‘Game Of Thrones’ Battle Of Blackwater ‘Off The Scale’

‘They’ve spared no expense in making an awesome episode,’ Richard Madden tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Richard Madden Photo: MTV News So, how about Sunday’s episode of “Game of Thrones”? Have you recovered from all the fireworks? ‘Twas a doozy, for sure. Thank goodness there is still one more episode left in this action-packed season. Fans of George R.R. Martin’s source material had an inkling of what to expect from the highly anticipated Battle of Blackwater , but the sheer spectacle of it all was something to behold, even for the actors who had prepared themselves for it. “It was off the scale,” star Richard Madden (a.k.a. Robb Stark) told MTV News of the production that went into the sequence. “I know in season one we started a battle and we saw the end of a battle, and I know some people weren’t too pleased about that, but season two makes up for that and then some. They’ve spared no expense in making an awesome episode.” So, how many days did the cast and crew actually spend working on the battle? “Days and days and weeks,” Madden said. “I know there was months of CGI work to get those episodes looking awesome. If you’ve read the books, you know what that battle entails: It’s pretty visual, like a lot of George’s stuff. I think people won’t be disappointed.” Looking ahead to what’s to come for the would-be king, we also asked Madden if he has read ahead to find out what’s in store for his character. “It’s one of the things I try to avoid doing. I only read season by season: I don’t read ahead,” he explained. “It’s one of the great things about the books that I loved is that you are constantly surprised by these characters and the story, and as an actor, I want to try and stick to that. “I know if I read too far ahead, I’d start preempting character traits or decisions he makes,” he continued. “I’d much rather be an actor and make one decision and stick to it and then have the challenge of turning it around and going in a different direction. I try and keep it like that as much as I can so the audience gets as surprised by the journey as I do when I read the books and when I read each script.” Related Photos ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season Two

Jennifer Love Hewitt Cleavage: Covered Up in New Ads For The Client List!

The phrase “too much of a good thing” apparently applies to Jennifer Love Hewitt’s chest. Lifetime thought so, at least, covering those puppies up in a new ad. Updated ads for The Client List , based on the movie of the same name and also starring Hewitt, show the actress’ ample chest has been dramatically reduced. In the original, sexier ad on the right, the 33-year-old flaunts her breasts in a revealing, low-cut black slip. But in a second ad, that negligee grew via Photoshop : So what did Hewitt think about the sizable digital breast reduction? “Somebody sent me a copy of the photograph, and I was like, ‘Um, what happened?'” she told N.Y.C.’s KROQ’s Kevin & Bean Show. “I’m not quite sure what’s going on there. But apparently somebody wanted me to have a boob reduction.” Someone moronic? Not necessarily. JLH said she thinks it’s hotter “not to show everything” and won’t go nude for the role, telling ET , “That’s not something that I feel particularly comfortable with.” Sad. Anyway, what do you think of the two ads above?

Andy Cohen RIDICULED on SNL: Watch Now!

On this week’s Saturday Night Live, Andy Cohen was mocked so relentlessly that many wondered if he’d be legitimately offended, but he took it like a good sport. Taran Killam starred as the Bravo host, portraying him as a fame-obsessed, egotistical, flamboyant moderator of Watch What Happens Live … which he sort of is. Still, the snark was off the charts, with a couple of “yeah, they really said that” kind of moments. The source material wasn’t upset by it, however. On the contrary. Upon learning of the skit, Cohen tweeted, “OMG the one night I go to bed early I’m lampooned on SNL?! Great job I am flattered! #ImLikeAShark #VeryCute.” Good to know he can take it as well as he dishes it out: Andy Cohen Saturday Night Live Parody

Lindsay Lohan to Guest Star on Glee!

Undeterred by her legal woes and recent mediocre performance on Saturday Night Live, Glee has been diagnosed with a serious case of … LINDSANITY! Sorry. Some things just never get old. The hit Fox series is in final negotiations with Lindsay Lohan to guest star this spring in one of the current season’s final episodes, according to reports. She’ll be taking on a key role … herself! Once source material for the show – her mom chastised Glee and Gwyneth Paltrow for cracking jokes at her expense – LiLo will serve as a celebrity judge at Nationals. No word yet as to who will join Lohan on the panel, although we would recommend Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Kim Kardashian, with the latter getting flour-bombed . The Glee gig will mark another step in Lindsay’s comeback, which began with a Playboy spread of all things. Her last scripted TV gig was a 2008 arc (!) on Ugly Betty . She’s also in talks to play acting legend Elizabeth Taylor in a Lifetime biopic. As for Glee , producers also recently landed Whoopi Goldberg as a big-name guest star.

Watch the International Trailer for The Help: Heart of Stone

You’ll note that the new trailer for The Help calls Kathryn Stockett’s source material a “sensational bestseller.” That may be, but not much else is screaming “sensation” here: Viola Davis’s one-note dignity, Bryce Dallas Howard’s adversarial prissiness, and Emma Stone’s smiley do-gooder shtick aren’t providing much in the way of originiality. But maybe I’m just cynical; check out the new international trailer and let’s hash this out.

10 TV Characters You Should Name Your Edgy Kids After

This week in sickening news : People name their kids after Glee characters and Betty Draper. A tally of baby names in 2010 shows that “Quinn,” “Finn,” and “Betty” are exponentially more popular spawn labels than they were in 2009. That is too bad. Naming your child is a profound task, and if you plan on using a TV character as source material, the least you can do is not consider the folks who mangled Sally Draper’s childhood or Rocky Horror . Here are 10 characters — with fancy, zeitgeist-tickling names — who deserve your consideration.

New Rabbit Hole Poster: Heavy-Handed or Just Accurate?

We’ve been warned about Rabbit Hole ‘s unremarkable qualities , but I’m still jonesing to see it. Its Pulitzer-winning source material is a modern classic, the flawless Dianne Wiest co-stars, and no holiday season is complete without a big cinematic downer. But in a new poster for the film, the devastation that pervades Nicole Kidman’s life is captured in an image that might be suitable for something less classic — like, say, a Zoloft ad.

Mos Def Signs With Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music

Seasoned Brooklyn MC and ‘Lord, Lord, Lord’ collaborator confirms he’s joining Yeezy’s label in latest issue of XXL. By Vanessa Denis Mos Def Photo: Jeffrey Ufberg/ Getty Images Kanye West has expanded his roster again, and like the most recent addition to his G.O.O.D. Music label, Pusha T, the new signing is another familiar face: seasoned hip-hop favorite Mos Def . The Brooklyn MC and West talk about the deal and break down their musical relationship in the October issue of XXL, which comes out on Tuesday and features a Kanye cover story. And Mos Def makes an appearance on West’s G.O.O.D. Friday single “Lord, Lord, Lord,” along with Swizz Beatz, Raekwon and singer Charlie Wilson. Mos’ decision to join G.O.O.D. Music follows the release of his last album, The Ecstatic, on indie label Downtown Records in 2009. The rapper/actor and Kanye first collaborated on the Chicago MC’s College Dropout, for “Two Words,” and then again on “Drunk and Hot Girls” from Graduation. On “Lord, Lord, Lord,” Mos Def opens the slow-moving track. “Cool ruler standing still, sweatin’ through the shade,” Mos says. “He knew those lights only grew bright to fade/ Dead-wrong pageantry, lottery and games/ Sleight of hand provided by extravagant and fake.” With the signing of Mos Def, West continues his movement, pulling in MCs — often with a devoted following outside the mainstream — who come ready to break down creative barriers. Back in July, Pusha wouldn’t confirm or deny that he’d signed with G.O.O.D: “I mean, you know. I been to Hawaii. Hawaii is a nice place. Good music is made down there, ya know. So, yeah, I was there. I can’t say too much about that.” Of course, that’s no longer a mystery. Pusha confirmed to MTV News at this year’s VMAs that he was onboard with Kanye. The only question remaining is who else will be popping up on the bubbling label. What do you think of Kanye bringing Mos Def into his G.O.O.D. Music fold? Tell us in the comments!
