Happy 22nd Birthday, Kristen Stewart!

With ‘On the Road,’ ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ and ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2,’ it looks like 22 may be KStew’s biggest year yet. By Fallon Prinzivalli Kristen Stewart Photo: Michael Caulfield/ Getty Images That’s right, “Twilight” fans, the actress who plays one of our favorite heroines turned 22 on Monday (April 9)! The past year brought Kristen Stewart plenty to be proud of with the incredible success of “Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” and her upcoming year is looking to be even greater. This summer, Stewart takes on a different role from the accident-prone Bella Swan in “Snow White and the Huntsman,” where she will battle for her life as Snow White. With her shield and sword, Stewart teams up with the Huntsman ( Chris Hemsworth ) to rid their kingdom of the wicked Queen Ravenna ( Charlize Theron ). And while Theron’s and Stewart’s characters may not get along, Theron had nothing but “mad love” for the actress when wishing Stewart a happy birthday. Theron said, “Dude, happy frickin’ birthday. You’re awesome. I feel honored to know you. And just keep rocking, man. You’re amazing. Mad love.” The “Arrested Development” actress signed off by blowing Stewart a kiss. Hemsworth also had a birthday message for Stewart, saying, “Hey Kristen, happy bloody birthday! Have a great day. Lots of love.” Next up in the starlet’s grand 22nd year is “On the Road,” the film adaptation of Jack Kerouac’s highly praised novel. Stewart plays 16-year-old Marylou, the new wife of Dean Moriarty with an affinity for marijuana. The film will show yet another diverse side to Stewart’s acting abilities that will no doubt attract new fans who didn’t board the “Twilight” train. And for those of us who were not only aboard that train, but conducting it, in November we’ll see Stewart return as Bella Cullen in the “Twilight Saga” finale, “Breaking Dawn — Part 2.” We were already treated to a short, but very sweet, “Breaking Dawn” trailer sneak peek last month that has the fanbase already buzzing. And with all that KStew has planned this year, it sounds like that buzz is only going to get louder. What KStew movie are you most excited to see this year? Leave your comment below! Fergie And Josh Duhamel Don’t Want Kids ‘This Second’

‘But we want to have a family, so that is in the cards,’ singer tells MTV News. By Christina Garibaldi Fergie Photo: MTV News Now that Fergie has some extra time on her hands since the Black Eyed Peas announced they were on an indefinite hiatus , the singer is now focusing on the important things. No, not working on a solo album or judging “The X Factor” ; she’s concentrating on spending time with her husband of three years, Josh Duhamel . The “Glamorous” singer married the “Transformers” star back in 2009 after five years of dating, which, by Hollywood standards, is an impressively lengthy marriage. So what’s their secret? Well, according to Fergie it’s quite simple. “We like each other, we like hanging out together, we have fun,” Fergie told MTV News last week. “We have fun in the kitchen cooking and singing silly songs, not to give too much away, not going any further than that, but we have a good time together, and it’s nice to get to have that quality time. We enjoy it.” Now that Fergie and Duhamel will be spending much more time together, many are wondering if they plan on starting a family. “It’s not happening yet, I can tell you that definitely,” Fergie said. “But we want to have a family, so that is in the cards, but it’s just not this second.” In the meantime, Fergie is spending her downtime concentrating on her shoe line and fragrances and visiting her husband on set. “I got to go to his set for his movie that he’s been filming, where he has the mohawk, ‘Scenic Route,’ ” Fergie said. “So I’m very thankful for that film, for giving him a mohawk, because I’m quite enjoying it right now.” Fergie is no stranger to starring in movies of her own. The singer appeared in “Nine” and “Poseidon” and isn’t ruling out the possibility of one day getting back on the big screen. “I would love to,” Fergie said of wanting to do another film. “It’s going to be when I have the time and the energy and really have that commitment to something, but right now, I’m just enjoying the break. I’m open, I’m open for future things, I’m just planting my feet down. Eight years of being on the road, and now I’ve been off the road, what, five months? And I’m still traveling back and forth, New York, different places. I’m enjoying this time of just being home for that long of a period. But yeah, film definitely in the future, but like I said, no plans right now.” Do you think Fergie should do another movie? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Fergie

Ultra Music Festival’s ‘Best Of Bass’ Pre-Party: Smog Vs. Basshead

Miami’s Mekka hosts 12th Planet, Pendulum, Drop the Lime and more. By Akshay Bhansali 12th Planet Photo: Tim Mosenfelder/ Getty Images MIAMI — Nestled in a series of rooms at Mekka downtown, Smog vs. Basshead, a party conceived by bass-music champions from L.A. and Miami, on Thursday night again realized a frenzied hands-in-the-air steamfest. For the third year in a row, hundreds of partygoers screamed their lungs out, pumping their arms to the warbles and drum and bass. For all the talk of dubstep and drum and bass being mostly underground, judging by the event’s attendance, the genre is booming — and pioneers like 12th Planet (born John Dadzie), a 13-year California bass veteran and Smog label head, couldn’t be prouder. “It started off as a party at the White Room, and Basshead is a label based out of Miami,” 12th explained to MTV News after his set. “The label actually put out my first dubstep release, so we were kind of always routed together, and we just decided to join forces because, being from California, it’s hard to break into other markets. “We got the opportunity to work in Miami, and the first show was a hit. And the second show, last year, was the biggest Smog vs. Basshead. And then this year, just as many people. So, I’m totally excited — totally stoked.” The world SVB creates bears a comparison to the large-scale EDM event taking place a few blocks away. While the bass get-together might not reach the scale of the Ultra Music Festival , a variety of artists gathered for a series of fiery performances, taking fans into day-break. “It’s just five room of bass — straight up!” 12th proclaimed. SVB featured 16bit, Noah D, Flinch, Jaun Basshead and more. U.K. bass aggregator, feeder and video-sharing community UKF boasted a Pendulum DJ set, Zeds Dead and Kaon Sound. The Trouble & Bass room had Drop the Lime, AC Slater and Toddla T. The Metalheadz room was headlined by Goldie & Bailey. “All these guys making great, great music. We even had Foreign Beggars come down,” 12th said about his former tourmates, an electronic hip-hop collective that recently caught the eye of deadmau5. “They’ve never even played in Florida. I think that is the appeal of this party: You are going to hear the best of bass music.” Miami Music Week is going down, and MTV News is on the ground! Is Fergie Working On A Solo Or Black Eyed Peas Album?

‘My brain’s not really there right now,’ Fergie tells MTV News of her musical hiatus. By Christina Garibaldi Fergie of Black Eyed Peas Photo: MTV News The Black Eyed Peas have certainly been enjoying their much-deserved break. Back in November, BEP announced they were going on an indefinite hiatus following three years on the road in support of their albums The Beginning and The E.N.D. MTV News caught up with Fergie on Thursday (March 22) in New York, and she couldn’t be happier being off the road and spending some time at home. “I love being on break. I’m getting to do things I really didn’t have the capacity to do on tour,” Fergie said at the Voli Light Vodka Brunch. “I get more structure at home, I get more time with family, with my husband, with my dogs. I’m still cleaning out my closet, getting to decorate my house, just nesting. I love it.” Fergie has been keeping herself busy, though. Even though she won’t be a judge on “The X Factor,” the singer is set to release her third fragrance and is working on her shoe line. “I’m more focusing on my other things, like my shoe line, I’m designing for that. I’m really getting to work from home, and I’m loving it,” Fergie said. “Having all these creative juices flowing into more girly things and visual and things like that for me.” The last time the Peas took a break, Fergie released her first solo album, The Dutchess. The album produced three #1 singles: “London Bridge,” “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “Glamorous.” Yet this time around, Fergie isn’t very eager to have the spotlight all to herself. “I’m always writing, but there’s no current plans for a solo record or a Black Eyed Peas record. I was on tour for eight years. My brain’s not really there right now,” Fergie said. “It’s kind of just a machine that kept on moving with no signs of stopping. Finally, it’s break time.” The other members of the Black Eyed Peas have been keeping busy on personal projects as well, will.i.am is continuing to work on his next solo album, #WillPower, and will make an appearance on Justin Bieber ‘s upcoming album, Believe. Taboo is working on his own solo project and heading overseas for the Ultramagnetic DJ Experience tour, and apl.de.ap will reportedly focus on being an education ambassador in the Philippines. Shannon Magrane Has One Bad Day On ‘American Idol’

Magrane becomes the second ‘Idol’ booted this week after her version of ‘One Sweet Day’ fails to land her a save from the judges. By Adam Graham Shannon Magrane on “American Idol” Photo: Fox It was anything but “One Sweet Day” for Shannon Magrane, as the 16-year-old “pride of Tampa” was sent packing on Thursday’s (March 15) episode of “American Idol.” With her elimination, Magrane missed the opportunity to go on the road with the “Idol” summer tour. Her version of Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day,” which received decent marks from the judges on Wednesday’s performance episode , landed her dead last following America’s votes. Magrane was given a chance to sing for her life to be the recipient of the judges’ save, but her reprise of “One Sweet Day” was not enough to sway the judges. She became the second contestant eliminated this week, following Jermaine Jones’ exit on Wednesday , after executives discovered he had several warrants out that he failed to disclose. Though it’s largely thought to be the ladies’ year on “Idol,” Thursday’s episode saw an all-female bottom three. Along with Magrane, Elise Testone and Erika Van Pelt also found themselves facing elimination. Testone, who received a welcome attitude check and recovered from a near-disastrous performance the week prior, was the first let back to safety by host Ryan Seacrest. In addition to Testone and Van Pelt, the other “Idols” who will be hitting the road this summer are Colton Dixon, Skylar Laine, Joshua Ledet, Deandre Brackensick, Phillip Phillips, Hollie Cavanagh, Heejun Han and Jessica Sanchez. In defending Sanchez, who stole the show last week with her version of Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” but was brought slightly back down to earth this week with her screamy version of Gloria Estefan’s “Turn the Beat Around,” mentor Jimmy Iovine said, “If she goes home, we should all go home.” Also during the show, Tommy Hilfiger was introduced as the contestants’ “image adviser.” The fashion icon will work with them to help “shape them toward stardom,” he explained. Demi Lovato also appeared and performed her latest single, “Give Your Heart a Break,” while Daughtry was on hand to debut the band’s new single, “Out of My Head.” Do you agree with America’s decision to send home Shannon Magrane? Demi Lovato Documents Recovery In MTV’s ‘Stay Strong’

‘I want people to know that we all have personal strength and can lean on each other,’ singer says about MTV special, airing March 6. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Lovato in the “Stay Strong” trailer Photo: MTV News & Docs Demi Lovato is giving fans an insider view of what life’s been like for her since leaving a treatment center last year, documenting it for the MTV special “Demi Lovato: Stay Strong,” debuting Tuesday, March 6, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. The special will follow the singer in her most private moments, as she deals with her very public recovery from personal issues, including an eating disorder and cutting. “Stay Strong” shows her confronting these problems while still working on her career, including going back on the road for a tour. Since leaving a trek with the Jonas Brothers in the fall of 2010 to enter treatment, the singer has leaned on the support of her family, friends and devoted fans, known as Lovatics. Lovato will go into detail about the events that caused her to seek treatment and how she decided to share her personal struggles and journey with the world. “I wanted to share my story but I knew it had to be honest, it had to be real,” Lovato said in a statement. “I have daily challenges but so do many kids who are struggling to feel comfortable in their own skin. If opening up and sharing my story inspires even one person to stay strong or to get the help they need, I’ve succeeded.” Fans will get to hit the road with the singer, as well as travel home with her to Dallas, Texas, to see her family. She will also head back to the Illinois treatment center she entered in November 2010. Lovato first teased the project on Tuesday when she tweeted a photo of her tattooed wrists reading “Stay Strong.” “Lovatics-I wanted to tell you FIRST about a special I worked on with @MTV,” she tweeted . “It premieres March 6th at 10pm!! #staystrong” Lovato hit the road late last year for a solo trek shortly after dropping her third album, Unbroken. The personal record included the chart-topping hit single “Skyscraper.” The special will air on MTV channels internationally starting in the spring. For more information, head to StayStrong.MTV.com .
