Robert Pattinson Related To Real Dracula, Vlad The Impaler

‘Twilight’ star reportedly shares ancestry with Transylvanian leader on whom Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’ is believed to be based. By Gil Kaufman Robert Pattinson So that’s why he’s so believable! Just in time for the launch of “Eclipse,” genealogy researchers have unearthed evidence that the most famous fictional vampire of our time, Robert Pattinson, is related to the most famous vampire of all time, Vlad the Implaer. According to The Associated Press , researchers at Ancestry.co.uk have revealed that the 24-year-old “Twilight” hunk has ties to Vlad III Dracula, a.k.a. Vlad the Impaler, the Transylvanian leader widely thought to be the inspiration for the main character in Bram Stoker’s legendary 1897 novel “Dracula.” The tie between Pattinson and Vlad apparently comes via their common relationship to the British royal family. England’s Prince William and Prince Harry are Pattinson’s distant cousins and Vlad the Impaler was their distant uncle. Vlad was born in Transylvania and ruled over the region now known as Romania (then called Wallachia) from 1456 to 1462. Known as “the Impaler,” Vlad was famous for executing his enemies by driving wooden stakes into their bodies. “Tracing Pattinson’s family back to Vlad was difficult research, but the pieces that unraveled created the perfect accompaniment to the ‘Twilight Saga,’ ” said Anastasia Tyler, a genealogist at Ancestry.com. “Without any myth or magic, we find royalty and vampires lurking in Pattinson’s life — making his story just as supernatural as the one he’s playing on screen.” And, in a connection only a publicist could dream of, the folks at Ancestry.com say that “Twilight” series author Stephenie Meyer also has ties to the British princes’ lineage, which means that, yes, she too is related to Dracula. Coincidentally, “Eclipse” opens Wednesday, June 30. Robert Pattinson Brings Mom And Dad To ‘Tonight Show’

When the “Eclipse” star stopped by “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” on Tuesday night, he brought along his mom and dad and talked about how they’re adjusting to his overwhelming success. “I think they’re handling it alright. I think they used to [believe the tabloid stories] — well, maybe not the alien child — but I don’t think so anymore,” he explained while his parents sat in the audience. “It depends on the source. Some sources are more reliable than others. If it’s in some of them [that my mom has read for years, to her] it’s definitely true [even if it’s not]. [She’s like,] ‘I’ve bought that magazine for years. I have a subscription!’ ” Meanwhile, his dad likes to send Rob e-mails with advice on how to handle fame. “I hope this doesn’t embarrass my dad. He loves sending me e-mails, which I love getting,” he said. “He claims he doesn’t love watching films. His favorite film is ‘Jaws.’ With ‘Twilight’ he was like, I think it’s a mixture between ‘Jaws’ and ‘Superman.’ ” Pattinson then read aloud an e-mail from his dad about romantic gestures like kissing a lady’s hand. Pattinson even dished on their reaction to the idea of seeing their son bare all on the big screen, which he does for the upcoming “Bel Ami.” He joked, “I don’t know, I guess they were a little bit shocked. [But] I think they were OK with it. They’ve seen it all before.” They may be comfortable with it, but Pattinson is still trying to come to terms with onscreen nudity . “I think the initial moment when you’re walking to set [is nerve-racking]. They give you a little robe and the moment you have to take it off you want to throw up,” he revealed. Robert Pattinson is the Anti-Kristen Stewart

Kristen Stewart is so uncomfortable with fame that she recently compared the paparazzi to rapists . Conversely, boyfriend Robert Pattinson is clearly enjoying his time in the spotlight. He’s not obnoxious about it at all, but in each interview Rob gives, he comes across as relaxed, jovial and simply amazed at what his life has become. Case in point: on Nightline last night, Pattinson joked that if he ever has kids and they want to go into acting, he’ll say: ‘Yeah, it’s great. You don’t have to do anything. Everything goes right.'” Asked about his mindset on fame, Robert could have been addressing Kristen directly when he said the key is to enjoy it, “rather than looking like it’s freaking you out and you want to leave.” It’s obvious Robert is following his own advice. See for yourself: Robert was also asked why the Twilight Saga is considered so sexy… even though Edward and Bella wait so long to have sex. That’s exactly the point, Rob replied: ”Anyone who likes the books, they all think they’re really sexy. They just like that moment before [sex]… the kind of tipping point before it goes over.
