Robert Pattinson Talks Cosmopolis Re-Team, Says Cronenberg Wanted to Film His Junk

On the eve of his Cannes debut in David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis , Robert Pattinson spoke with Metro France about a host of topics, most notably his fear of being fired from the film and his eagerness to reunite with the director on a “really weird” film about the film industry. And, oh yes: His balls. More specifically, how Cronenberg really wanted to get them in a shot for one particularly revealing scene… [ GALLERY: Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and more at the Cannes Film Festival ] Granted, the nuance of language gets a bit lost via Google Translation (hat tip to fan blog Robert Pattinson Life for their translated version). Either way, temper your expectations: The Pattinson junk did not make it to the screen as planned. “Five minutes before we filmed, David told me, ‘I want to see the bottom of your balls on the top of the frame.’ At the moment, I reminded myself that I would do anything for him. So I went back to see him and told him that wouldn’t happen. He took it really well. At the start, it’s a very bizarre scene that you won’t see again in another movie, I promise.” Oh, that Cronenberg! Pattinson also told Metro France about the film he hopes to reunite with Cronenberg on after he hunts Saddam Hussein in Jean-Stéphane Sauvaire’s Mission: Blacklist : “I don’t know when exactly we’re going to shoot. It will be David’s first movie in America. In Los Angeles, to be exact. It will be about the film industry and I promise that it’s going to be really weird.” As it should be. Robert Pattinson Rumored for Role of Finnick Odair in Catching Fire

He already has one franchise under his belt. Might Robert Pattinson soon add another? According to Movie Fanatic, the Twilight Saga star is under consideration for the role of Finnick Odair in Catching Fire , the wildly anticipated sequel to The Hunger Games . Finnick is described in Suzanne Collins’ novel as a ridiculously handsome former champion of the competition at the center of the triology’s story. He’s muscular, tan and blonde-haired (doesn’t exactly sound like R. Patt, does it?) and he harbored a troubled personal life. The Pattinson rumored has gained momentum because Francis Lawrence will direct Catching Fire and he worked with Rob in Water For Elephants . “As with the first film, we won’t be confirming, denying or commenting on any casting rumors for this title,” the studio said in a statement in response to this chatter. “We will announce news wide when there is official casting news to announce.” Until then… let’s speculate! Who should portray Finnick?

Should Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson Star in 50 Shades of Grey?

Would Kristen Stewart be up for starring in Fifty Shades of Grey? She hasn’t read it yet, but she’s already dying to star in a new film with boyfriend Robert Pattinson, and it’s loosely based on their characters, so … maybe! The sexy novel trilogy by EL James, recently acquired by Universal Studios in a movie deal, was inspired by Edward and Bella from the Twilight novels. Knowing this, could she see herself and Rob in 50 Shades? “I’m dying to make another movie with Rob, I think that we’re a good team ,” Kristen said. “I think whatever it is needs to be so ridiculously ambitious.” “So maybe! I just haven’t read it, so I don’t know too much about what it is, but I’ve heard good things, and would love to work with him again.” Kristen reiterated that she “doesn’t know” when asked if she could picture herself and Rob playing Christian and Anastasia in 50 Shades of Grey. You can see why the idea appeals to many fans, however – as does another faux vampire combo in The Vampire Diaries ‘ Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev. In the book, Ana (based off of Bella) falls for Christian (based on Edward Cullen), a rich 27-year-old entrepreneur who introduces her into his erotic world of S&M. What’s your take? Would the Snow White and the Huntsman star be a good fit for the role? Vote for who you think should play both lead characters below: Who should play Anastasia : Who should play Christian :

What Do ‘Twilight’ Stars Have Lined Up Before ‘Dawn’?

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and the rest are all keeping busy before the final installment hits theaters in November. By Jocelyn Vena Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner Photo: Dimitrios Kambouris/ WireImage With “Breaking Dawn – Part 2” nearly behind them , the stars of the “Twilight Saga” have some busy schedules ahead of the film’s November release for some other movies. Just this week alone, Robert Pattinson picked up two more films, hot off the heels of several other casting updates for his “Twilight” co-stars. It’s almost getting hard to know when and where you’ll see the actors next, so MTV News is rounding it all up in this little guide: Robert Pattinson He’s already banked two intriguing movies: “Cosmopolis,” which hits Cannes this month, and “Bel Ami,” which will be available on VOD Friday (May 4) before going to theaters June 8. But it’s been a busy week for RPattz. He just added two more projects to his docket: the Saddam Hussein thriller “Mission: Blacklist” and “Rover,” in which he’ll be hunted down by Guy Pearce for stealing a car. Kristen Stewart With less than a month until the release of “Snow White and the Huntsman,” the blockbuster will get the “MTV First” treatment on Tuesday, when Stewart and her co-stars will stop by MTV with an exclusive look at the movie. Later this year, that other book-to-film adaptation, “On the Road,” will hit theaters. In it, she plays Garrett Hedlund’s drug-loving teenage bride, Marylou. Stewart has lined up some more interesting projects, including a “micro-cameo” in her mom’s prison movie “K-11.” She’ll also explore the art of (faked) snuff films in the flick “Cali.” Taylor Lautner After leaving the toy flick “Stretch Armstrong,” Lautner recently picked up a completely different kind of movie: He’s set to star alongside Adam Sandler and crew in “Grown Ups 2.” Kellan Lutz He’s got a number of projects that still need to hit the big screen, like “Syrup, “Bumped” and “Java Heat.” But he’s not resting: Lutz just landed the title role in a performance-capture, 3-D take on “Tarzan,” according to The Hollywood Reporter ; Spencer Locke has been locked in to play his Jane. Ashley Greene Although she has several movies set to hit theaters, including this week’s “LOL” with Miley Cyrus and Demi Moore and the very scary “Apparition” out in August, she is also making a name for herself on the small screen. She’s attached to the ABC show “Americana” about real-life fashion designer Robert Soulter. Greene will play an up-and-coming Big Apple fashionista on the soap. Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’: Experts Cast Christian Grey

Robert Pattinson, Ian Somerhalder, Ryan Gosling are fan favorites to play the dark and mysterious character in E L James’ novel. By Christina Garibaldi Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News People just can’t stop talking about “Fifty Shades of Grey.” E L James has set the literary world on fire with as erotic novel that explores the relationship between a dark and mysterious guy named Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, an innocent college graduate. The guilty-pleasure book features characters that James created in her “Twilight” fan fiction, and it’s now being made into a feature film . That, of course, has had Hollywood buzzing with casting rumors about who could play the role of Christian Grey. Fans of the trilogy already have strong opinions about the part, so MTV News caught up with some experts for their take. “Christian definitely needs to be clean-cut, but extremely sexy when disheveled,” Alison Genet of Twifans.com told MTV News. “I wouldn’t choose a man that is overly chiseled. No juicehead gorillas need apply. Hair that can be neatly brushed, but when playing, it’s loose and wild like Johnny Depp hair. Not super short.” Of course, the physical look of the actor has to fit, but Christian is also a complex individual, and most fans want an actor who can pull off all his many dimensions. “I just think that the actor needs to be able to portray being so intense,” Mags Vazquez from , “But also showing that vulnerability that he has in reality.” Casting rumors for the part of Christian have been heating up as of late, with names like “Twilight’s” own Robert Pattinson coming up. So, do fans want to see Pattinson make the transition from Edward Cullen to Christian Grey? “There’s the side that first fell in love with the characters as part of ‘Twilight’ fan fiction and can only see Robert Pattinson as Christian and/or Kristen Stewart as Ana,” Lisa Parker from FiftyShadesFilm.com explained. “Would we be disappointed if he/she/they were cast? Absolutely not.” Others disagree, however. “In regards to Robert Pattinson, I would like to see them move away from ‘Twilight’ so it can get its own identity,” Crissy Maier of Laters, Baby! said. Well, if Pattinson doesn’t land the role, there’s a chance another vampire could step in: “Vampire Diaries” star Ian Somerhalder. “I think Ian seems like a good fit visually, I haven’t watched ‘Vampire Diaries,’ but what I hear about his acting skills there, I’m hearing good things,” Maier said. Parker agreed, revealing that her readers have been backing Somerhalder since he expressed interest in the role during an interview with Ryan Seacrest. “We’re excited to see actors step up and say they would be interested in playing the leading man,” Parker said, adding, “With Ian Somerhalder being the first and a popular candidate judging from our Twitter timeline.” These super fans have suggestions of their own though, ranging from Matt Bomer to “Man of Steel” star Henry Cavill . Not surprisingly, Ryan Gosling is also a favorite. “We are fans of the love story too, so we know exactly what qualities ‘FSOG’ fans see in different actors and actresses that make them appealing for the roles,” Parker said. “Have you seen the Dunhill London ads featuring Henry Cavill? Do they not scream ‘Fifty’? Have you seen Ryan Gosling’s GQ photo shoot? Grey silk tie anyone?” Genet of Twifanscom agreed, saying Gosling’s undeniable charm could make him the perfect Christian Grey: “Ryan Gosling, Ryan Gosling, and Ryan Gosling. Imaging him in jeans hung low on the hip.” “The one thing we know for sure is that with E L James as a collaborative partner in the casting process, we are confident that she will do what’s in the best interest of her famously loved characters.” Parker said. Who do you think should play Christian Grey in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” movie? Let us know in the comments!
