New HBO Series Game of Thrones to Be Naked as Hell

Game of Thrones , the new HBO fantasy series set to premiere April 17, is going to be “beyond R” in the ratings department, according to the show’s producer David Benioff . Benioff, who wrote the screenplay for the 2004 mythological epic Troy with a naked Diane Kruger , is taking full advantage of HBO’s skinthusiasm for the female body as represented in shows like The Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire . The series, which features 300 star Lena Heady , is based on the award-winning series of epic fantasy novels by George R. R. Martin called A Song of Ice and Fire . And Benioff is going to make sure that all the dirty parts make it to the screen. Hopefully some of them will include Lena! “Here, because we have ten hours to tell the story, we’re able to include all the major characters… and we’re able to do it the way George does it in the books in terms of the darkness of it and the violence of it and the sexuality of it, which a major studio would never let you do, even if you’re lucky enough to get an R rating,” Benioff told Access Hollywood . “George’s world is a violent world – there’s a lot of killing and bloodshed and eviscerations and decapitations and there’s a lot of sex. It’s one of the things that I loved about these books.” Game of Thrones sounds like something you would play with yourself.

10 Favorite Stories of 2010: Louis’s Picks

I spent 2010 hailing 30 Rock , defending American Idol , mixing it up with Erin Andrews and Isaac Mizrahi, and figuring out all the things Snooki looks like. (My favorite: A hat rack where Cher hangs all her old parts.) Ahead, I revisit my ten favorite stories of the year, and yes, my video dalliance with Diablo Cody and Megan Fox makes the cut.

30 Straight Actors Who Have Gone Gay For a Film Role

While Richard Chamberlain and John Travolta might agree that Hollywood is still not a safe place for leading men and women to be open about their sexuality, the entertainment industry has embraced and rewarded the heterosexual men and women willing to play gay on-screen. The latest example is Mickey Rourke, who has confirmed that he too will join that bandwagon by playing Welsh rugby star Gareth Thomas (who announced that he was gay just last December) in an upcoming biopic. In honor of this role — which, hell, might win Rourke the Oscar that evaded him for The Wrestler , when he lost to someone on this very list — Movieline reviews which hetero actors have gone gay or transsexual for a role, and which were awarded Academy Awards along the way.

It Doesn’t Get Better: Richard Chamberlain Thinks Gay Actors Should Stay in the Closet

Much was made in recent weeks about the sexuality of John Travolta and Kevin Spacey , but whatever their preference, one actor thinks they should continue to keep that bit of personal information personal. “For an actor to be working is a kind of miracle, because most actors aren’t, so it’s just silly for a working actor to say, ‘Oh, I don’t care if anybody knows I’m gay’ — especially if you’re a leading man,” Richard Chamberlain told The Advocate . “Personally, I wouldn’t advise a gay leading man-type actor to come out.”

Media’s Double Standard Continues When Reporting Child Sex Abuse

Here are two stories from this past week: 1. “A [newly released] General Accountability Office (GAO) investigation has found that people with histories of sexual misconduct are still getting hired by school systems across the [United States] … The biggest problem may be 'passing the trash.' These were cases GAO found in which school systems just let suspected sexual offenders resign, and even wrote them glowing letters of recommendation, so they could find teaching jobs elsewhere.” 2. “The Dublin (Ireland) Archdiocese should have taken action years earlier against Tony Walsh , probably the most notorious child sexual abuser among its priests, according to [a] commission investigating clerical child sex allegations in the archdiocese.” The Church laicized Walsh (removed him as a priest) in 1995. read more

One-Sided CNN Omits Conservatives From Prop 8, Gay Teen Coverage

CNN continued its one-sided coverage of homosexual issues with two segments on Monday's Newsroom which featured only liberal activists. Anchor Kyra Phillips endorsed the work of Kamora Harrington and her “True Colors” group , which “organizes the largest LGBT youth conference in the country.” Correspondent Dan Simon played a sound bite from one of the opponents of Prop 8 without playing any from supporters. Phillips led her segment with Harrington, which began 38 minutes into the 10 am EST, by hyping the apparently dire situation with homosexual teens: “Gay bullying, gay suicides- they're sad stories that we keep hearing over and over again. But if the anecdotes weren't enough, there is a pair of new studies detailing just how hard it is to grow up gay.” After playing a clip from a student discussion group which her guest regularly holds, the anchor turned to her and gave her first hint that she endorsed her organization's work: read more

Pirelli Calendar Behind the Scenes Tits of the Day

I like tits. I don’t really like the artistic vision behind a calendar people only know about because of the tits. I don’t really need a behind the scenes on the shit and I didn’t really watch more than 4 minutes of the shit, but that doesn’t mean you won’t draw inspiration from this, inspiration for what, I’m not quite sure, but I am sure I’m glad to be left out of the loop on this one, cuz knowing I may aid some of you in jerking off makes me question my sexuality, luckily some of these models bring it back home.
