SMH: White Colorado Senator Says Blacks Are In Poverty Because They Eat Too Much Fried Chicken

Chicken makes you poor apparently… Colorado Senator Says Blacks Are Poor Because They Eat Chicken Via NewsOne reports: Colorado state Senator Vicki Marble, R-Fort Collins, has the cure for poverty in the Black community: Stop eating all that chicken! Yep, Marble said, according to the Denver Post. “When you look at life expectancy, there are problems in the black race,” Marble said during a meeting of the legislature’s Economic Opportunity Poverty Reduction Task Force. “Sickle-cell anemia is something that comes up. Diabetes is something that’s prevalent in the genetic makeup, and you just can’t help it. Although I’ve got to say, I’ve never had better barbecue and better chicken and ate better in my life than when you go down South and you, I mean, I love it. Everybody loves it.” Marble added that Mexicans, for example, have healthier diets in their homelands but stop when they immigrate to America. “The Mexican diet in Mexico with all of the fresh vegetables, and you go down there and they are much thinner than they are up here. They’ve changed their diet. I’ve read studies on that.” That Marble is a member of the task force is what makes her remarks even more disturbing. The comments offended several legislators on the committee, including Rep. Rhonda Fields of Aurora, who is Black. Listen to the full interview below…

Whitey Bulger Verdict: GUILTY Of Federal Racketeering, Murder

The verdict is in for James “Whitey” Bulger, and the infamous Boston mobster was found guilty of federal racketeering and some murders, as expected. The man who eluded FBI investigators for 16 years after building a reputation as one of the city’s most ruthless mobsters was convicted of 11 killings. Whitey Bulger Guilty Whitey Bulger, 83, was charged with participating in 19 murders as well as 13 counts of extortion and money laundering, among various other crimes. The jury concluded he was directly involved in 11 of 19 murders, and also found him guilty on weapons charges, money laundering, and conspiracy. He faces life behind bars. As he left the courtroom, he reportedly gave the thumbs up to his brother Jack, while someone yelled, “Rat a tat tat, Whitey.” Jurors took more than four days and 33 hours of deliberations to convict Bulger, in what amounted to a sensational, headline-making 40-day trial. Specifically, they said his connection to one of the many murders – the shooting death of Roger Wheeler – was proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Convicted hit man John Martorano testified in the trial that he shot Wheeler in the head after the executive finished a round of golf at a Tulsa country club. The killing was sanctioned by Bulger, head of the Winter Hill Gang. Though jurors said Bulger’s involvement in the the murder of Michael Donahue in 1982 was also proven, the victim’s son Tom Donahue was shocked. “I’m not satisfied with the verdict – he should have been guilty for all those murders,” he said. “He should have been found guilty of everything.” He added of the mobster, “He doesn’t care about anybody he killed, he doesn’t care about anybody he extorted, he’s just a sick psycho individual.” In closing arguments during the trial, prosecutors called Bulger a “vicious, violent and calculating” criminal who methodically hunted his victims. Bulger had long been one of the FBI’s most wanted criminals when authorities astonishingly captured him at his Santa Monica, Calif., hideout in 2011. His former henchmen testified against him, including Kevin Weeks . The two gangsters shared volleys of profanity and shouting in the courtroom, as Bulger lashed out at Weeks for saying he was worse than a murderer. In any case, Bulger will never again see the light of day.

Rodeo Clown in Missouri Dons Obama Mask: Disgraceful or Deserved?

When does clowning around cross the line? That’s the question currently being debated after a rodeo clown at a Missouri State Fair donned an Obama mask this weekend and asked the crowd if it wanted to see the President “run down by a bull.” According to those in attendance, audience members clapped and cheered every time Obama’s name was mentioned in such a manner. Clown in Obama Mask Riles Up Missouri Crowd Soon after the show, those behind the State Fair issued an apology on Facebook for such an “inappropriate and disrespectful” stunt, while Republican Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder condemned the act via Twitter, writing: “We are better than this.” Governor Jay Nixon and Senator Claire McCaskill also expressed disdain for the performance. “The young Missourians who witnessed this stunt learned exactly the wrong lesson about political discourse – that somehow it’s ever acceptable to, in a public event, disrespect, taunt, and joke about harming the President of our great nation,” said McCaskill in a statement. Some conservatives, however, are defending the stunt as an example of free speech and also pointing to the many George W. Bush Halloween masks that were worn years ago as proof that this sort of pranking happens all the time, across both aisles. Where do you stand on the issue? A rodeo clown dressing as President Obama is…   Disgraceful, show some respect! Totally fine, ever heard of free speech?!? View Poll »

Newark Mayor Cory Booker Makes Official Announcement That He Is Running For Senator!

SuperBooker is ready to take it to the next level Newark Mayor Cory Booker Announces That He Is Running For Senator Via HuffingtonPost Newark Mayor Cory Booker on Saturday formally announced he’s in the race to finish the U.S. Senate term of the late Frank Lautenberg. The 44-year-old Democrat made his candidacy official at a news conference Saturday in Newark, New Jersey’s largest city. He was joined by former U.S. Sen. Bill Bradley, a former pro basketball player who for 18 years held the seat Booker is seeking. Bradley, who endorsed Booker, called him “the right person for the right office at the right time.” Booker began raising money for a Senate run even before Lautenberg, who died Monday, announced retirement plans in February. He had raised $1.9 million by the end of the last reporting period in March. Reps. Frank Pallone and Rush Holt are also planning to enter the Democratic primary. Booker is considered the early front-runner. Pallone, 61, had $3.7 million in his campaign coffers at the end of March and has deep union support. Holt, 64, a former research physicist, had $800,000 on hand. No need to worry though, Cory has always been gangsta at gettin’ gwap. According to a Senate campaign filing made in May, Booker has brought in $1.3 million for 90 speeches he has given around the country since 2008. His campaign says he has donated the majority of that money to charities that serve Newark. Booker’s campaign has said that the networking he does ultimately helps the city. In 2010, he was seated next to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg at a dinner during a conference in Sun Valley, Idaho. Two months later, Zuckerberg announced a $100 million donation to improve education in Newark. Would you cast a vote for Newark’s charismatic mayor?

Hillary-Michelle in 2016? All-First Lady Ticket Generates Buzz

There have been presumptions that former First Lady, Senator and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will make another White House run come 2016. She leads a recent 2016 presidential poll (yes, there was one), and given her resume and name recognition at this point, that’s not a real surprise. But this is: Another, even more intriguing idea floating around the web this week is that current FLOTUS Michelle Obama could be her running mate. “All due respect for President Obama and Vice President Biden, but that would truly be a dream team,” former Clinton spokeswoman Karen Finney said. “Both women are proven leaders who’ve raised children, so dealing with Congress would be a snap!” she added, having apparently never seen Congress. Democratic strategist Chris Lehane also said that “this reflects the growing awareness that it is time for the glass ceiling of the last old boys club to be firmly shattered.” “I look forward to the day when a woman can run for the presidency without so much parody and fanfare,” ex-Al Gore campaign manager Donna Brazile said. A recent poll from Qunnipiac University found that in a hypothetical presidential race, Hillary Clinton would likely trump any Democratic challengers. “Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton would start a 2016 presidential campaign with enormous advantages,” said Qunnipiac’s Peter A. Brown. “She obviously is by far the best known and her more than 20 years in the public spotlight allows her to create a very favorable impression on the American people.” As for Michelle Obama joining the ticket? We’d put the chances of that at just above microscopic, but a future run for office could be more likely. Clinton ran for U.S. Senate in the last year of husband Bill’s presidency, serving from 2001-2009 before joining the Obama administration as its top diplomat. Most likely, if she’s interested in politics at all beyond 2016, Michelle would follow that blueprint. Until then, let the speculation continue to run rampant.

Homeless Heir, Set to Inherit $19 Million, Dies

Timothy Henry Gray, a homeless man, died under a railroad overpass in Wyoming – just before learning he stood to inherit $19 million from a reclusive New Yorker. Eccentric Huguette Clark (pictured) who died in 2011 and left nothing of her $300 million fortune to her family in her will, but relatives challenged the document. That meant her great-nephew Gray, 60, stood to inherit $19 million. Sadly, children playing on sleds discovered Gray’s body in the snow on Thursday. The former cowboy died of hypothermia in the 10-degree Evanston, Wyoming weather. The death of his 104-year-old relative caused a flurry of media attention because of Clark’s wealth and reclusive nature, which evoked comparisons to Howard Hughes. She hadn’t even been photographed since 1930. Clark was the daughter of United States Senator and industrialist William Andrews Clark, who made a fortune in copper and other ventures. Although she dabbled in art and once exhibited her paintings, Clark distrusted family members and strangers because she feared they were after her money. The fate of her fortune is still unclear.
