Kim Kardashian: Ditching Friends in Favor of "Money, Labels and Kanye," Source Claims

You may want to sit down for this one: Kim Kardashian will reportedly do anything for a buck. We know, it’s shocking news, but apparently the same  Kim Kardashian who gets naked for magazine covers  on a regular basis (even though she already has more cash than her grandkids could ever spend) is totally obsessed with stacking funds. In fact, a friend of Kim’s says the big-bootied reality star is so single-mindedly focused on her bank account and her equally money-hungry husband that she’s completely cut ties with some longtime friends. “She is not the same person anymore and no one wants to be around her,” a source tells Radar Online. “She ditched her friends long ago, and since she got together with Kanye, she has become the type of person that she has always told everyone she would NOT become.” “It is really sad because she was such a huge part of her close circle of friends, and now her life is just money, labels, North, and Kanye, Kanye, Kanye.” Call us crazy, but we’re gonna go ahead and side with Kim on this one. Claims that Kim has changed since marrying Kanye have been circulating since she walked down the aisle, and they usually originate with unidentified friends who swear that she’s has been brainwashed by Yeezy. If that’s the case, it’s a total bummer. But this new insider’s argument is that her 34-year-old friend doesn’t party anymore because she devotes all her time to her family and her work. Granted, it’s not like Kim’s working double shifts at Wal-Mart to put food on the table, but she’s still committing herself to providing a certain lifestyle for her daughter.  If this woman is really shocked that Kim is overly fixated on her family and finances, we’re gonna go ahead and assume that she’s never seen a single episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians .   Do a little research on your supposed BFF, lady. 18 Naked Photos of Kardashian Family Members 1. Nude Kim Kardashian Kim Kardashian started it all when she stripped down for Playboy in 2007. She later said she regretted this naked spread, but her birthday suit photos in 2014 were a funny way of showing that.

Alan Thicke on Bill Cosby: He’s a Bad Boy!

Alan Thicke thinks Bill Cosby is going through something a lot worse than mere growing pains. The veteran actor has joined the chorus of celebrities who have come down hard on Cosby, as the legendary comedian stands accused of sexual assault by over two dozen women. “When there’s that much smoke, there must be some fire,” Thicke said during an interview with The Toronto Star at the Television Critics Association’s press tour in Pasadena. “I’m sure that Bill must have been a bad boy. I think the issue will be to what degree.” Director Judd Apatow, meanwhile, thinks Cosby should be in jail for his alleged actions against a myriad of women; while Lena Dunham sort of compared the allegations regarding  Cosby to the Holocaust . Back in the 1970s, Thicke produced Cos , Cosby’s 1970s variety show on ABC. “In my history with Bill, I saw absolutely nothing of the controversy around him now,” Thicke sayd. “When I first met Bill, his show was in some trouble ratings-wise, and ABC brought me in to try and get the ratings up.” Cosby issued a statement last week in response to this ongoing scandal, telling fans that he’s “far from finished” and that he plans to keep touring despite protests and an onslaught of rape charges (of the non-legal variety). He performed in Turlock, California on Sunday night and received a standing ovation. 15 Celebrity Scandals That Rocked 2014 1. Stephen Collins Admits to Molesting Children Stephen Collins gained fame for playing the Reverend Eric Camden on wholesome family series 7th Heaven. In real life, Collins has been accused of molesting several children, and has confessed to at least one sexual assault.

Update: Fourth San Jose State Student Charged With Hate Crime After Locking Up Black Roommate Like A Dog

Welcome to AmeriKKKa folks! Fourth San Jose State Student Charged With Hate Crime Via Reuters reports: A fourth student at a California university has been suspended for being involved in alleged racially motivated abuse of a black student , an occurrence that has led to student protests on campus. The suspension of the fourth student, which followed suspensions and misdemeanor hate crime charges against three other students, was disclosed by San Jose State University President Mohammed Qayoumi in a statement late Friday. Qayoumi did not identify the fourth student or say whether he might also face charges. The victim in the incident that led to student protests at the campus in Northern California has not been named. Logan Beaschler and Colin Warren, both 18, and Joseph Bomgardner, 19, have been charged with misdemeanor hate crime and battery against their black roommate, Santa Clara County Deputy District Attorney Erin West said. The three freshmen students are accused of using racist terms to refer to the young man, displayed Nazi symbols and a Confederate flag in their suite and once tried to put a U-shaped bicycle lock around his neck, causing him minor injuries when he fought back, authorities said. Qayoumi said he met Friday with the Reverend Jethroe Moore, president of the San Jose/Silicon Valley Chapter of the NAACP and agreed take several steps to address the issue. They will hold a news conference Monday on the criminal charges, host a campus forum on the topic in the first half of December and offer a lecture series next spring on diversity and tolerance. “While these efforts move forward, we are undertaking a comprehensive review of SJSU’s student code of conduct,” Qayoumi said. “Our goal is including race-based misconduct in existing zero-tolerance student conduct policies.” What happened to the “post-racial” America we’re supposed to be living in?

ABC’s Tahman Bradley: Beck Rally’s ‘Crowd Was Almost All White, Giving Critics an Open Door’

On Sunday’s Good Morning America, during a report which focused on FNC host Glenn Beck’s “Restoring Honor” rally and the hostile reaction from civil rights activists like the Reverend Al Sharpton, ABC correspondent Tahman Bradley asserted that “the crowd was almost all white, giving critics an open door.” After noting that Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s niece – Dr. Alveda King – was a speaker at the rally, Bradley noted the racial makeup of Beck’s event: TAHMAN BRADLEY: Dr. King’s own niece, Alveda King, spoke. DR. ALVEDA KING, NIECE OF DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING, JR.: We need to rebuild America. BRADLEY: An obvious effort to try to show inclusion on this historic day, but the crowd was almost all white, giving critics an open door. REVEREND AL SHARPTON, CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST: We’re not giving them this day. This is our day, and we ain’t giving it away. And similar to reports on the rally that aired on GMA on Friday and Saturday, ABC used such labels as “controversial” and “conservative” to label Beck or his followers, but did not use ideological labels to refer to Sharpton, nor was the left-wing activist’s own controversial history mentioned.  In the opening teaser, substitute host Ron Claiborne asserted that the rally was “led by controversial conservatives Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin.” Below is a complete transcript of Bradley’s report from the Sunday, August 29, Good Morning America on ABC, with critical portions in bold : RON CLAIBORNE, IN OPENING TEASER: And rallying cry: Thousands descend on the Washington Mall for a rally led by controversial conservatives Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin . Is this new conservative movement gaining new momentum? … BIANNA GOLODRYGA: Turning to politics now and the competing rallies in Washington, D.C., on the anniversary of Martin Luther King’s “I Have a Dream” speech Saturday. At one, Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin. At the other, the Reverend Al Sharpton. Tahman Bradley was there. TAHMAN BRADLEY: Conservatives and Tea Party supporters came to the National Mall in droves, a rally cry from Fox News commentator Glenn Beck.

Open Thread: Guess Who Said It

See if you can guess who this stalwart defender of school choice is: I’m not anti-charter schools. I’m pro-good charter schools. We want what’s best for our kids, even if it doesn’t follow the liberal status quo… I think there’s a new leadership in the black community, and we’re not wedded to the [teachers] unions calling our shots… I think accountability must be part of what we do to make sure kids have the education they need to close the achievement gap. Any idea? Take a guess, then look below the fold. Answer: Al Sharpton . I know, that’s what I said, too. Any thoughts on the Reverend’s newfound political independence?

A New Mission for Liberty: Ending the Insane Drug War

In 2006, long-time readers may recall that I published an article entitled, “The Bicameral Universe: A Theory of Everything in One Blog Post“. I wrote the article after a flash of revelation while I was under the influence of Cannabis. Whatever any particular person may think of my article, I wrote it as a genuine expression of opinion, having read and thought deeply about the issues of God, man, religion, science, and the Anthropic Principle for many years. The article outlines my personal understanding of God and my place as a free agent in the multiverse. A year later, in 2007, I moved to the state of Hawai`i, where I met one Reverend Roger Christie, the founder of the Hawai`i Cannabis Ministry. On September 8, 2007, I was ordained as a Cannabis Minister in his church. For the past 10 years, Rev. Christie has operated the Ministry openly — one might even say “loudly”. The Ministry is located on the second floor of the Moses Building on Kamahameha Ave in downtown Hilo, right across from Hilo Bay. Indeed, everyone in this part of Hawai`i is entirely aware of the THC-Ministry, because of its central location and because of a large banner that has been hanging for years from the second floor window, declaring, “We Use Cannabis Religiously, And You Can Too!” Hawai`i Cannabis Ministry There is nothing subterranean in the way this Ministry was operated. The Ministry has existed as a transparent part of this community for many years. In fact, in 2008, Roger Christie ran for mayor of the County of Hawai`i as a Cannabis activist. I ought to know: I was a campaign director and webmaster. I attended campaign strategy meetings, and was present when Roger registered with the county as an official Mayoral candidate in the Summer of 2008. Needless to say, we were not successful in getting Rev. Christie elected to the highest office in Hawai`i County, but it was sure fun to try. Over the past two years, Rev. Christie has continued to operate the Hawai`i Cannabis Ministry openly, and the Ministry banner has continued to fly above Hilo Bay for all to see. But on July 8, 2010, everything changed. On that day, the DEA along with a dozen other government agencies descended on the Ministry offices and arrested Reverend Christie, along with 13 members of his flock, charging them with a slew of federal drug trafficking crimes. Details of the arrest have been documented by the Associated Press and by other local news organizations. At this time, Reverend Christie is being held without bail in a federal detention center in Honolulu. He has been appointed a public defender, and his trial has been set for September 8, 2010. Since the arrest, I have contacted our local chapter of the ACLU in an attempt to garner their interest in defending Rev. Christie and the other 13 members of the Ministry currently under federal indictment. For my part, while I am a member of the Ministry and have an interest in pro-Cannabis political activism, I am not now, nor have I ever been involved in the production or distribution of Cannabis. I am an activist, a writer, a thinker. But I have no problem defending the idea that smoking Cannabis is a legitimate spiritual activity that can bring practitioners closer to God and the ultimate meanings of life. Having said all of this, I can no longer stand idly by while my pastor — a man I know to be genuine, simple and honest — is arrested and railroaded by an out-of-control federal authority. Going forward, this publication will lend its support to the defeat of this irrational war on Cannabis, and will expose the damage it has caused to innocent men and women everywhere. MSNBC’s Contessa Brewer Complains About Blogs Pointing Out Her On-Air Gaffes

In part two of her interview with TVNewser editor Kevin Allocca on MediaBistro.com’s Media Beat , MSNBC anchor Contessa Brewer discussed a incident last year in which she mistakenly introduced Reverend Jess Jackson as Al Sharpton: “…those things make me crazy…. I really hate that something like that can paint your whole career.” Brewer specifically called out blogs for reporting the gaffe: “…when I was younger in my career, if I had made a mistake like that, there were no blogs to keep it perpetuity.” Allocca replied: “Are you looking at me? I do have a blog that keeps things in perpetuity.” Brewer responded: “Whether you do or not, there will be someone else to pick up that slack, so I won’t hold it against you in particular.” The TVNewser blog did indeed report the incident on October 21, 2009, as did NewsBusters .                          Brewer explained: “…the best thing I can do at the point is just to apologize and the Reverend has been very gracious and accepted my apology.” She then added how the gaffe “turned into a great opportunity to develop a relationship with someone that I admire,” referring to a subsequent meeting with Jackson. While discussing the issue with Allocca, Brewer declared: “I’m the final gate keeper, I’m the last person to try and make sure that the facts are right, that what we’re moving forward and we’re putting out there is, most importantly, factually correct.” That has not always been the case with Brewer. In August of 2009 she fretted over “racial overtones” of “white people showing up with guns” at anti-ObamaCare protests but failed to mention one such man she cited was actually black. During the first part of the Media Beat interview, Brewer described her MSNBC audition as “like a Marine Corps obstacle course” and criticized “difficult” guests that “come on with an agenda.” Here is a transcript of the second part of the Media Beat interview:   KEVIN ALLOCCA: And speaking of spending a lot of time on air, when you’re on air a lot, it’s live television, there are mishaps and – that happen. CONTESSA BREWER: Really? ALLOCCA: Yeah. And there have been some that have happened with you and I’m wondering – you know, I’m speaking, for example, you know, recently, not that recently, but the Jesse Jackson Al Sharpton incident that happened. [BEGIN CLIP] CONTESSA BREWER: Joining me now to talk about this and the nation’s real problem of joblessness, the Reverend Al Sharpton. What’s your reaction to hearing someone say, ‘you know, when it comes to income inequality, all’s well, the rising tide floats all boats?’ JESSE JACKSON: I’m Reverend Jesse Jackson. BREWER: Right, I don’t – you know, I’m so sorry, the – the script in front of me said Reverend Al Sharpton. I’m looking at your face, I know who you are, Reverend Jackson, we all do. I’m sorry.         [END OF CLIP] ALLOCCA: Do you feel like those kind of gaffes get – get more attention from you than other people or do you feel like it’s sort of standard for the industry? BREWER: I don’t know, because I don’t Google everybody else, but I do Google myself, and yes, I think that I get a lot of attention for that. And the reason why those things make me crazy is because, you know, this is what I was saying about juggling, this job is really about how many balls do you have in the air at once. And when something shows up in the Teleprompter that’s wrong, I’m the final gate keeper, I’m the last person to try and make sure that the facts are right, that what we’re moving forward and we’re putting out there is, most importantly, factually correct. And in that case, I missed it, I didn’t see it, didn’t catch it, didn’t realize I’d said it. And once it became very obvious that I had said it, the best thing I can do at the point is just to apologize and the Reverend has been very gracious and accepted my apology. And actually, his – it’s turned into a great opportunity to develop a relationship with someone that I admire and I think he’s – he always brings an interesting perspective on current events. The part that is still a bitter pill to swallow, I really hate that something like that can paint your whole career with ‘you don’t know what you’re talking about. You don’t know who you’re talking to.’ I hate that. And you know, when I was younger in my career, if I had made a mistake like that, there were no blogs to keep it perpetuity. ALLOCCA: Are you looking at me? BREWER: Well, I’m just- ALLOCCA: I do have a blog that keeps things in perpetuity, but- BREWER: I’m just – whether you do or not, there will be someone else to pick up that slack, so I won’t hold it against you in particular. ALLOCCA: Well, thank you for that. BREWER: You’re welcome.
