Adam Jasinski Sentenced to Four Years in Prison

Over a year since he was arrested in North Reading, Massachusetts, Adam Jasinski has been sentenced to four years in prison. The champion of Big Brother 9 – who actually used his reality show winnings to set up a drug ring that included co-star Matt McDonald – was busted in October 2009 for trying to sell 2,000 oxycodone pills to a government informant. Smart, he is not. It’s a good thing Adam Jasinski has experience living with strangers in tight quarters. In handing down the sentence to the 32-year old, U.S. District Court Judge William Young decreed: “You were drug trafficking, and you were drug trafficking until they caught you. You got to a position where you thought that the rules didn’t apply to you.” Said Jasinski, who admitted to being treated for bipolar disorder and drug addiction: “I’m sick. I won $500,000 and I blew it all. I apologize. I’m a mess… Give me a chance to get out and find out who I really am.”

Tony Parker Files to Divorce Eva Longoria

Tony Parker has filed to divorce Eva Longoria, even though the reverse had already taken place. This could very well mean a legal showdown in the making. Tony’s divorce petition was filed in Texas. Eva filed for divorce earlier in the week in Los Angeles, setting up a battle over where the couple’s case is heard. Texas divorces can be handled fast, in as little as 60 days. It’s unclear if Tony Parker’s Erin Barry sexting would be a lesser factor in one state or another. Tony and Eva Longoria Parker are divorcing after three years . Tony’s stated reason: “The marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities between Petitioner and Respondent that destroys legitimate ends of the marriage and prevents any reasonable expectation of reconciliation.” Interestingly, they have a prenup, but in Tony’s petition he writes, “Petitioner believes Petitioner and Respondent will enter an agreement for the division of their estate.” Since they’ve already signed a prenup, the word “will” is puzzling. Tony’s petition also states, “Petitioner owns certain separate property that is not part of the community estate of the parties.” We’ll see if a judge agrees. Neither Tony’s lawyer nor Eva’s camp has commented publicly. Finally, in an ironic twist, Tony is being represented by attorney Richard Orsinger, the same lawyer who is repping Brent Barry … his former teammate. His former teammate and the husband of Erin Barry, who was just revealed as Parker’s mistress / sexting buddy last week. Conflict of interest much?

Wesley Snipes: Finally Headed to Jail

He may have proven that white men can’t jump, but Wesley Snipes has also made it clear that felons can’t avoid jail time. The actor – who was convicted of tax evasion in 2008, but spent years going to extreme lengths to avoid his sentence – had his latest appeal rejected by a federal judge this week. Told he “had a fair trial” and that “the time has come for the judgment to be enforced,” Snipes will finally be heading to the clink. “Wesley is very disappointed but staying strong and positive,” his lawyer told The Orlando Sentinel . It’s unclear when or where Snipes will start serving the sentence. So much for always betting on black, though.

GLAAD Gets CNN Poll Spiked, Finds It ‘Troubling’ That an Opponent from MRC Allowed in CNN Story

The gay left hates debate – especially the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation. They’re furious that CNN Headline News offered balance and came to the Media Research Center’s Culture and Media Institute for a negative opinion on homosexuality. That’s apparently beyond the pale. Mediaite reported that GLAAD succeeded in pressuring CNN into spiking an online poll that asked the question “Is the surge in gay TV characters ‘bad for society’?” On the GLAAD blog , Aaron McQuade found it was “troubling” for CNN to allow dissent: The report then goes on to give a troubling amount of airtime to anti-gay activist Dan Gainor from the Culture and Media Institute , who does believe that it’s “bad for society” to offer authentic depictions of the lives of LGBT people. He remarked that, “Hollywood has done a great deal of work causing acceptance in American culture for homosexuality.” Why would you object to this sentence? This happens to be as factual as asserting that the sky is blue. It also acknowledges GLAAD’s power to pressure Hollywood. The only answer is that Gainor seems to disapprove, and disapproval is not allowed. It’s a false “dualism” to allow debate: But CNN’s offensive poll and its attempts to manufacture controversy by granting a platform to so-called experts like Gainor follows an alarming trend of media outlets creating simplistic, predictable “pro-gay”/”anti-gay” dualisms that do a great disservice to viewers who are seeking information on the diversity of opinion and experience within our community. We will continue to challenge this type of coverage. That is, the “type of coverage” that allows anyone to disagree.

T.I. Lawyers Unsure How Arrest Will Affect Probation

Federal probation office ‘is in the process of determining what happened,’ according to reports. By Mawuse Ziegbe T.I. Photo: Moses Robinson/ Getty Images With another album heading down the pike, a hit movie in theaters and a new bride on his arm , T.I.’s post-jail future was looking very bright. However, in the wake of his Wednesday night arrest for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, the MC’s lawyers said they are not sure whether the ATL rapper will head back to prison. “T.I. is going to be back on his way to Atlanta in the next 24 hours,” Don Samuel, one of T.I.’s lawyers, told the Atlanta Journal Constitution on Thursday (September 2). “It’s almost certain he’ll end up appearing before the court here. But without knowing all the facts, it’s premature to speculate what the court is likely to do.” Another member of T.I.’s legal team, Dwight Thomas, echoed Samuel’s assertions and told The Associated Press that, “We don’t have a full grasp of the facts, circumstances. We don’t know the violation.” Thomas added, “I will remain optimistic until this matter is favorably resolved.” “We’re not making any observations at this time,” said T.I.’s defense attorney Ed Garland. “This is an unfortunate occurrence, and we do not know what the outcome will be.” T.I. and his wife, Tameka “Tiny” Cottle, were arrested Wednesday in Los Angeles after the Grammy-winning MC made an illegal U-turn. Officers searched the car and its passengers after smelling marijuana emanating from the vehicle. An unspecified number of pills “resembling ecstasy” were found and the couple were taken into custody. They were released early Thursday morning after posting $10,000 bail each. At press time, it was not clear whether the incident is a violation of T.I.’s (born Clifford Harris Jr.) three-year probation. The rapper has remained under supervised release after wrapping a prison stint for felony gun charges he picked up in 2007. U.S. Attorney Sally Yates told the AP that officials were still reviewing the situation. “The probation office is in the process of determining what happened and will make a recommendation regarding Mr. Harris when they have all the facts,” she said. A former United Nations Ambassador and high-profile T.I. advocate, Andrew Young, expressed concern upon hearing of the rapper’s latest brush with the law. “I assume that you’re innocent until you’re proven guilty,” Young told the AP. “If he was driving and smoking marijuana, that is absolutely stupid. But why was he pulled over in the first place? Because he had a Maybach? Because he was black? Because they know who he is and resent his success?” Young was one of many supporters present in Atlanta when T.I. was sentenced to one year and one day in 2009 for felony weapons charges. The length of the sentence was part of an exceptional plea deal that would have allowed the rapper the possibility to be released earlier for good behavior. T.I. ended up serving seven months before being transferred to a halfway house to ride the remainder of his sentence . After entering the halfway house in December, Tip had his full-term release this past March. The star is also obligated to complete approximately 400 hours of community service, meet with a probation officer regularly and obtain permission to travel. DNA testing, drug counseling and the agreement to submit to reasonable searches are also conditions of his probation. Related Photos T.I. And Tameka ‘Tiny’ Cottle Related Artists T.I.
