Attending a preview of Lucian Freud paintings at the National Portrait Gallery in London, Kate donned an affordable gray Jesire dress and four-inch heels. Halle Berry and Gabriel Aubry spent hours inside a Los Angeles courtroom yesterday, but little was accomplished in terms of settling on what changes would be made to the pair’s custody arrangement. The former couple is at odds because Aubry is under investigation for allegedly shoving his nanny while she cradled daughter Nahla,in her arms. Berry wants her ex to be barred from contact with Nahla until the investigation is complete. But that determination was not decided by a judge yesterday. Instead, according to TMZ, the L.A. County Department of Children and Family Services submitted various recommendation for Halle and Gabriel, including third party mediation. She was reportedly open to the idea; he was not. Both parties did, however, agree to send Nahla to counseling, while Berry will undergo therapy on her own and Aubry had already said he was open to anger management courses . The judge did not rule on the nanny’s fate, or on Berry’s request to prevent contact between Nahla and Aubry. A full trial may be convened in the near future to deal with these issues.
Duchess Catherine’s sister Pippa Middleton has given exactly no interviews since the Royal Wedding in April. Are Barbara Walters and Oprah angling to change that? British tabloids are reporting that Walters and Oprah are engaged in a bidding war to book the 28-year-old party planner for a TV special – potentially for big bucks. Walters, 82, denied on The View Monday. “It’s not true,” the journalist said. “ABC News does not pay for interviews. I have no idea what Oprah does, but ABC does not pay. She’s not a news program, so maybe they have a different policy.” That doesn’t mean Walters wouldn’t be up for interviewing Pippa Middleton, who was one of her most fascinating people of 2011 , as unveiled in late December. “To make it clear: Would I like to do the interview? Yes, I would like to I think she’s a charming, beautiful girl,” Walters said . “Will we pay to do the interview? Her husband Prince Philip, 90, underwent emergency surgery Friday for a blocked coronary artery. Saturday, members of the royal family visited Philip in the hospital. Buckingham Palace officials issued an update, saying he had “a good night” following his procedure. The royal family spent Christmas day at the Queen’s Sandringham estate. Today, Pippa Middleton will join her sister and the royal family for a pheasant shoot. Kate, William and Pippa will then travel to the Middleton family’s home in Bucklebury. According to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan, despite a 5 percent drop in sales last week, the album sold nearly 106,000 copies, helping the British crooner pass the four million mark while never dropping below the #3 spot and notching 13 non-consecutive weeks at #1. Christian rockers Casting Crowns are just behind at #2 with their latest, Come to the Well, which moved 99,000 copies. It is one of only two debuts in the top 10, which also includes R&B singer Joe ‘s The Good, the Bad, the Sexy (#8, 33,000). The rest of the top 10 is filled with albums that suffered double-digit sales losses: Scotty McCreery , Clear as Day (#3, 57,000, down 36 percent); Evanescence (#4, 40,000, down 69 percent); Tony Bennett , Duets II (#5, 39,000, down 29 percent); Lil Wayne , Tha Carter IV (#6, 35,000, down 22 percent); Lady Antebellum , Own the Night (#7, 34,000, down 27 percent), Five Finger Death Punch , American Capitalist (#9, 29,000, down 68 percent) and Lauren Alaina , Wildflower (#10, 26,000, down 63 percent). Release of Live at the Royal Albert Hall comes on the heels of singer cancelling a slew of shows due to vocal issues. By James Montgomery Adele Photo: Stefan M. Prager/Redferns Vocal problems may have forced Adele to scrap her U.S. tour , but next month, she’ll return to the States … with a live CD and DVD. Due out November 29, Live at the Royal Albert Hall was recorded during Adele’s rousing September show at the iconic London venue, and features her full 90-minute performance, which includes her biggest hits from the 19 and 21 albums, plus covers of Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me” and the Steeldrivers’ “If It Hadn’t Been for Love.” The film, directed by Paul Dugdale (who has previously worked with the Prodigy, Florence and the Machine and, of course, Adele herself), also contains exclusive behind-the-scenes content shot throughout the day. The CD/DVD package is currently available for pre-order through Adele’s website , and fans might want to pick it up, as it’s probably the last time they’ll get to see the British belter for a while. She’s been battling vocal issues for months, first postponing her North American tour in June due to laryngitis, then rescheduling dates before announcing in early October that a vocal hemorrhage would force her off the road entirely. Of course, none of that has slowed the success of her massive 21, which will once again top the Billboard albums chart next week and has sold more than 4 million copies in the U.S. alone since February.
