The show kicked off with Chance’s hilarious monologue poking fun at Mariah Carey ‘s mainstay performance at Christmas and the debut of his Thanksgiving song. The Chicago native teamed up with cast favorites Kenan Thompson and Chris Redd for a sensational R&B parody that gave us ’90s Boyz II Men vibes. Instead of singing to win back the heart of a lover, the group tried to croon their way back into Barack Obama’s heart so that he’ll save us all and make a return to the White House once more. Get into those vocals, though! Tiffany Haddish’s ‘SNL’ Hosting Gig Will Make History Tiffany Haddish is doing the damn thing this year, and her hard work is definitely paying off. She is showing up absolutely everywhere and seems to be having the year of a lifetime. She has her own comedy special on ShowTime, and of course her critically acclaimed performance on “Girls Trip,” and those two are only just the tip of the iceberg. As Tiffany’s run continues, the comedian will make history as she becomes the first black female comedian to host on “Saturday Night Live.” ⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Haddish wrote on her Instagram the announcement of the historical moment, writing “This Saturday, 11/11 on #SNL !! Can you believe I will be the very #first black female comedian host?!? #SheReady .” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It’s hard to believe that in a 43-season long show, not one female black comedian has been tapped to host the show–but they always have had a lot of issues with the diversity of their own cast. Haddish will host the show on this Saturday, the 11th. Unfortunately, Taylor Swift is scheduled to perform as the musical guest that night. Sad. Gilberto Escamilla, a Juvenile Justice department worker in Cameron County, Texas, was recently busted for stealing over $1 million worth of fajitas after an 800-pound delivery he planned on pilfering was linked to him. “If it wasn’t so serious, you’d think it was a Saturday Night Live skit. But this is the real thing,” District Attorney Luis V. Saenz said according to The Brownsville Herald. Saenz also added that Escamilla admitted to stealing the fajitas for nine years and investigators totaled their worth at a whopping $1,251,578. He was caught after missing a scheduled delivery for a doctor’s appointment. The fajita bandit’s been arrested and charged with first-degree felony theft.

The 4:44 rapper took the stage with Damian Marley to perform their single “Bam” while rocking a “Colin K” jersey inscribed with his large number seven on the back (homage to Kaepernick’s time on the field). Although he didn’t take a knee, as many predicted, JAY-Z’s wardrobe choice was a clever salute Kaepernick’s noble “take a knee” stance against police brutality and racial inequality (a move that many believe led him to being blackballed by the NFL.) Just a couple of weeks ago, the rapper gave Kap a shout out on stage at the MEadows Festival. “I want to dedicate this song to Colin Kaepernick tonight,” Jay Z said before performing “The Story of O.J.” “I want to dedicate this song to anyone that was held back and you overcame.” Since Kaepernick began to protest during the national anthem last year, there has been a huge wave of controversy as other players have followed suit. Through it all, Kaepernick has stood his ground. “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” he told NFL Media in 2016. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. Abby Lee Miller has been sentenced to over a year in prison. But the irritating reality star refuses to slink away quietly. Shocking, right? Two weeks after a judge told Miller she would need to spend 366 days behind bars , due to her admitted role in a bankruptcy fraud scheme, the ex-Dance Moms host has come out firing against the new Dance Moms host. Back in March, Miller laid into producers of this long-running Lifetime hit, slamming them as cheap and chauvinistic and quitting her job as star of the popular show. Just days later, Cheryl Burke was hired to take over on Season 8, which is filming new episodes as we type. After initially expressing basic excitement over the gig in her first set of public comments since being hired, Burke turned her attention toward Miller herself several days ago. Speaking to reporters backstage at Dancing with the Stars, Burke said the following about the effect Miller’s sentencing has had on her former students: “The girls are so precious, and I feel like they are traumatized from what has happened with Abby, and it’s important for me to still be strict and do what I do.” Added Burke: “I expect nothing but the best from the girls, but it’s also important for me to make them feel confident about themselves because they are all beautiful and talented.” Naturally, these words got back to Miller, who did not miss out on an opportunity to stir up a new feud. “I think it’s a joke,” the 50-year-old choreographer tells Us Weekly , expounding: “In my studio, every single day, I had numerous producers, [choreographer] Gianna [Martello] and some type of child advocate service person who’s the tutor/social worker who is there, who watches … everything that’s said, everything that goes on. “So, how could any traumatizing be going on? That’s ridiculous.” That’s a weird response, isn’t it? Burke is simply saying that the girls are having some trouble dealing with the fact that their former instructor is going to prison. As they should be, right? As Miller likely would even want them to be, no? But Abby isn’t even focused with her ex-pupils in this case. She’s focused on the woman who is taking her place on Dance Moms and she’s taking Burke’s remarks very personally. “I think that’s a really rough statement and I would never say that about Cheryl,” Miller tells the aforementioned tabloid. “I think she needs to watch her mouth.” Or… what? Miller is going to an actual prison. She will soon be spending actual time behind bars. She isn’t really one to be making threats at the moment. In closing, the Pittsburgh native also claims that Burke doesn’t have enough experience for her new job. “Doing a show for three weeks is nothing like doing a show for seven seasons,” Miller says, perhaps forgettign that Burke has competed on 19 seasons of Dancing with the Stars. In closing on our end, we’d like to say the following: Miller sucks. A lot. With her gone, perhaps we actually will watch Dance Moms online on or TV each week to see what Burke brings to the table.
