There is apparently no end to Lilo & Stitch creator Chris Sanders’ talents, from doing a great Nicolas Cage impression to braving the bitter cold at the NYC premiere of The Croods – with no jacket! Just how impressed was Ryan Reynolds with Sanders? “This is my first animated movie I’ve ever done, and I was doing one subsequently right afterwards and I learned so much from [the directors] that I shifted the sessions in the next animated movie to feel more like this one!” The Croods is director Chris Sanders’ second film for Dreamworks Animation, where he defected to after clashing with Disney over American Dog. ( The title became Bolt after his departure). Is he still enjoying his new home? “Every film we make we get, like, better technology — so even better!” Plus he’s already hard at work on How To Train Your Dragon 2 . But his co-writer and director, Kirk De Micco, chimed in to say there was one area where Dreamworks Animation struggled — creating digital tar! The request threw the animators for a loop. “How deep is the tar?! How sticky is the tar?! Does it stick to their clothes?!” Good thing Sanders and De Micco were there to answer their questions. It’s Tuesday afternoon, time to figure out what James Franco has done today to merit our attention. Well, lookie here: The Spring Breakers star has donned lipstick, eye shadow and a Rolling Rock cap to promote the release of the music video for “Love in the Old Days (Ted James 1999 Mix)” by his band with fellow Rhode Island School of Design alumnus Tim O’Keefe. Better yet, Franco directed the clip and cast one of his underground idols, Scorpio Rising filmmaker and Hollywood Babylon author Kenneth Anger as a theremin-playing occult priest. Yeah, it’s that kind of freaky. James Franco’s Band, Daddy: ‘Love in the Old Days (Ted James 1999 Remix)’ Music Video Interview magazine posted the exclusive on its website on Tuesday, and Franco released this statement about the clip: “Kenneth Anger has been an influence on me since I was first exposed to ‘Kustom Kar Kommandoes’ and ‘Scorpio Rising,’ but especially ‘Scorpio Rising,'” explains Franco. “When I went to NYU for film, I was always looking for ways to Anger up my films. My first one in particular, ‘The Feast of Stephen’ owes a lot to Anger, the way his camera transformed a gang of real 1960 bikers into homoerotic gods. In other films and projects I loved the way he took celebrity and the occult and fused them in [Sergei] Eisensteinian juxtapositions to achieve a greater, spiritual/aesthetic significance.” “I was asked to do project about a marriage,” Franco continues, describing the footage used in the video. “I wanted to do two marriages and call it ‘The Marriage of Heaven and Hell after Blake.’ I could think of no one better to preside over the marriage of Hell than Anger. He is a force. A fusion of art, pop-culture, magik and sex. He is the voyeur-king.” Franco certainly Angered up this video, which depicts an occult wedding ceremony at a strip bar and one helluva French kiss near the end. Call it Scorpio Settling Down . T.J. Lane – an 18-year old who pleaded guilty last month to killing three students in an Ohio State cafeteria in February 12 – was sentenced to consecutive life terms in prison today. And he drew attention to himself throughout the hearing by smiling, cursing… and donning a “Killer” T-shirt. Lane pointed his middle finger at the victims’ relatives at one point, while Dina Parmertor, whose son Daniel died in Lane’s attack, referred to the culprit “a pathetic excuse for a human being” and wished upon him “an extremely, slow torturous death.” Lane smiled as Dina spoke. Prosecutors say the teenager used a .22-caliber pistol to fire 10 shots at a group of students in his school’s cafeteria. Those fatally wounded included Daniel Parmertor and Demetrius Hewlin, both 16, and Russell King Jr., 17. A few months ago, Lane was ruled mentally competent to stand trial. In addition to three life sentences with no chance of parole, Judge David Fuhry also handed out sentences totaling 37 more years for attempted murder and felonious assault and using a weapon in Lane’s crimes.
Joseph Corlett, a 57-year old former Oakland University student, filed a federal lawsuit Friday against the school because he believes his right to free speech was infringed upon after a journal essay submitted for class resulted in a suspension. Corlett was banned from campus for a paper he handed in titled “Hot for Teacher,” named for the 1984 Van Halen single. Van Halen – “Hot for Teacher” (Live) In the 2011 essay – which the university labeled as a form of “intimidation” – Corlett referred to his professor as “tall, blond, stacked, skirt, heels, fingernails, smart, articulate, smile.” Along with a three-semester suspension, Corlett was forced to undergo sensitivity training. He was also refunded his tuition for the duration of the suspension. Corlett, who insists his instructor told him no topic was off-limits, told The Detroit News from his home in Florida: “This is all about civil rights. I can’t, as an American in good conscience, stand by while such outrageous and egregious violations of civil rights transpire in higher education. I couldn’t sleep at night.” We’re guessing the $2 million might help with that. “He’s filing this suit on his behalf of himself and on the behalf of students who attend Oakland and possibly will attend Oakland University in the future to ensure that their free speech rights are upheld,” said his Detroit-based attorney, Alari K. Adams.

Here’s my Bieber experience. It started when I entered a competition on BieberFever to win meet and greet passes. I didn’t think one bit that I would win. It was the 6th March and I stayed round my friend’s house as we were preparing to go find Justin the next day to go and meet him. At around 8.00 p.m. that night, I received an e-mail saying that I had won M&G passes for the 7th! My friend and I couldn’t believe it! We were crying and everything. I just hoped that the M&G would be perfect and that I could actually have a decent picture after previous experiences I have had before. It came to March 7th and we were absolutely buzzing. We had tickets for his concert anyways and we were sitting on the floor, block A1, Row Q. We got to the arena and picked up our meet and greet passes at around 4 p.m. We waited until 7 p.m. as Justin arrived and the M&G line started to go down. We got told that we weren’t allowed individual photos because we won the M&G passes whereas the people who bought them could. The line went down and we started getting really nervous. It was finally our turn to meet the Biebs! I went in first in our group of 5 and said “hey” to Justin. He was like “Hi!” He was so perfect, his tan and everything.. oh my. He put his hand straight round my waist to get ready for the photo and said, “Shall we have a funny picture.” My friend and I were like “No, do a nice one!” He was like, “Okay, okay,” and chuckled. Then we had our photo and security made us get out but luckily before, he smiled at me and gave me a proper side hug. His arm was proper pulling me towards him. I died haha. We walked out and he said, “Enjoy the show guys,” and we smiled at him! It was PERFECT. Luckily I got to stand next to him and I am SO happy with my picture!! He looks so beautiful. The concert was phenomenal! Our seats were so close and Justin definitely knows how to pull of an excellent show! It’s amazing to see how much he has developed since the My World Tour to the Believe Tour. I was so blessed to be there and meet him. Although he didn’t perform OLLG as he nearly fainted, he came back even though the doctors told him not too to finish off the show. What a performer! My name is Alicia and if you told me three weeks ago that I wouldn’t just be meeting Justin once, let alone twice, I would have laughed in your face. However, on the 20th February that all changed. I was on Twitter just looking around on there and I saw that WHSmiths were going to do a book signing on the Saturday 23rd February. I had to get a ticket. At 6 p.m. when the tickets went on sale I made sure I was on Ticketmaster. I pressed the refresh button and managed to get one ticket to the signing. I was actually going to meet my idol after 3 years, I couldn’t stop crying and jumping around. I printed off my ticket and headed up to London on the Saturday with my mum. Once, we entered the room where he was signing I couldn’t believe it. This was actually happening, I was actually going to meet my idol! As I got closer I saw Alfredo and he smiled at me and my mum gave him the #BelieveSurprise leaflet and he said, “Thank You.” Then I had to give my book to this man who gave it to Justin to sign. When Justin handed my book back to me, I just started to cry and all that came out of me was, “Thank you so much.” My dream had come true. He may have only smiled at me but I didn’t care. He knew I existed at last. After, we went outside and waited for him to come out. We waited till about 5:15 and when he came out everyone went mental and just started to run for his car, but security and the police stopped everyone. It was a phenomenal day that I will never forget! Then, as a member of BieberFever, I had entered the M&G competition back in January to try and meet him on the 4th March. I completely forget I entered it. I went and checked my emails at about half 7 on Sunday 3rd March. I was surprised to see an e-mail from BieberFever, “ Congratulations , Alicia! You’re officially invited to attend the photo Meet and Greet TOMORROW NIGHT March 4 th In London.” Was this real life? Was this actually happening? People had always told me don’t give because YOU will meet him. I never believed them, but this was actually happening again and I would have a photo with him this time. The next day while I was on the coach, I noticed that there was a girl from Twitter on there and that she also went to my school. My mum didn’t want to go into the M&G and when she got talking to the other girl’s mum, we offered to give her daughter the other wristband. Of course the girl said yes. It’s nice to know that I helped another Belieber’s dream come true! When we got to the O2 we ran to the box office to pick up the wristbands only to be told that it had finished. However, they weren’t going to get rid of us that easy. They eventually gave us the wristbands and no one knew where we had to go. We were talking about how we never thought we would have this opportunity after three years of supporting him. At about 6:45 they started to let people in. Of course we were at the back of the line but I didn’t mind. We got into a group of 5 with these three other girls from Spain who flew over just to see Justin and were also lucky to win from BieberFever. Then it happened. Security pushed us in and pushed me NEXT to Justin. All I remember is Justin having his arm around my waist for about 7 seconds, looking at the camera, smiling, tapping Justin on the shoulder and saying, “I LOVE YOU, FOLLOW ME ON TWITTER @BIEBSSWAGUK.” That’s it. It all happened so quickly. I remember him smiling at me and about to say something to me but then security pushed us out as quickly, as they pushed us in. I was in complete shock. Did I just stand next to Justin? Did he just touch me? Did he just smile at me? OMG. I came out and I just screamed and security told me to shut up. I couldn’t help it. My whole life had been made. Then it was time for the concert. I have never heard such a loud noise before, the whole thing was just insane. March 4 was beyond the best day of my life. Nothing will ever beat it! Not even 24 hours after reportedly fighting with bodyguard Big Pat and ditching him in Bermuda, Chris Brown turned his rage on a valet parking guy last night. It all went down at PINZ bowling alley in Studio City last night, where CB was attending a charity event with his posse. Sounds like a fun evening. Maybe it was, until he began cursing over a $10 valet parking charge. Chris Brown Gets Pissed at Valet After the valet made it clear he couldn’t release the singer’s ride without that extra amount, Chris his crew surrounded him. “F*ck ten dollars!” Brown said.
