Is this how they do the kids in St. Louis??? 8-Year-Old Girl Handcuffed And Jailed For 2 Hours After Tantrum At School An 8-year-old elementary school student in St. Louis got an unexpected and uncommon punishment after she threw a temper tantrum at school that resulted in police officers cuffing her hands and feet before reportedly taking her to sit in a jail cell for two hours. via KMOV News An 8-year-old girl was handcuffed and held by Alton Police for two hours after throwing a tantrum at school. Jmyha Rickman was hauled in the back of a police squad car. Her guardian said she was treated like a criminal, all 70 lbs. of the young girl. Rickman’s ordeal began at Love Joy Elementary School late Tuesday morning when she apparently had a bad tantrum. At some point, school officials called the Alton Police to handle the situation. Rickman said her hands were cuffed behind her back and the police would not allow her to get her coat. “Her eyes were swollen from her crying and her wrists had welts on them,” said Rickman’s guardian, “They cuffed her feet too and she asked to use the restroom several times and was ignored.” Alton Police have disputed some of the family’s claims and said the child was put in a juvenile detention room with supervision. Police said they received a call from the school and said a child was out of control, tearing up two classrooms. The police officer believes he took appropriate action. This is out of control. What would you do if your school-aged child came home and told you he/she had spent two hours in jail wearing handcuffs for acting up at school?

It is an impressive feat indeed, with Snape having overcome heavy hitters and fan favorites Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger and Harry Potter himself. MTV News was lucky enough to present the fancy World Cup trophy to Alan Rickman, the man responsible for bringing life and suspense to the complex character, at Monday’s New York premiere of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.” “You’re lying, aren’t you?” Rickman said upon learning the news of Snape’s victory. “I gotta get this on the plane tomorrow?” he joked. “Well, thank you, and it doesn’t weigh nothing,” he added, commenting on the prize’s weight. “Is it chocolate, I hope? Thank you very much.” When asked what the victory means to him, Rickman took it seriously and further thanked the character’s fans for recognizing the many aspects of Snape’s magical journey. “It’s a vote for ambiguity and things where you don’t quite know how they’re going to turn out,” he said of Snape’s is-he-evil-or-good story line. “And also, it’s [Snape’s] values that you can’t talk about without ruining the film, but things like courage and determination and loyalty and love, actually.” “Thank you,” Rickman reiterated before heading into the premiere. “I appreciate it; that’s an American thing.” Rupert Grint, whose Ron Weasley was our second-place finisher, was not surprised to learn that Snape triumphed over his character. In fact, he had predicted it. “I knew it,” he said with a smile when we broke the news to him. “It’s the right choice,” he admitted.
