after 37 years of marriage. To say she’s furious would be an understatement, his former spokesman says. Holly has not commented on Petraeus’ resignation from the CIA , but former spokesman and family friend Ret. U.S. Army Col. Steve Boylan revealed what she’s feeling. “As you can imagine, she’s not exactly pleased right now,” Boylan told GMA, revealing that Petraeus told him that Holly was irate over the situation. “In a conversation with David Petraeus this weekend, he said, ‘Furious would be an understatement.'” “I think anyone that’s been put in that situation would probably agree. He deeply hurt the family.” Boylan also gave a timeline of the affair Petraeus had with Paula Broadwell, his biographer. The spokesman revealed that the relationship began several months after his retirement from the Army in August 2011 and ended four months ago. He said David Petreaus, whose affair was apparently revealed to the FBI by a second woman, Jill Kelley , recognizes the magnitude of his indiscretion. “He had a huge job and he felt he was doing great work and that is all gone now.” Petraeus knows “this was poor judgment on his part. It was a colossal mistake. … He’s acknowledged that,” Boylan said. His next move is anyone’s guess.

‘Side Effects’ Trailer: Steven Soderbergh Inches Toward Retirement With Pharmaceutical Thriller

Folks like Steven Soderbergh know it can be a long, long road to retirement. But there are still (at least) two titles to come, including Side Effects . With this year’s box office lauded strip down Magic Mike as well as his other 2013 shoot Behind the Candelabra on the make, his segue out from the director’s chair may linger a year or two. There are promo obligations post-post production after all… And retirement is proving to be good business, anyway. After cashing in with $130 million for this year’s The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel , a second one is in the offing . Maybe after Soderbergh is finished with these, he can really embrace the retirement thing with a Best Exotic Marigold Hotel 3 ? Starring Rooney Mara, Channing Tatum, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Jude Law (many of whom are Soderbergh-vets), Side Effects revolves around a young woman who relies on prescription drugs to deal with anxiety as her husband heads home from prison. As might be expected, there’s also more going on as the trailer suggests, with the pulse of anxiety hitting a crescendo. The film is due out February 8th. Thoughts, Movieliners? Should Soderbergh cancel his retirement plans?

Actor Bob Hoskins To Retire Following Parkinson’s Diagnosis

U.K. born actor Bob Hoskins said Wednesday he is retiring following a diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease. A representative announced the actor’s retirement. His career spanned four decades, most recently appearing in Snow White and the Huntsman . “Bob Hoskins wishes to announce that he will be retiring from acting, following his diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease last autumn,” his representative said in a statement. “He wishes to thank all the great and brilliant people he has worked with over the years, and all of his fans who have supported him during a wonderful career. Bob is now looking forward to his retirement with his family, and would greatly appreciate that his privacy be respected at this time.” Hoskins received a Best Actor Oscar-nomination in 1987 for his starring role in Neil Jordan’s crime-drama Mona Lisa . He won the BAFTA and a Golden Globe nomination for that role in addition to wins ranging from Cannes to the Boston Society of Film Critics and the European Film Awards. He also received nods the following year for his role in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) and later for parts in Made in Dagenham (2010), Mrs. Henderson Presents (2005), Twenty Four Seven (1997) and The Street (2006). George Lucas Makes An Impact With Red Tails George Lucas is all the way down with the brown… George Lucas believes his big-budget movie “Red Tails” about the famed Tuskegee Airmen moved the ball forward for films starring or created by African-Americans in Hollywood, but didn’t change the game. “It had an affect on a lot of kids and adults. Now it’s the one thing that everyone comes up to me and says ‘thank you’ for. I’m proud of that,” he told us at the Fostering a Legacy benefit Saturday evening in East Hampton for singer Ne-Yo’s Compound Foundation, which supports kids in foster care. Lucas, who has three adopted children, was honored at the benefit for his positive impact on young adults. The movie, which took Lucas more than 20 years to bring to theaters and was produced with $58 million of his own money, raked in $50 million at theaters, surpassing Hollywood’s expectations. “We didn’t get to a point when they said, ‘Oh let’s just do black movies.’ But every time you poke ’em, it makes an effect.” said Lucas, who attended the benefit with girlfriend Mellody Hobson. The director announced his retirement earlier this year to focus on making smaller “hobby films,” but told us it will also leave more time for Hobson. Awww, how sweet. This granny’s ganja wasn’t for glaucoma, turns out she might have been the biggest pot dealer in town … Darlene Mayes was arrested in her small town on Oklahoma for possession of drugs and illegal guns. The 73-year-old woman is believed to have been the town’s biggest drug dealer: Her operation went up in smoke this week, when police entered her home and found 4 pounds of pot and $276,000 cash. Police found $15,000 bundles of cash stashed away in the home. Mayes initially told police the money was part of her retirement fund. Police also say she was packing a semiautomatic pistol and a revolver. Investigators say her alleged pot-dealing network spanned four states, from Tulsa, Okla., to Arkansas, Kansas, and Missouri. Police believe she supplied up to 40 percent of pot in that area. As the mastermind, police believe she had a network of dealers, including her son Jerry who was also arrested. Law enforcement expert Brad Garrett says harmless looking seniors can sometimes be the most efficient drug dealers. “It doesn’t surprise me that someone this age would be actively involved in marijuana distribution because there’s just too much money to be made.
