Security Guard Suspended After Punching Female Student In The Face A Chicago Dunbar Vocational school employee is now headed to the unemployment line and possible worse after a school survelliance camera caught him pushing a female student down a flight of stairs, cursing her out, and then punching her in the face when she tried to get up. via NBC News Chicago Public Schools officials removed from duty an employee who was captured on video throwing a female student down the stairs at Dunbar Vocational Career Academy, and punching her in the face. A cell phone video of the incident shows a man who serves in an undefined safety role at the school pushing the student down the stairs. The girl is seen lying on the floor when she is approached by a woman who appears to be a teacher or administrator at the South Side school. The girl then gets up and moves toward the guard, who appears to punch the girl in the face. In addition to the footage of the former employee’s actions, Dunbar students who witnessed the incident were able to provide a little more insight as to why the altercation between the student and the security guard had even began in the first place. Here is the news story: One man is reported dead and two others injured amid reports of a shooting incident close to the Royal Artillery Barracks in Woolwich this afternoon.One witness reported seeing a man beheaded in the street in an attack by two men. The report also said that police officers opened fire after the attack in John Wilson Street in Woolwich. There were reports that shots were fired after an apparent sword attack near the army base. Pictures posted on Twitter appear to show two men lying on the road in Woolwich. The air ambulance landed at the scene and paramedics treated victims in the street. David Dixon, the head of Mulgrave Primary School, told the BBC that he walked out of the school gates and saw a body lying in the street. “We shut all the gates and made sure all the children were inside,” he said. Mr Dixon also confirmed hearing gunshots. The Metropolitan police would only say officers had been called to reports of ‘an assault’ on John Wilson Street. Wellington Street has been sealed off and an air ambulance has arrived on the scene. John Wilson Street is currently shut in both directions between Artillery Place and New Ferry Approach. Twitter user Boya Dee writes an account of the incident online. These details have not yet been verified. He wrote: ‘Ohhhhh myyyy God!!!! At least 51 people, including seven children at an elementary school, were killed Monday by a massive tornado in an area just outside Oklahoma City. Oklahoma City Tornado The tornado was estimated to be at least two miles wide at one point as it moved through Moore, in the southern part of the Oklahoma City metro area. Videos showed a huge funnel cloud stretching from the sky to the ground, kicking up dangerous debris . Officials say the death toll is likely to rise. Emergency personnel were scouring the school’s rubble Monday evening, reports indicate. Footage also showed a number of other leveled buildings. The casualties may be even worse than are being confirmed at this time: Twelve adults and eight children are being treated at the Oklahoma University Medical Center and The Children’s Hospital in Oklahoma City. The Norman Regional Hospital and the Healthplex in Norman, Ok., are treating an unspecified number of people for “trauma, lacerations and broken bones.” Thirteen patients have been moved from Moore Hospital to other hospitals, Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management officials said. Oklahoma Tornado Keli Pirtle, a spokeswoman for the National Weather Service in Norman, Okla., said the tornado touched down at 2:56 p.m. and traveled for 20 miles. It was on the ground for 40 minutes, she said, striking the town of Newcastle and traveling 10 miles to Moore, a populous suburb of Oklahoma City. Pirtle said preliminary data suggested that it was a Category 4 tornado on the Enhanced Fujita scale, which measures tornado strength on a scale of 0-5. Television on Monday showed destruction spread over a vast area of the region, with blocks upon blocks of homes and businesses destroyed. Residents, some partly clothed and apparently caught by surprise, were shown picking through rubble, while several large structures were on fire. Cars were upended, flipped and stacked on top of each other. The deadly storm system continued to churn through the region on Monday afternoon, and forecasters warned that new tornadoes could still form. An earlier storm system also spawned several strong tornadoes across Oklahoma on Sunday. Several deaths were reported then as well. Russell Schneider, director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Storm Prediction Center, said the area’s tornado risk is still high. Florida Teen Expelled And Arrested For Gay Relationship Via Think Progressive : A Florida family says their 18-year-old daughter was charged with a felony and expelled from high school as a result of a consensual, same-sex relationshi p with another student. Kaitlyn Hunt started dating a female classmate at the beginning of the school year when she was 17 and the girl she was about three years younger. According to an account posted to Facebook by Kaitlyn’s mother, in February, shortly after Kaitlyn turned 18, she was arrested on felony charges at the behest of her girlfriend’s parents. The specific crime was “sexual battery on a person 12-16 years old.” Kaitlyn’s mother believes the charges were motivated by anti-gay animus: They were out to destroy my daughter, they feel like my daughter “made” their daughter gay. They are bigoted, religious zeolites [sic] that see being gay as a sin and wrong, and they blame my daughter. But Kaitlyn’s problems did not end there. Her girlfriends’s parents appealed to the school board and had her expelled from Sebastian River High School. Kaitlyn’s mom reports that the State Attorney, Brian Workman, has offered Kaitlyn a plea deal of “of two years house arrest and one year probation.” Kaitlyn has until next Friday to accept the plea deal or face a trial. The family has started a petition calling on the state attorney to drop the charges against Kaitlyn. They do realize that this is unlikely to stop their daughter from having gay relationships, right? The patient, an unidentified woman, complained that the Sacramento-based colo-rectal surgeon told her to practice oral sex on her husband “twice a week” prior to the procedure as a way of allaying the reflex. According to CBS Sacramento, Zegarra made the suggestion in front of the woman and her husband “several years ago.” The station also noted Zegarra had tried twice to expunge the complaint from the public record. Zegarra’s name appears on a summary of administrative actions taken by the California board of medicine in 2007. CBS Sacramento reports that a spokesperson for the state board of medicine called the doctor’s suggestion inappropriate, even if it was meant as a joke.
