His eight-year run on Saturday Night Live over, Bill Hader sat down with Howard Stern this week and discussed two of the show’s most buzzed-about hosts: Justin Timberlake. Justin Bieber. While praising Timberlake for always arriving by himself, the comedian couldn’t help but take a jab at Bieber, who apparently showed up to emcee with a giant entourage. Bill Hader Disses Justin Bieber “Justin Bieber showed up with like 20 guys,” Hader said. “He had a guy holding a slice of pizza. A guy holding a Diet Coke. You’re trying to fight through all these people to get dressed.” It’s not a huge deal, of course, except that many have suspected Bieber’s recent string of poor behavior is connected to those around him, specifically some rapper named Lil Twist . As for Timberlake? “It was just him,” Hader said. “He’s a real class act.” We couldn’t agree more from what we know of JT, but the implication is obvious. Bieber? Not as classy.
Come next year, Saturday Night Live will be without its Weekend Update anchor… and, now it’s been confirmed, it’s most entertaining Weekend Update guest. With Seth Meyers soon leaving to host Late Night , Bill Hader confirms he is also departing the iconic sketch comedy series. “It was a hard decision, but it has to happen at some point,” Hader tells The New York Times . “It got to a point where I said, ‘Maybe it’s just time to go.’” Arguably the show’s anchor over the past season, Hader is best known for portraying Stefon… and James Carville… and Vincent Price… and pretty much every game show host. He was promoted to full-time cast member in 2006 and was nominated for an Emmy last year. Hader has also had supporting roles in such films as Superbad and Men in Black 3 . The Ben Affleck-hosted season finale airs on Saturday, while it’s still possible SNL loses Fred Armisen and Jason Sudeikis before the fall.
This can’t be real. I am thinking it is a clip for Russia’s Saturday Night Live and since I’m not from Russia, I’m believing it to be an actual story, because the people they are interviewing are laughing when being interviewed, but it is Russia and weird shit happens there, like this, a story of a man shoving his foot in a guys ass, causing internal bleeding and death. Real of fake, this story deserves attention cuz it’s hilarious.
Congrats Jimmy ! Jimmy Fallon To Replace Jay Leno Via HuffPo reports: NBC has officially announced that Jimmy Fallon will take over “The Tonight Show” in 2014, and Jay Leno will end his run as the host of the show. Bill Carter of The New York Times reports that Fallon, currently the host of “Late Night,” will begin hosting the show in February. Fallon has hosted “Late Night” since 2009, and along with his house band The Roots, has developed a variety show that blends music, celebrity impressions and an enthusiastic approach to the talk show format to make it one of the most unique late night programs on the air. Lorne Michaels executive produces Fallon’s current show, and will produce “The Tonight Show” in addition to his “Saturday Night Live” duties. The news follows months of rumors that Fallon would take over the show when Leno’s contract expires next year. The show will be taped at 30 Rock in New York, the first time the show has been taped there since Johnny Carson left in 1972. In a statement, departing host Leno said, “Congratulations Jimmy. I hope you’re as lucky as me and hold on to the job until you’re the old guy. If you need me, I’ll be at the garage.” NBC has attempted a “Tonight Show” host transition once before. In 2004, they announced that Conan O’Brien, then the host of “Late Night,” would take over “The Tonight Show” in 2009. By the time the transition occurred, Leno was still on top of the ratings, and NBC gave Leno a primetime show to prevent him from going to another network. However, faltering ratings of both programs led to NBC installing Leno as the host once again. The network did not mention O’Brien’s stint as the “Tonight Show” host in its press release about the Fallon transition, instead claiming that Leno has hosted “The Tonight Show” since 1992. Leno told the Times that he felt better about this transition. “The main difference between this and the other time is I’m part of the process. The last time the decision was made without me. I came into work one day and — you’re out.” This transition was largely initiated by the threat posed by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, which moved from midnight to 11:35 earlier this year. Although Leno’s program continues to be number one in both overall ratings and the 18-49 demographic, Kimmel’s show has proven to be competitive. And in the Fall of 2014, Jay Leno will take back the Tonight Show. Jordan Strauss/Jordan Strauss/Invision/AP
It’s happening. The news cycle is about to lap itself. The 85th Annual Academy Awards have barely ended, and no good movies have even come out yet this year, but rumors are already circling about who will host next year’s ceremony. The good news is: the rumors are about Justin Timberlake ! According to our friends at Movie Fanatic, Timberlake may host the Oscars next year. While the JT hosting rumor is just that, a rumor, it makes perfect sense. I mean, JT is one of the least divisive celebrities out there. His publicists should win a “Pubby” for making him so universally beloved. Not to mention, we know that the talented actor/musician can handle hosting live TV. Just this Month JT made his fifth appearance hosting Saturday Night Live . Timberlake is the kind of person who could easily become a perennial Oscar Host a la Bob Hope or Billy Crystal. What do you think? Is JT cut out to host the Oscars? Yes, what a great choice! No, he should stick to singing! View Poll »
Give Justin Timberlake credit: when he comes back to music, he really comes back to music. Having spent the last few weeks promoting his new album (” The 20/20 Experience “) absolutely everywhere – from hosting Saturday Night Live to sticking around Jimmy Fallon all week as the musical guest – JT announced at a release party yesterday that even more new songs are on the way. “I’ve got to clear up the rumors,” the singer said. “This whole thing about this only being the first part … is true. There is another half. I’m not giving you a release date.” Reports, however, claim the second new album of 2013 will be available in November. Timberlake sang three songs from the new album at the shindig in Los Angles: “Mirrors,”” Suit & Tie” and the Latin-infused “Let the Groove Get In.” However, he says the final song on the CD, ” Blue Ocean Floor ,” is the most “unique.” It was inspired by British rock group Radiohead. Why wait so long between albums and then release TWO in a matter of months? Justin explained to Ryan Seacrest: “I definitely enjoy all the entertaining but music is definitely the most special thing to me, and that’s probably why I wait so long in between records, because for me, no pun intended, it’s an experience.”
Social networks are built on the language of “likes” and positivity. Until now, thanks to the Hater App developed by Jake Banks. He decided to develop an alternative app – intended for sharing the things you don’t like – because he feels Facebook et al. restrict us from being ourselves. “It’s really an answer to everything out there. All you can do is ‘like’ things,” Banks told Mashable . “I don’t want to be the guy pretending to be someone I’m not.” “I want to be real and say, ‘I’m sitting in traffic and I hate this.'” While you can post a comment like that anywhere, Banks says a “dedicated community” for dislikes frees up users to re-think the content they share. The Hater app, which launched on the iPhone Friday just in time for SXSW, and will be available on Android within months, looks a lot like Instagram. You can take a picture or upload a photo from your phone, share it with a caption, and view/respond to other posts from the Hater community. Of course, the goal of Hater is very different than Instagram. With Hater, for example, you might take a picture of yourself stuck in a traffic jam – or of a couple of d-bags – to show how much you dislike it/them. Hater’s app also gives users the option to pull an image of something they hate from other sites and to post to the service using an alter ego. “It’s a little more self-deprecating and a little more fun,” Banks says. “You’re sitting at work, working a 12-hour shift and you go on Facebook and you see your friend from high school is on his third vacation of the month.” “He’s taking pictures of his food and all that. Now you can snapshot it and Hate it.” Okay, be honest … who hasn’t wished they could do that?!
Justin Timberlake’s Saturday Night Live performance of his new hit “Suit & Tie” contained a subtle response to unexpected hater Kanye West. Last month at a London concert, Kanye slammed Justin ‘s collaboration with Jay-Z, saying, “I got love for Hov, but I ain’t f–kin’ with that ‘Suit & Tie.'” So on Saturday night, Timberlake changed the lyrics “S**t so sick got a hit and picked up a habit” to “My hit’s so sick, it got RAPPERS acting dramatic.” Smooth and silk. Justin Timberlake SNL Performance Later, Jay-Z came out to join the singer on “Suit & Tie.” Timberlake, whose 20/20 Project album comes out March 19, delivered huge ratings for SNL . Game, set, match.
