Selena Gomez Tells Fans She’s Doing ‘Much Better’

Teen star performed a mini-show with her band the Scene on Monday, after a brief hospitalization. The Disney star spent the weekend recovering after being hospitalized last Thursday in Los Angeles for a combination of food poisoning and exhaustion. The 18-year-old singer/actress took the stage for a performance at the Santa Monica Place mall Monday afternoon, wearing a flowing, white blouse over a white tank top, black shorts, and black strappy heels. Gomez and her band, the Scene, played two of her hit songs, “Who Says” and “A Year Without Rain,” to cheers from the crowd. Gomez thanked her fans profusely for coming out to see her and for their support, especially in the last few days. She also apologized for missing her original appearance, which had been scheduled for this past Friday. “I want to thank you so much for coming. If you guys came on Friday, I’m so sorry that I couldn’t be here,” she said before the band struck up the first few notes of “Who Says.” “I love you guys very much.” Although Gomez didn’t do any crazy dance movies or flips, she performed each song with plenty of energy. Her voice sounded strong and steady. At the end of the second song, the teen star answered a few questions from fans in the audience, mostly pegged to her experience filming the upcoming movie “Monte Carlo,” around which the event was organized. Gomez did take a brief moment to assure her fans (and the throng of reporters also gathered) that she’s feeling just fine. “I’m feeling much better, thank you,” she said. The video for her song “Gucci Gucci” has been viewed nearly 3 million times, she inked a deal with Columbia Records and now, she has found herself both the darling and the bane of the blogging world. But in that whirlwind, Kreayshawn may have found herself a fairy godfather, of sorts. One of the executives vying to get Kreayshawn’s name on the dotted line was Sean “Diddy” Combs. Diddy has expressed interest in many of Cali’s up-and-coming rap acts, from Odd Future to Lil B, and he recently took to Twitter to court the Based Goddess. When Kreayshawn finally decided to go with Columbia, she said Diddy was initially upset. “He hit me and he was mad about the whole signing thing. He was like, ‘Yo, I wanted to work with you, blah, blah blah,’ ” Kreayshawn recalled. The upstart rapper went on to reveal an amusing tidbit to the Bad Boy mogul. “Honestly, I’ve always had a picture of you next to me and my kindergarten picture,” Kreay recalled telling him. “I always put it on my wall, and I tell people, ‘That’s my dad. P. Diddy’s my dad.’ And he was like, ‘Yo, I have to adopt you.’ ” Kreayshawn, who visited the MTV News offices last week in New York, said she hadn’t heard from Diddy during her visit to the city. However, the idea of being signed to a major record label was already growing on her. She once thought signing a contract meant handing over control of her dreams to someone else. “You’ve messed up. Something has gone wrong. By Christina Garibaldi Christina Grimmie Photo: MTV News Selena Gomez gave everyone a scare on Friday when she was hospitalized for nausea and a headache after an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.” Among those anxiously asking after her health was Gomez’s pal and the opening act on her upcoming tour, Christina Grimmie, who is happy to report that the singer is doing fine. “I texted her and asked if she was OK,” Grimme told MTV News on Monday (June 13). “I talked to her mom and [she] said she’s doing well.” Grimmie has become a close friend of both Gomez and her family ever since the Disney star’s parents came across Grimmie’s YouTube channel. The 17-year-old up-and-comer’s covers of pop songs from Lady Gaga to Nelly have made her an Internet sensation — her videos have been viewed more than 142 million times to date. But after Selena’s stepdad, Brian Teefey, messaged Grimmie’s brother, her career began to take off for real. “My brother texted me during math class and said, ‘OK, so I think Selena’s parents are trying to contact you,’ ” she recalled. “Obviously, my first reaction was like, ‘Come on now,’ but it was from Selena’s [YouTube] channel. So we got together, and that’s how I got hooked up with her.” Now, Gomez’s parents, Mandy and Brian Teefey are Grimmie’s managers, her debut EP, Find Me , drops via iTunes at midnight on Monday, and she’s slated to hit the road next month with Selena Gomez & the Scene and All Star Weekend for a summer tour. “My sound right now is pop-synthy-dance. I’m very much a rocker chick; I like to throw in some rock,” Grimmie said of her album. “Hopefully, my sound will evolve into something even bigger and better, but right now I’m thrilled with my album.” And while her career gets going, Grimmie is still looking to Selena as an example of how to handle the early stages of fame. “She’s been great,” Grimmie gushed of Gomez. “I can’t explain it — she was in my place at one point, but what I’ve learned from her is, just to keep going.” Related Artists Selena Gomez

Is Justin Beiber About To Be A Teen Dad???

We hope this isn’t the case, but facts are definitely pointing to Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez’ puppy love having gotten a little too real. On Friday, TMZ reported that Selena was rushed to the hospital in NYC on Thursday night, following her appearance on “The Tonight Show”. Sources tell us … Gomez was feeling horrible during and after the show, complaining of nausea and a severe headache. She was taken to a Los Angeles area hospital and is still there, undergoing tests. We’re told the exact cause of her illness is not yet known. She then proceeded to cancel a Friday night performance, while still not saying if what had landed her in the hospital was a stomach virus, food poisoning, exhaustion or any of the countless excuses young stars use when they randomly go to the hospital. Selena Gomez Returns to Hospital for Blood Pressure Tests

She isn’t pregnant. Nor has she come down with Bieber Fever. Instead, sources say Selena Gomez was rushed to the hospital on Thursday night – and then returned there again yesterday – due to concerns over high blood pressure. Doctors have not yet discovered the basis for Selena’s nausea and headache, which landed her under their care to begin with last week, following an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She hopes to perform for fans on Monday at Santa Monica Place, which would kick off a 10-city tour for the artist. Let’s hope she makes it and is feeling fine!

Multiple sources confirm that Selena Gomez was rushed to the hospital last night, soon after taping an interview with Jay Leno. The 18-year old singer was reportedly complaining of nausea and a headache and remained overnight to undergo tests. We hope Selena is feeling better today.
