It's official. In case there was any doubt before, all debate has now been put to rest: Sister Mary Jo Sobieck of Marian Catholic High School in Chicago is a better pitcher than 50 Cent. As proven in THIS CLIP , the rapper is on record as having thrown the worst first pitch in Major League Baseball history. So, in that sense, the perfect strike tossed by Sister Mary in the video featured here did not have a high bar to clear in order to be placed higher than 50 Cent's attempt many years ago. But this awe-inspiring nun didn't just head out to the mound on Saturday and barely manage to get the baseball over the plate. No. First, she did a little trick with the ball in her hand and then she threw what can just be described as an ideal 12-6 curveball, one that would have fooled even Aaron Judge or Mike Trout. It floated right down into the catcher's mitt in the heart of the strike zone when all was said, done and applauded. Sister Mary was called upon to make this ceremonial first pitch in Chicago, prior to yet another White Sox loss. They fell to the Royals by a score of 3-1 after the nun left the mound. With a record of 45-77, it's pretty clear the White Sox could use Mary Jo Sobieck on their roster. Maybe not as a starter. Her arm might lack the stamina to go six or seven innings. But as a late-inning reliever? Someone to come in for a batter or two and disrupt the opposing team's rhythm? Someone ordained by God, no less?!? Sign her up, Sox! And check out this footage now, readers! (And then click on the following link to compare this memorable first pitch to past first pitches . Who hurled it best?)

A resident of Bluffton, South Carolina was pulled over for reckless driving last Saturday morning and arrested on a number of charges. This, despite the fact that she was white. That statement may seem like a ridiculous non-sequitor, but it was actually the argument used by Lauren Elizabeth Cutshaw at the time over her run-in with the law. As documented by The New York Post, the 32-year old was caught by police officers blowing through a four-way stop sign at 60 miles per hour around 1:45 a.m. on August 4. With eyes described in the official report as bloodshot and glossy, Cutshaw told the cops that she had only two glasses of wine. But she was allegedly slurring her words and there was a strong scent of alcohol emanating from the vehicle. “I mean, I was celebrating my birthday,” Cutshaw told the cops when they asked her how big the glasses were for her pair of drinks, according to the report. This is a rather aburd excuse for two reasons: Her birthday is on August 9. One’s birthday is not an excuse for breaking the law. But this seemingly typical arrest has gone viral for a different reason. Cutshaw gave the officers what she believes were perfectly reasonable explanations for why they shouldn’t place her under arrest. To wit: She maintained perfect grades during all of her school years… she was a cheerleader … she was a member of a sorority. Oh, and also: “I’m a white, clean girl,” Cutshaw said, according to the report. For some reason, however, this defense did not mean anything to the arresting officers. When the officers asked what, exactly, Lauren meant by this announcement, she replied: “You’re a cop, you should know what that means.” (Translation: You guys only shoot and harass black people. So come on! Give me a break! ) What did mean something to these authority figures? The fact that Cutshaw failed sobriety tests; and that a breathalyzer showed that her blood alcohol at the time was .18 percent (the legal limit in South Carolina is 0.08 percent). The report actually cited Cutshaw’s “white” remark, noting: “Making statements such as these as a means to justify not being arrested are unusual in my experience as a law enforcement officer and I believe further demonstrate the suspect’s level of intoxication.” And also of her white privilege. In the end, Lauren was booked on charges of speeding, disregarding a stop sign, simple possession of marijuana, driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Charles Sykes/Bravo/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images BLOOOOOOP! NeNe Leakes Blasts Fan In Instagram Comment NeNe Leakes is always known to clap back at her fellow housewives and fans alike, and she’s once again going in. NeNe recently went head to head with a fan who told her she looked “unnatural.” “I like you but I gotta be honest with you…you look fake…looking natural is the ultimate beauty,” said a fan. That apparently spurned some shade from NeNe, who told the follower that she’s only striving to please herself. Oh, and her “hater” has a lot of chin fat. Now that’s so nasty and so rude. “Looking and feeling the way you want too is the ultimate goal! It’s about what makes me happy, not you boo!—-you have a lot of chin fat.” If you think NeNe looks “unnatural”, it may be because she really is admittedly knifed up. Back in 2016 NeNe admitted on “Watch What Happens Live” to having a second nose job, but just for medical purposes. “It was a real medical reason why I had to get it done again,” said NeNe. “My cartilage was growing in my nose and my tip was touching my lip when I smile. I didn’t get a full rhinoplasty the first time, I only had my nostrils taken in.” In 2010 NeNe admitted to PEOPLE magazine that she had several plastic surgeries in between RHOA seasons. NeNe admitted to a nose job, a breast reduction, a breast lift and liposuction around her waist. Either way, NeNe’s happy with her look. See NeNe clap back at ANOTHER fan over plastic surgery on the flip.

J ay Z ‘s Made In America is one of the most popular music festivals in the country. However, this year will be its last at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, because the mayor pulled the plug on the location, claiming it was too expensive, even though Roc Nation covered approximately half the costs. However, Jay Z is not happy and wrote a biting piece in The Philadelphia Inquirer , ripping into Mayor Jim Kenney , who quickly responded. See Also: Papa John’s CEO Resigns After Condemning NFL Anthem Protests Jay accused the mayor of evicting the event “through a media outlet, without a sit-down meeting, notice, dialogue, or proper communication.” He said, “It signifies zero appreciation for what Made In America has built alongside the phenomenal citizens of this city. In fact, this administration immediately greeted us with a legal letter trying to stop the 2018 event.” The festival was also a huge boost to Philadelphia’s economy, according to Jay, “Since 2012, Made in America, one of the only minority-owned festivals, has had a positive $102.8 million economic impact to Philadelphia, and the festival has paid $3.4 million in rent to the city. Made in America employs more than 1,000 Philadelphians each day and 85 percent of our partners are Philadelphia-based companies.” Jay also insinuated that race was a factor, “We consider this stance a failure on the mayor’s part. Is this an accurate representation of how he and his administration treat partners that economically benefit his city? Do they regularly reject minority-owned businesses that want to continue to thrive and grow alongside his city’s people?” Mayor Kenney responded via a statement , “The City of Philadelphia supports the Made in America festival and is greatly appreciative of all that it has done for Philadelphia. We are committed to its continued success and thank them for their partnership. We hope to be able to resolve what has been an unfortunate misunderstanding. We are working with Roc Nation and Live Nation to resolve this issue and we are committed to continuing our partnership with the Made in America festival.” No word on where else Made in America will take place but judging from the passive statement above from the mayor, it might just stay at the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia. Fans have roasted Derick Dillard for everything from begging for money from fans to his vitriolic attacks on trans teen Jazz Jennings , the latter of which got him fired. Now, Derick is trying to make himself respectable — even in the secular world. Folks, Derick is headed to law school . Do you want this dude as your attorney? Are you one of the cyber sleuths who noticed that Derick has been following a series of new Twitter accounts lately? If not, you’re probably better off. He’s been following Twitter accounts related to the LSAT and the Bar Exam. Which, normally, a person only does if they want to become a lawyer. A Facebook page (we would not characterize it as a fan site) called Duggar Family News made the announcement . “Derick wi ll be attending The School of Law at the University of Arkansas this fall,” the post reveals. Their page has been a pretty reliable source of info on the Duggars. Coupled with Derick’s Twitter activities, it’s pretty convincing. “Derick is giving up missioning,” the page continues. “Whatever he did at Cross Church, and God, to attend a secular law school.” Obviously, the bit about giving up his faith is hyperbolic. “The cost of law school is $16,000 a year,” the page continues. “Which I assume either Jim Bob is paying for …” “Or,” the post hypothesizes. “He’s got some conservative evangelical group paying his way in hopes that if Derick actually becomes a lawyer he will be forced to work for their causes.” The post suggests that those causes might include “overturning all equal rights laws that greatly benefit deserving human beings. ” That does sound kind of harsh but, given Derick Dillard’s track record, it sounds like something that he would be interested in doing. The page openly asks: “Can Derick make it through the rigors of law school?” “The idiot,” the post continues. “Couldn’t learn Spanish after one-on-one tutoring and living in a Spanish speaking country!” Attaining true, convincing fluency takes a lot of work. But a lot of people were disappointed by Derick’s lack of progress. “He can’t follow simple rules when it comes to posting copyright images or running a fundraiser page,” the post observes. To be entirely fair, a lot of celebrities seem confused about that. Perhaps attending law school will make him more mindful. “Derick,” the post continues. “Lives in a bubble of false news and facts which will be put to the test when secular law professors get their hands on him.” Sadly, real life law school professors are rarely as exciting as they are on How To Get Away With Murder . “My bet,” the post writes. “Is that he lasts almost a year and then suddenly gets another calling from God.” “Next year,” the page predicts. “He’ll be working as a clerk at Walmart.” Duggar Family News might be a great page for leaked info, but we don’t know that we share their vision for the future. Law school may be secular, but there are a number of religious angles for a practising attorney. One, of course, is that some larger churches and religious organizations need lawyers. They can help with everything from major lawsuits to making simple arrangements. Another, as the Facebook page suggests, is that Derick might — perhaps of his own volition — work hard to combat any progress made for equal rights for certain groups. Remember, Derick Dillard says to not make cakes for gay couples . He also claims that accepting transgender children for who they are is “child abuse.” There is another possibility. Depending upon how you feel about Derick, this could be worse. For some, attending law school and even becoming a lawyer is just a means to an end — that end being a serious political career.
