More here:

The presidential debate last night was a shitshow from start to finish, with the crowd booing the fact that Mitt Romney’s dad was born in Mexico , giving a standing ovation to Newt Gingrich’s racism and booing Juan Williams for being black. Also shitty? Mitt Romney’s weird response to whether he would release his tax returns. The best part of that is in the video below: Here’s the mind-boggling transcript… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Slog Discovery Date : 17/01/2012 05:56 Number of articles : 2

Finally, Breaking Dawn Director Weighs in on Anti-Mitt Romney ‘Documentary’

Today in the NY Times , David Carr has an intriguing look at the notorious 28-minute “documentary” When Mitt Romney Came to Town , a piece of presidential-campaign propaganda so slick and evocative that it brings to mind the work of contemporary Hollywood pros. Perhaps most notably, Carr writes, the film implicates Romney in a kind of “vampire capitalism” — which calls for some perspective from the Oscar-winning director of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn , Bill Condon. Naturally . It’s precisely the cheeky antidote the piece needs to counteract the sniffling stridency of Michael Moore (“Those in power will appropriate the counterculture to their own ends,” he tells Carr), but it’s also a concisely nifty illumination of how choices behind the camera affect perceptions of those in front of it: “From a technical perspective, they were very effective of taking the imagery of [the 1984 Ronald Reagan spot] Morning in America and gradually turning it into an episode of America’s Most Wanted ,” Mr. Condon said. “In the film, Romney literally blocks out the sun and the weather seems to turn. You are always looking down at Romney, while they shoot the people who lost their jobs from below. And there is a literal money shot, where Romney is posing with money, that looks like it was captured from a surveillance video.” “The title in particular is very good,” he said. “It sets it up right away that this is the mainstream versus Wall Street. The populism of that message took me by surprise and represents a calculation that the white working class, who are everywhere in this movie, are a big part of the Republican electorate.” Indeed. Now if only it were factual ! Can’t have it all, I suppose. Check the film out below, FWIW…

Stephen Colbert on Mitt Romney: Possible Serial Killer!

Stephen Colbert does not want to disturb you, but the leading candidate for the Republication Presidential nomination might be a serial killer. The Comedy Central host, who is actually running in the upcoming South Carolina Primary , makes this startling accusation in a new ad from his Super PAC, one in which narrator John Lithgow follows Mitt Romney’s own line of reasoning to its logical conclusion. If corporations are people, as Romney famously said at a campaign event last year, and if Romney gutted a number of businesses during his days in the private sector, well… what other conclusion can be draw? On ABC’s This Week today, Colbert was asked by George Stephanopoulos whether he truly believes Romney is a serial killer and replied: “That’s a question he has to answer.” Watch the commercial below and decide: Does it cross a line? Or is it a perfect form of satire? Stephen Colbert Primary Ad Attacks Mitt Romney

Casey Anthony Claims Video Diary Hacked – And She is PISSED!

Casey Anthony claims the video diaries that leaked online last week were stolen from her computer by a malicious hacker of unknown origin, reports say. That’s according to a probation officer at the Florida Department of Corrections, which is overseeing Casey’s case. For check fraud. Not the murder thing. The embattled 25-year-old made this claim during her recent meeting with her P.O., insisting someone illegally downloaded the clips off of her computer. She then, unintentionally, returned to the public eye in this video: Casey Anthony Video Diary A second diary surfaced a few days later, also cloaked in mystery. Aside from the fact that it’s Casey Anthony, the diaries themselves are mundane. As part of her therapy, presumably, she discusses her daily life nowadays, adopting a dog, having her nose pierced, getting a new phone and whatnot. Nothing remotely embarrassing or even that interesting, frankly, but according to court documents, Casey’s royally pissed the videos were stolen and her attorneys are openly promising they will come after the hacker if/when s/he is revealed. We’d lay low if we were that person. Jose Baez doesn’t lose.

New Hampshire Primary Results: Mitt Romney Cruises to Win, Ron Paul Strong Second

Mitt Romney rolled to victory in the New Hampshire primary Tuesday, becoming the first GOP candidate since 1976 to win the Iowa caucuses and N.H. back-to-back. “Tonight we celebrate. Tomorrow we go back to work,” said Romney , who turned back a ferocious assault from his GOP rivals in recent days to win fairly handily. In accepting victory, he delivered a pointed message to his opponents, urging them not to play into President Obama’s hands by trying to destroy his candidacy. “In the last few days, we have seen some desperate Republicans join forces with him,” Romney said. “This is such a mistake for our party and for our nation.” “This country already has a leader who divides us with the bitter politics of envy.” Congressman Ron Paul of Texas came in second place, with approximately 24 percent of the Granite State vote to Romney’s 36 percent as of this posting. Former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman is third, around 17 percent, with Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich tied for fourth, struggling to crack double digits. Romney leads Ron Paul in nine of the state’s 10 counties, with Paul second in each of those and ahead in the 10th. A little over half the votes have been tallied. The contest now moves to South Carolina January 21. The Palmetto State is considered less welcoming terrain for Romney, though he still leads in polls. Final N.H. primary results to come after all precincts report.

Lindsay Lohan to Star in Elizabeth Taylor Biopic?

Lindsay Lohan is in “early talks” to play Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime movie “Elizabeth & Richard: A Love Story,” according to Entertainment Weekly . Who better to play the a glamorous Hollywood icon than a train wreck frequent jailbird Playboy model who hasn’t had a notable acting role in years! The film will focus on Taylor’s tumultuous relationship with two-time husband Richard Burton. So how on Earth did they think of Lohan for the part? Like Lohan, Taylor began her career at a young age, growing up in the spotlight. Some say she made plenty of missteps along her road to icon status. Lohan also posed for Marilyn Monroe-inspired Playboy photos which allegedly racked up record sales for the mag, resurrecting her career somewhat. Maybe a Liz T. photo spread is next? Eh, maybe not. Rush Limbaugh: Dems WANT Mitt to Win!

Are Democrats salivating at facing the guy winning – or at least perceived, by the media, to have the best chance of winning – the Republican presidential race? Yes, Rush Limbaugh says. The radio host is one of several prominent Republicans who believe the party would stand a better chance with a less vanilla candidate – and Democrats know it. Rush Limbaugh: Dems Want Romney! “The Democrats are afraid of any candidate they have sought to destroy. You can start with Sarah Palin, you can move on to Santorum. Any – any conservative who shows any interest – the Democrats set out to destroy,” he said. “That’s who they’re genuinely afraid of. They are not hammering Mitt Romney at all, and (Democratic strategist) Donna Brazile let the cat out of the bag. Don’t doubt me.” Do you agree with Limbaugh’s point? Makes you wonder if Ron Paul were leading polls, how the White House and other prominent Dems would react.
