Sarah Palin’s Alaska Recap: Mortal Karibou: Annihilation

Unfortunately, the highpoint of Sarah Palin’s Alaska this week was its promise of a Gosselin-Palin crossover campout next week. Damn it. We don’t live in next week yet! The quail haircuts and Piper vs. Madelyn Pay-Per-View Bare-knuckle Beatdown will have to wait until then. The good news is this: Sarah Palin shot a caribou square in the boob last night, and her father whinnied with pride. It’s enough to make a grown man (caribou) cry (fly backwards in a bloody heap). To the recap!

Dancing With the Stars Judge: No More Palins, More Same-Sex Couples!

Between Bristol’s run to the finals and reports that her father, Todd, may be next, many people can’t get enough of the Palins on Dancing With the Stars. One judge on the show certainly can, though. “I think one Palin was enough,” Carrie Ann Inaba told E! News, responding to Todd Palin speculation. “I think we need to go on a Palin vacation for a bit.” Palins mean ratings, but that’s not enough to sway one judge. “Although it was such great media attention, I think it was too controversial,” Inaba explained . “I think people got confused about what they were rooting for” “Are you voting for dancing on the show or are you voting for a Party? I think it made it uncomfortable for a lot of people who just want to see dancing.” “I like to keep it simple. I think it diluted things.” As for other reports that DWTS will follow in its Israeli counterpart’s footsteps by including a same-sex couple in the competition – Portia de Rossi is said to be on executives’ wish list if the U.S. version goes that route – Inaba is all for it. “I want it to happen,” Inaba said. “Although I think we’ll have to work on some of the judging and the techniques of leading and stuff like that.” “Once we get passed all that, I think it could happen.” Do you think DWTS should quit the Palins, or ride that train for all its worth in the coming seasons? Should they lobby for Sarah herself? Should the show glorify teen pregnancy by bringing on Maci Bookout or Amber Portwood instead? Moreover, should there be a same-sex couple? Vote below :

Alex Welch Pics Reveal Black Eye, Extent of Demi Lovato Attack

With Demi Lovato working on her personal issues inside an Illinois rehab facility, Alex Welch is left to ponder a response to her unfortunate interaction with the famous singer. Welch is the backup dancer who was attacked by Lovato shortly before Demi took this break from her career. Sources say Lovato was angry because she believed Alex had tattled about a party the night before. As a result, she walked up to Welch on a private jet “and with a closed fist, struck her on the left side of her face,” an insider tells TMZ . That site has also just published the following pics of Welch soon after this attack: Lovato was removed from the plane and has been out of the public eye since. Welch, meanwhile, has retained counsel and is considering a lawsuit. Click on either of the photos above and you can clearly see the reason why: Demi left her with visible bruises on the left eye/cheek.

Gainor Column: MSNBC Host Scarborough ‘Attacks Palin’ in Civility War

This week's news quiz is a toughie. If you blame Sarah Palin for the GOP's failure to take the Senate, have 'always loved NPR,' oppose Arizona's immigration law as “unacceptable and un-American' and called Republican candidate Sharron Angle a 'mental patient,' then you must be: A) Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, B) Lefty loon and entrepreneur Arianna Huffington, C) An MSNBC host or D) An elitist who 'will help headline the launch next month of a new national group dedicated to restoring civility in politics.' read more

Harper advisor calls for assassination of Wikileaks director

In a shockingly flippant comment to a Canadian television news anchor Evan Solomon of the CBC News Network on live TV, Tom Flanagan, a senior advisor and strategist to the Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper today called for the assassination of Wikileaks director Julian Assange . It is believed to be the first ever televised “fatwa” since the edict by the Iranian leadership of the late Ayatollah Khomeini against British writer Salman Rushdie in February 1989. Amazingly, although news anchor Solomon afforded Flanagan the opportunity to retract his statement, Flanagan balked at doing so and instead reiterated that U.S. President should put out a “contract” on Assange or use “a drone” and that he would not be unhappy if Assange “disappeared.” Flanagan who is a trusted member of PM Harper's inner circle of Tory strategists joins Sarah Palin in calling for the death of the Wikileaks director as retribution for the website's release of confidential diplomatic and intelligence “chatter” this week. added by: Miguel_Teixeira

Sarah Palin Rips Michelle Obama, Decries First Lady’s Efforts to Curb Childhood Obesity

Sigh. Sarah Palin is back in the news again. For whatever reason, the ex-Alaska Governor took First Lady Michelle Obama and her efforts to improve childhood nutrition to task on Laura Ingraham’s radio show. We know conservatives believe in smaller government, and there are strong cases to be made for that philosophy. Attacking Michelle’s nutrition initiative, though? Sarah Palin is not a fan of Michelle Obama’s anti-obesity efforts . Of the First Lady, Palin told Ingraham that “I think she has got a different worldview and she is not hesitant at all to share what her worldview is.” As for Sarah Palin’s worldview, no one can make sense of it, but she does use big words like “exceptionalism” in the rant against Michelle below: “She encapsulated what her view of America is, I believe, unless she has evolved and things have changed in the last two years, but she said it on the campaign trail twice that it was the first time that she had been proud of her country when finally people were paying attention to Barack Obama.” “I think that’s appalling. We can think of this infinite number of reasons to be proud of American exceptionalism and it baffles me that anybody would have that view and then allow that view to bleed over into policy.” “Take her anti-obesity thing that she is on. She is on this kick, right. What she is telling us is she cannot trust parents to make decisions for their own children, for their own families in what we should eat.” “I know I’m going to be again criticized for bringing this up, but instead of a government thinking that they need to take over and make decisions for us according to some politician or politician’s wife priorities, just leave us alone, get off our back, and allow us as individuals to exercise our own God-given rights to make our own decisions and then our country gets back on the right track.” Yes … the government needs to “get off our back” for this silly “anti-obesity thing.” Why encourage health when we can be as fat as we want! Freedom rules! Can’t you encourage people to make smarter choices that benefit themselves and the public health system as a whole? How is that an evil federal takeover? Choose your side : [poll id=”1662″ /]
