Why Darren Criss Might be the Next Michael Emerson, and Why That Isn’t a Good Thing for Glee

The unwritten rules for the second season of a hit television series are similar to the ones governing movie sequels: Everything has to be bigger, has to be louder, and has to include at least one major casting addition. In the case of Lost , the second season brought increasingly convoluted stakes (The Hatch! The Others!), some shocking character deaths (Shannon!) and the addition of Michael Emerson to the already bulging cast. What began as a well-received guest role for the veteran New York actor became a three-and-a-half season stay on the devilish island. Emerson’s breakout performance not only forced Lost creators Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse to shift their narrative, but also cemented him forever in the minds of television watchers as Benjamin Linus. Glee star Darren Criss is on a very similar path, and because of that, it might be time for Gleeks to get concerned.

Kourtney & Kim Take New York, Set Ratings Record

The series premiere of Kourtney & Kim Take New York proved that the Apocalypse is upon us set a ratings record for this franchise, garnering three million viewers in its original 10 p.m. time slot. Glee’s Heather Morris on Her Viral Rap Video, Sofia Vergara and Her Lesbian Make Out Scene

The second season of Glee has been an important one for Heather Morris. The actress — who portrays Brittany, the ditzy New Directions member who believes that Dr. Pepper is a dentist — became an official series regular, made her singing debut (in her character’s titular episode), out-danced Britney Spears and established herself as the most reliably funny actor on the Emmy-nominated series. Knowing all of this, Movieline made a point to track down the Arizona-raised back-up-dancer-turned-actress at Tuesday night’s Fox TCA Press Party to ask the break-out triple talent about her hilarious viral rap video , the possibility of a lesbian relationship on the show and her character’s patented one-liners.

Kenny Powers Gets a Gun in the Trailer for Eastbound & Down

“A man who has seen the things I’ve seen; experienced the loss and pain that I’ve experienced… I transcend race, hombre.” So says Kenny Powers at the beginning of the first real trailer for the second season of HBO’ s Eastbound & Down . That the disgraced former Major Leaguer — who escaped to Mexico during the season one finale — has a wicked set of cornrows should come as no surprise to anyone who has seen a subway ad or billboard promoting the Sept. 26 premiere. That Powers has a collection of firearms, however, might.
