Robert Pattinson Says ‘Cosmopolis’ Co-Star Sarah Gadon Has ‘A Great Face’

Actor also tells MTV News about working on a ‘very specific accent’ for the David Cronenberg film. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News Thanks to all the quality time MTV News has been getting with Robert Pattinson lately, via our “MTV First: Robert Pattinson” and “Water for Elephants” interviews, we’ve been able to glean a few fun details from the “Twilight” superstar about his upcoming projects, including the highly anticipated “Breaking Dawn: Part 1,” of course, as well as the slightly more mysterious “Cosmopolis.” What we know so far is that Pattinson will be directed by David Cronenberg in the role of young finance guru Eric Packer, opposite Sarah Gadon , who recently signed on to play Packer’s estranged wife. The novel is a modern reinterpretation of James Joyce’s classic “Ulysses,” set in New York in the year 2000, around the burst of the dot-com bubble. Most of the action in the book takes place over the course of one day, in the limousine Packer takes to his various errands. When MTV News caught up with Pattinson, we asked him for his thoughts on his new co-star. “I’ve seen a couple of things she’s done. She’s really good,” Pattinson said of Gadon. “She has a great face. … I haven’t talked to her yet, but I think it’s going to be a great cast.” Regarding other prep work he’s doing before filming begins sometime next month, Pattinson is getting some voice coaching. “I’m working with a dialect coach now. There’s this very specific accent,” he said. “And yeah, just sort of various sort of things.” For those unfamiliar with Gadon, a 23-year-old Toronto native, she most recently worked with Cronenberg in his “A Dangerous Method” and has a slew of TV credits to her name, including the SOAP Net series “Being Erica” and ABC’s “Happy Town.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Britney Spears: The Origin Of The Super-Pop Species

With her new album sitting at #1, Bigger Than the Sound looks at Britney’s unprecedented career. By James Montgomery Britney Spears Photo: Getty Images By the time you read this, Britney Spears will have scored her sixth #1 debut with Femme Fatale, her latest installment of supersonic, stealth-fighter pop, a collection of songs equipped with laser-guided, heat-seeking hit missiles. In fact, Femme Fatale is more like an F-22 Raptor than an album. Maybe I shouldn’t be amazed that Brit finds herself atop the charts once again, but don’t we live in austere times? Aren’t Odd Future the only thing that matters these days? I’m only sort of kidding. Because, frankly, each and every time Britney lands another #1, it’s kind of like we’ve traveled through a wormhole and ended up in 1999, a time when the industry was still flush with cash and Lou Pearlman still lumbered the land. This was only 12 years ago, but it may as well have been 12 million. These days, we still have plenty of pure pop stars, though none of them are quite like Britney. Lady Gaga is into performance art. Katy Perry is the California Gurl. Pink is the punky older cousin with a ton of tattoos. As is often the case with evolution, they have each developed specialized traits in order to survive. Britney is, in a lot of ways, the origin of the species (for simplicity’s sake, I’m just ignoring Madonna, who basically did everything before any of this generation’s stars were even teething). She was — and, I suppose, still is — the music industry’s first attempt to promote a star that is everything to everyone. And each and every time she surfaces with a new album in tow, it signals the return of pop’s Mesozoic era. For all intents and purposes, she may spend her time between albums trapped in amber, waiting to have her DNA extracted by some scientist. This is by no means meant to come across as a slight against Spears. I fully understand why her fans love her the way they do, not to mention the fact that Femme Fatale is a heck of a pop record, a starry shadowbox of the coolest sounds you’re likely to hear all year. It’s more me simply marveling at the way she operates — in the cockpit of a high-powered fighter, making glossy, big-budget videos , putting on full-scale pop spectacles . There truly, honestly isn’t anyone else like her. We should take this opportunity to appreciate what Britney Spears — and her album — represent. She is the last super-pop star left standing. There was a time when everyone did things this way; now it’s her and her alone. Spears is still everything to everyone, in a time when all we hear about are “niche markets” and “splintered genres,” and for that alone, the success of Femme Fatale is noteworthy. Can she continue to survive among her more specialized peers? She’s certainly earned the right to, though one gets the feeling she’s probably not too worried about that fact. The thing about being the first is that there isn’t really anything — or anyone — to compete against. So let others sweat the small stuff; Britney’s only concerned with being Britney. Now and forever. What do you think is the secret to Britney’s success? Let us know in the comments! Related Videos Britney Spears: I Am The Femme Fatale

Robert Pattinson Calls ‘Breaking Dawn’ Sex Scene ‘Incredible’

‘It’s kind of interesting, as well, having to do it in the context of PG-13,’ he tells MTV News. By Eric Ditzian, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News Robert Pattinson has gone on record as being livid that photos of his “Breaking Dawn” sex session with Kristen Stewart have leaked on the Web. “Find out who these little sh–s are and just hack into their computers and destroy them,” he instructed “Twilight” fans. His beef was not only that the images represented raw footage, but that they spoiled a bit of the surprise that director Bill Condon and the rest of the “Twilight” gang have in store for audiences when the film hits theaters in November. And, as RPattz explained to us, they’ve got some special stuff planned. “It’s kind of incredible,” he said. “I saw a prelim of it. [Bill] has really, really good ideas for it.” The tricky thing, of course, is to shoot a sex scene that lives up to the expectations of readers of Stephenie Meyer’s book yet adheres to the restrictions of the MPAA’s rating system. “We had some really interesting ideas about it,” Pattinson explained. “It’s kind of interesting, as well, having to do it in the context of PG-13. “You can’t do blatant,” he added with a laugh. “That’s all been done in other stuff anyway, like saying, ‘You just do it really, really fast!’ ” Rob should certainly know. “Bel Ami,” his upcoming romantic drama co-starring Uma Thurman, features a whole lot of, er, blatant sexuality. How blatant? “Lot of my crack in it!” he laughed last summer. “I think there’s quite a lot of nudity.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Robert Pattinson Says Love Usually Begins ‘At First Sight’

‘There has to be some kind of moment where you feel a different energy around someone,’ the ‘Water for Elephants’ star tells MTV News. By Aly Semigran, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson Photo: MTV News Robert Pattinson is sure of two things: Love at first sight can exist and he always has something on his lips (though, coincidentally enough, they have nothing to do with one another.) When MTV News caught up with Pattinson to discuss his latest project, “Water for Elephants,” the topic turned to whether he believes in love at first sight. His “Elephants” character, Jacob, goes through something similar when he experiences an instant attraction and connection to Marlena (Reese Witherspoon) . “I think people can [fall in love at first sight],” said the 24-year-old star, who has been romantically linked in real life to his “Twilight” co-star Kristen Stewart . “I think pretty much all people who love each other, had some kind of thing at first sight,” he continued. “I mean, there has to be some kind of moment where you, like, feel a different energy around someone.” RPattz went on to make the argument that, “Generally, if you don’t notice someone ever, you’re probably not going to fall in love with them.” In other words, Robert Pattinson probably doesn’t believe in too many romantic comedies! But if you’re still hoping a simple run-in with Pattinson will make for a love match, there’s something you should probably know about him: He has some strange habits where his lips are concerned. During our “love at first sight” chat, Pattinson got distracted and wondered aloud, “Oh, why do I always have stuff on my lip?!” After mimicking licking his lips, the actor said this sort of thing happens “like, constantly!” Pattinson then joked that the lip thing was a reoccurring problem during every interview he’d had while promoting “Water for Elephants” over the weekend. “If I keep my mouth closed for 20 seconds, my lips [get] stuck together,” RPattz complained. We’d be willing to bet there are some hard-core fans out there more than willing to remedy that problem. Do you, like Robert Pattinson, believe in love at first sight? Tell us in the comments! Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson wedding Bells

Kristen Stewart#39;s bodyguard was in tow, natch, and apparently he was not too pleased with onlookers who tried to take pics, blocking some who attempted. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were spotted taking a romantic stroll Saturday night up in Vancouver. The couple were holding hands as they walked back to their hotel, and for once it was caught on tape! In the somewhat blurry video, you can clearly see Robsten#39;s hands interlocked, and we think it#39;s totally adorable. Is it even
