We gotta hand it to them… pretty dope: A father who lost his arm in an accident six years ago has been given a new lease of life by a hi-tech bionic hand which is so precise he can type again. Nigel Ackland, 53, has been fitted with the Terminator-like carbon fibre mechanical hand which he can control with movements in his upper arm. The new bebionic3 myoelectric hand, which is also made from aluminium and alloy knuckles, moves like a real human limb by responding to Nigel’s muscle twitches. Incredibly, the robotic arm is so sensitive it means the father-of-one can touch type on a computer keyboard, peel vegetables, and even dress himself for the first time in six years. youtube

More swirly babies for Halle Berry ? If Nahla has her way the answer is YES. Via People : “Every night, we do our prayers,” Berry says Thursday on The Wendy Williams Show, of herself and 4½-year-old Nahla Ariela. “We pray to God, so sweet. She says, ‘God, please bring me a bunk bed and a baby sister.’ And I say, ‘I can do one of those things, I know for sure. The other one, we’ve got to keep praying on.’ What do you say to her when she wants that and can’t understand why God’s taken so long?” Berry, who doesn’t elaborate on whether or not she plans to have more children, says she’s grateful she had Nahla at a later stage in life. “I’m a much better mother at 46 — or 41, when I had her — than if I were like 21 or 25,” she explains. “I mean I was just a little baby just trying to figure it out — trying to figure out who I was, let alone having the responsibility of trying to help another little soul develop and grow. I’m so glad I waited.” Berry acknowledges that the career she signed up for involves being scrutinized by the media, but she doesn’t believe Nahla should be affected by it. “She’s just a little kid, and I just want her to be a little kid, and have normalcy and be like everybody else,” Berry says. “As her mom, that’s my job — to provide her with that, you know? It’s frustrating when you feel like you can’t.” At 46, we’d be kind of surprised if Halle had another kid, but who knows — she is planning another marriage and maybe Olivier wants a little one. Her family’s tryin’ to act like they don’t know anything about it but her bedsores and infested apartment prove that she wasn’t being taken care of. A team of rescuers had to tear down a wall in the apartment she lives in with her family and kids just to get her out! According to the Daily Mail: A 500-pound woman is recovering in hospital after she was found lying in her own waste covered in bedsores and maggots. The unidentified woman, 41, had to be extricated from her Detroit apartment by a team of experts and taken to St John Oakland Hospital where she will remain in intensive care for the next two days. She lived at the home with her husband and four children. Now questions are being asked about why no one did anything to help her sooner. The family revealed she has been bed ridden ever since a 2011 car accident which left her with a smashed pelvis. The woman was on some kind of state assistance, which may have been cut off, according to a preliminary investigation, officials said. The apartment showed signs of a bio hazard, insect infestation and was deemed uninhabitable after a fire crew removed a wall in order to rescue the woman, according to The Detroit News. Her children – two toddlers and a teen – have been turned over to the care of an aunt. The house has been sealed with the belongings inside. Police spoke to the woman’s husband – who has also not been identified – who said he tried to help her. Crying, he said: ‘I love her and it was hard, and it was just me. And I just did the best I could for so long.’ Warren Police Commissioner Jere Green revealed he also spoke to the children and sister and said an investigation is underway. ‘Obviously, there was a failure somewhere for this lady to get the care that she needed.’ Looks like her hubby’s best wasn’t too good for her OR their dayum kids!!!
