SMH… Umpqua Community College Shooting An Oregon community college is on lockdown after a shooting. A reported 10 people are dead and more than 20 others are reportedly wounded. CNN reports: Preliminary information indicates 10 people were killed and more than 20 others injured in a shooting at Oregon’s Umpqua Community College on Thursday, said Oregon State Police spokesman Bill Fugate. Douglas County Commissioner Chris Boice told CNN that the shooter is in custody. It was not immediately clear whether the shooter was injured. ATF agents were on the scene and canine teams are en route to search for explosives, fire arms casings and ammunition, a spokesman said. Earlier, authorities told had said they were responding to reports of an active shooter at the Roseburg college campus. Roseburg is a city of about 22,000 people located about 70 miles south of Eugene, Oregon, and some 180 miles south of Portland. This story is still developing… Continue reading

Kiera Wilmot Was Arrested When Her Volcano Was Mistaken For A Bomb Before the infamous photo of high school student Ahmed Mohamed in handcuffs was viewed across the country, another teenager, Kiera Wilmot, was arrested for almost the same thing just 2 years ago! Via WTSP : Last week, officers arrested the 14-year-old at his Texas school after showing up with a homemade clock, mistaken as a fake bomb. “Before, I was really scared that no one was going to care about me because I’m Muslim and now everyone wants to interview me because of what happened,” Mohamed said. What followed was outrage and support, even an invitation to the White House. The charges were dropped once it was figured out the suspicious device is a clock. While it’s a unique case, look no further than our area and you’ll find it’s happened before. “I was thinking how could this happen again?” said Kiera Wilmot. Wilmot, now 19, was a 16-year-old student at Bartow High school in Polk County. Back in 2013, she was arrested after showing off her volcano science project, mistaken as a bomb. “No rights read to me, [I was] taken in a police car from school to a juvenile assessment center,” she said. But, just like Mohamed the community came out to her defense. “I think what they did was amazing. How he had all the support behind him and what took my charges to be dropped within a month, took him only a week.” The school district in Texas, however, stands by their decision. “It’s a little bit disappointing that there are so many comments on social media from people who I don’t think have the complete story and we have an obligation to protect all 2800 students here at MacArthur,” said Lesley Weaver, spokesperson for the Irving School District. Kiera is now a mechanical engineering major at Florida Polytechnic University and hopes to meet Mohamed one day!

Mom Says Her Son Isn’t Racist For Threatening To Kill Middle Eastern People A racist tweet sent out last week from a teenager in Bakersfield, California is getting major national attention. Via Raw Story : The tweet, since taken down along with the Twitter account, was the handiwork of a recent high school graduate whose mother stated that neither her son nor her family are racists. Posted on the eve of the anniversary of the attacks on the U.S. dating back to 2001, the tweet read: ““Gonna go kill some towel heads tomorrow in honor of 9/11, who’s with me?” Informed of the threat, Sgt. Joe Grubbs, a spokesperson for the Bakersfield Police Department, said that, while they investigate all threats, what the teen did is not illegal since he didn’t make a specific threat against a person. “Nothing about that is illegal. He’s well within his first amendment rights to say something like that,” Grubbs said, adding, “From this tweet, I don’t think there’s really anything to be scared about.” The mother of the unidentified teen initially told reporters that her son would not apologize, later issuing a statement that he was sorry, but that he would not be talking to reporters. In a statement she wrote: “I would like to state that I never said my child wouldn’t apologize. I just stated that he would not be interviewed, as he is a minor. He knows he made a huge mistake, and he is very sorry. He has been taught right from wrong and would never do something like that. My child is not racist. We are not racists. The story has been twisted. As a mother, I am protecting my child. That is my job.” Really?!?

The baby mama blasted Ross for paying to maintain the luxurious lifestyle of his THOTS like Lira Galore instead of paying for the education of his own kids. She’s spent all day posting pics of Rick with just about everyone — Jay Z, Diddy, LeBron James, T.I., and French Montana — begging them to convince Rick to give back the whip.
