Marion Adams – a multimedia teacher and track and field coach at Rio Londa High School in California – died this week in a terrifying bicycle accident, reports The Sacramento Bee . The 59-year old was riding away from practice on Monday when he looked over his shoulder to bid farewell to a student. Tragically, Adams therefore failed to see a partially opened metal gate in the school parking lot and could not slow down in time to avoid it. He was impaled on the structure, rushed to Mercy San Juan Hospital and initially survived two surgeries to treat internal injuries before passing away. “Marion was the most popular and nicest man on campus; just a great guy,” Athletic Director Mike Morris told the newspaper. “It’s a huge loss, devastating to our community.” Hundreds attended a vigil held for Adams on Tuesday night. Adams, who coached at his alma mater, is survived by wife Kathy, son Joe and daughter Sarah and two grandchildren.
Charlie Sheen wants to save Lindsay Lohan. No for real, he wants to step in and help the spiraling train wreck, and says he’s got both the credentials and credibility to make a difference in her life. Sheen says he may be her best shot, too. The actor tells TMZ, “I have a kinship with somebody [Lindsay] who clearly needs a mentor, whether she wants one or not.” “She can continue to hang out with her dress shredding club buddies , or turn to a guy who’s been down the road as well as every other side trail on the journey.” “If she listens, she’ll win. If she doesn’t, that’s on her.” Charlie and Lindsay are also friends, it’s worth noting. The duo forged a connection on the set of Scary Movie 5 , after which Charlie cut her a $100,000 check to help with her mounting tax problems. Lindsay’s now returning the favor by appearing on Anger Management , although that may be Sheen helping her again more than the other way around. She’s broke. Like big time. Things have gotten so bad financially that the $100,000 from Charlie barely made a dent, and that’s just her tax problems. Also, Charlie still claims they’ve never hooked up , “I love her, I respect her, and I’ve never laid a finger on her that wasn’t on film. Teri James, a former employee of San Diego Christian College, has hired Gloria Allred to sue the school for allegedly firing her for engaging in premarital sex. James told The Today Show that she did sign a contract stipulating she would not take part in “sexually immoral behavior including premarital sex.” But “I needed a job in this economy and so I never thought that anything would happen,” the 29-year old said. James said she was subsequently embarrassed called into her supervisor’s office last year and asked if she was pregnant. Upon giving confirmation, she was fired. Oddly enough, James assert the college later offered a position to her now-husband, even though officials were aware he had sex before getting married, as well. During a news conference this week, James said she felt she was treated unfairly: “I was unmarried, pregnant and they took away my livelihood.”

Teenage Student Allowed To Wear Anti-Gay T-Shirt At School A Connecticut high school student who was originally told that he couldn’t wear his anti-gay t-shirt on school grounds has now been permitted to wear the shirt after the American Civil Liberties Union declared banning the shirt a violation of the student’s first amendment rights. via CBS News The American Civil Liberties Union of Connecticut says officials in a school district are reversing themselves and allowing a student to wear a T-shirt with an anti-gay message. The ACLU announced Tuesday that the lawyer for the school district says Wolcott High School student Seth Groody may wear the T-shirt, which bears a slash mark through a rainbow. The other side showed a male stick figure and a female stick figure holding hands above the legend, Excessive Speech Day. The student wore the T-shirt in April 2012 which was designated as a Day of Silence at Wolcott High School as part of a national movement to raise awareness of bullying and harassment of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people, reports CBS affiliate WFSB in Hartford. The ACLU says it was prepared to sue the school district. School attorney Christine Chinni wrote to the ACLU this month saying Groody may wear the T-shirt. The mother of Michael Jordan’s alleged love child never planned to file a paternity suit against the NBA legend, but the child himself reportedly insisted. According to TMZ, Pamela Smith had no desire to sue Jordan until her son pleaded with her to make his (alleged) dad admit paternity and pay support. Taj Jordan (Michael Jordan Secret Son) Video Pamela Smith is suing Michael for just that, paternity and child support, claiming MJ got her pregnant while he was still married to Juanita Vanoy. Sources close to Smith, who says Jordan knocked her up in 1995, has always had a good relationship with Michael and doesn’t need the money. However, it was her son Grant Reynolds (a.k.a. Taj Jordan) who desperately wants MJ to acknowledge him and urged her to file the legal documentation. Smith’s intention, her friends say, was never to “call Michael out” but simply to have the (alleged) father be a bigger part of his life for his sake. Allegedly, Michael and Grant have met a few times over the years. Pamela claims Michael has even given the family money and gifts here and there. Grant, 16, always had to keep it a secret, though … until he apparently decided not to anymore. The teen made the above video last December. No response yet from Jordan or his camp.
So, this actually happened in Pennsylvania this week… When a receptionist from an Ambridge doctor’s office phoned to remind student Travis Clawson that he had an upcoming appointment, the call went to voicemail No biggie, right? Except the receptionist heard the words “shooting” and “school” on the outgoing message… which led her to contact the police… who notified school officials… who instituted a lockdown of every school in the country. Fresh Prince Theme Song After 20 minutes, Clawson was finally tracked down in the guidance office and it was determined that the receptionist simply heard the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air theme song on his voicemail, which refers to “shooting some ball outside of the school.” Police Chief James Mann and District Attorney Anthony Berosh both spoke to Clawson and cleared up the issue. No charges will be pressed and we can only presume, with the situation hilariously resolved, that all parties then returned to chilling out, maxing, relaxing all cool…

Several photos of Adam Lanza, accused Newtown, Conn., school shooter, have emerged, along with information about the troubled youth’s past. Adam Lanza was spending more time alone in the months leading up to the mass shooting as his mother, Nancy Lanza, encouraged him to be independent. He suffered from mental disabilities, a joint Hartford Courant/Frontline investigation reports in a new documentary, entitled “Raising Adam Lanza.” The Lanza documentary airs Tuesday night on PBS. In it reporters from the Courant attempt to retrace the steps taken by Nancy and Adam in recent years. What they found complicates the picture that has occasionally appeared in the media of Nancy as a gun obsessed mother who was in denial about her son. Adam is believed to have shot his mother four times in the head as she slept on December 14 before shooting his way into Sandy Hook Elementary. There, he killed 20 children, six women and himself. Sandy Hook conspiracy theories aside, all evidence points to the fact that Lanza acted alone. The question is why, and if anyone could’ve seen it coming. The 20-year-old had been spending more time alone in his mother’s home in the affluent Connecticut suburb in the months leading up the shooting. Adam’s social world began shrinking after he left Newtown High School at age 16 to enroll in a nearby college, where he made As and Bs before withdrawing. Since 2010, Adam had not attended school. Between 2010 and 2012, Nancy took Adam to gun ranges to practice shooting. She purchased four firearms, including one used in the attack, during that period. Friends say Nancy used that as a way to bond with a withdrawn son. Police also found thousands of dollars worth of violent video games in the Lanzas’ home. Police believe Adam may have been inspired by the video games, since he changed the magazines of his weapons more frequently than was necessary. Adam may have been “competing” with Norwegian mass murderer Anders Breivik, based on news articles about Breivik’s 2011 crime they found in the home.
