The actress, who left rehab Tuesday after spending 23 days in court-ordered treatment, has returned to Twitter . In her first tweet as a free woman, Lohan targeted some familiar foes: paparazzi. “Clearly.. Paparazzi shouldn’t be allowed to take pictures or video while someone’s driving or at a stop light. 4every1’s sake #trafficpolice,” the starlet tweeted Thursday (August 26). Just like her constantly changing hair color and shenanigans behind the wheel, Lohan’s run-ins with photogs have marked her years in an unrelenting spotlight. A car crash that Lohan claimed was the fault of an overzealous snapper partly inspired a California law aimed at cracking down on eager paparazzi. In her return to the social-networking site, Lohan appears to have revisited her tradition of oversharing and antagonizing others via the Web. The actress’ turbulent relationship with ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson played out in front of millions of viral fans, with both ladies typing swipes at each other. More recently, bawdy comedienne Joan Rivers went after Lohan on Twitter before the actress began her stint in jail. Lohan has also blasted her publicity-hungry father, Michael, on the site as well. Even if Lohan has taken up her viral antics once again, many have hope the actress can bounce back from her recent troubles. “I feel like people in the film industry are rooting for her,” film critic Ryan Gilbey recently told MTV News . “[Director Quentin] Tarantino has been saying great, supportive things about her and how brilliant she’s in this movie he’s produced [‘Machete’].” Indeed, her “Machete” co-stars have been beaming about Lohan’s performance in the flick. “I wish her all the best. On Monday evening at 8 p.m. PT, she sent what could be her final tweet before being locked up, writing, “The only ‘bookings’ that I’m familiar with are Disney films, never thought that I’d be ‘booking’ into jail … eeeks.” People.com , quoting anonymous sources close to the 24-year-old actress, said she had a rough weekend at the Pickford Lofts sober-living facility, where she checked in last week. “It’s been a rough weekend,” the source said. “She has not been able to sleep and has barely been eating. All weekend, Lindsay kept crying, chain smoking and chewing her nails.” Even frequent visits from mother Dina and sister Ali, as well as ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson and other friends, have not calmed Lohan’s anxiety about reporting for jail on Tuesday (July 20) morning. “She is a nervous, fidgety mess, and her legal team, family and friends are very concerned about her fragile state,” the source said. That anxiety was likely heightened on Monday, when Lohan made a last-minute appearance before Judge Marsha Revel and attorney Robert Shapiro announced he was resigning from the case after less than a week. Lohan has been trying to come to terms with the pending lockup, People.com said, but as the day drew closer she began to get anxious about spending 23 hours a day in a 12-by-8 foot cell in the segregated, protective-custody wing of a women’s jail facility. “She’s been picturing herself in jail and she can’t handle the idea of it,” said another anonymous friend. “She doesn’t want to go. Lindsay Denise Lohan was born 24 years ago today in New York City. Even before she got her big break in Disney’s 1998 remake of The Parent Trap at age 11, she was a successful child model destined for psychological problems stardom. Lohan’s career exploded from 2003-2005 thanks to lead roles in Freaky Friday, Mean Girls and Herbie: Fully Loaded , along with two relatively successful pop albums. However, to quote her Wikipedia bio, “her career was interrupted in 2007 as two DUI incidents and three visits to rehabilitation facilities led to several lost movie deals.” Yup, that’s pretty much where we stand today. Happy birthday, Linds! Lindsay Lohan turns 24 today – and not in rehab or jail! Despite more than one warning from people close to her that she is going to die imminently given her lifestyle, the troubled actress has defied the odds. Sure, she’s getting sued about once a week, and had to be freed on $100,000 bail twice in as many months, but relatively speaking, she’s doing really well lately! We wish her the very best on this special day, which we’re sure she will enjoy, ankle monitor be damned. Might as well live it up before the day of reckoning Tuesday. That probation hearing could spell big trouble for her. Mama Lohan revealed Thursday (June 10) that her daughter is in talks to appear as a contestant on the next “Celebrity Apprentice,” and has been approached by none other than Donald Trump himself. “Donald approached Lindsay about being on ‘Celebrity Apprentice,’ so we’ll see where it goes,” Dina Lohan told People magazine. “I think it’s a great idea for her, but Lindsay has two movies coming up [“Machete” and “Inferno”], so I don’t know if Lindsay has time. Lindsay Lohan partying, throwing drinks and falling over: It’s not just for Hollywood anymore. Welcome to the LiLo debauchery club, New York City and Cannes! The target of Linds’ wrath was not Samantha Ronson for once, but model Jessica Stam, although as is often the case with Lohan rage, no one is quite sure why. At a party at 1Oak, “She was going to move to a table where Jessica Stam, her boyfriend, Aaron Voros, and Sean Avery were sitting, but then she freaked out.” That’s when a the obligatory cocktail was thrown. “She threw a drink at Jessica,” a source says . “She seemed upset about Aaron, but they don’t even know each other.” Yeah … when has that ever stopped her? After the cocktail assault, she tried to Jessica and her group kicked out. Security obviously wouldn’t agree, so Lindsay left shortly after. Who needs that club! OUTTA CONTROL : Different country, same story for Lindsay Lohan . The next morning, Lohan headed off to Cannes, but not before doing a strange interview in the car on her way to LAX, and acting more strangely upon arrival. Upon leaving a yacht party with a mystery man, Lindsay Lohan managed to take yet another tumble and wound up eating pavement. Pretty standard for her. It looks as if LiLo may have to cut her Cannes trip short, sadly, and not because of her drunkenness and embarrassing conduct … well, not directly, anyway. She’s got a DUI progress hearing Thursday (and may end up doing time for violating probation), and the judge will decide soon if she must attend in person. Bank on her ordering Linds’ a$$ to show up.
