Well now, her biological father has come forward with his own set of photos of the little girl in an effort to show that he is indeed in her life. The user known as @madison_mike quietly popped up on Instagram yesterday evening and began posting recent daddy/daughter snaps with the “fatherless” child Jayceon has been touting as his own all over social media. These pics look pretty recent…if the man in the photos truly is Madison’s father, there is no way that she doesn’t know who he is at all. However, whether he is a constant presence in her life or a supportive figure truly remains to be seen. It’s great that The Game wants to step up for a child who needs a parent…but where does he fit into the equation as a father figure if she already has a father in her life? Fans Petition For FIFA To Ban Blackface At The World Cup Spread the word, a petition for FIFA to take a formal stand against racism is gaining major steam across the world. A Care2 petition demands the international soccer governing body FIFA stop tolerating fans in blackface at the World Cup games. The Care2 petition has more than 14,000 signatures. FIFA has strict rules against other fan behavior — for instance, fans are prohibited from bringing musical instruments or carrying water that isn’t bottled by Coca-Cola. They’re also prohibited from wearing Beats headphones — Beats was recently acquired by Apple, and FIFA has a licensing deal with rival Sony. FIFA has also granted sole beer rights in the stadium to Budweiser, prohibiting any other beer from being sold or brought inside. Also among the 18 banned items are inflatable beach balls and flags. But if fans show up in blackface, that’s apparently par for the course. Al Jazeera reports that three fans at Saturday’s France v. Switzerland game dressed in blackface in an apparent attempt to mock Candomblé, an Afro-Brazilian and Caribbean religion. During the Ghana v. Germany match, “at least a dozen” German fans showed up in blackface. Fans in blackface have been documented on social media, invited to do TV interviews, or otherwise shown up in photos. FIFA’s failure to crack down on racism is incompatible with its #SayNoToRacism campaign, which the governing body says is an effort to “fight to eradicate racism and discrimination in football.” The campaign invites supporters to take selfies, “a random selection of which will be shown before kick-off on the giant screens in the stadiums before the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ quarter-finals…Simply post a picture of yourself on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram by 4 July, when the FIFA Anti-Discrimination Days begin, holding a banner reading #SayNoToRacism.” Join the movement and sign the petition HERE

Hundreds of mostly poor minority students who used a controversial Missouri law to transfer out of failing schools will be sent back to their home districts next school year , following a tense battle in the legislature and a slew of politically charged decisions by the department of education. Whit School District Sends Poor Black Kids Back To Failed Schools Via The Grio reports: The reversal puts the academic fate of some of the state’s most needy and disadvantaged students at risk. Last summer, the Missouri Supreme Court upheld an earlier ruling that allowed students from unaccredited school districts to transfer to better schools. Thousands of students from the African-American suburbs of St. Louis streamed across the border to much wealthier, white districts and better-performing schools closer to home. But the exodus triggered a number of unexpected consequences. The failing districts were financially responsible for paying all transfer-related expenses, including tuition and transportation costs. As a result, the transfers nearly crippled one school district in particular, the Normandy schools, which has paid about $10.4 million to a dozen different school districts. The costs for the Normandy district, which is about 97% black and whose student body is deeply impoverished, forced the legislature to appropriate supplemental funding to keep it afloat. Attempts by the legislature to tweak the law to alleviate some of the burdens placed on schools by the transfer law were stymied when Gov. Jay Nixon, a Democrat, threatened to veto a proposed bill. The legislature’s intransigence forced the issue back to the state board of education. The board recently voted to replace the Normandy School District with a new district, the Normandy Schools Collaborative, effective July 1. The new district includes the same boundaries and schools as the old district, but by changing its name, the district is now no longer unaccredited and therefore eligible under the transfer law. The decision to rebrand the district has offered a legal loophole to the districts that had reluctantly and begrudgingly accepted the minority transfers in the first place. Last Friday, school leaders at the well-off Francis Howell district announced that they would no longer accept incoming transfer students and that about 400 students who had previously transferred to the district this school year would no longer be welcomed. “FHSD has consistently held the belief that transferring students from an unaccredited school district is not the solution to improving struggling schools and that the funds spent on tuition and transportation for transfer students can be more effectively spent on educating the whole Normandy student population,” read a statement released by the Francis Howell School District. “Children have a right and a need to have quality schools in their neighborhood.” The financially strapped and academically struggling Normandy School District paid Francis Howell more than $4 million in tuition costs and nearly a million in transportation costs. A man was charged with two counts of child abuse after using pepper spray on two children, police said. Florida Man Arrested After Pepper Spraying Kids Playing In His Yard Two boys, ages 8 and 10, were playing by mailboxes in the 300 block of Country Club Oval shortly after 5:45 p.m. Wednesday when they were confronted by resident Wilbert Vreen, according to a police charging affidavit. The boys told police that Vreen sprayed their faces with pepper spray, which a witness confirmed, according to the affidavit. “They displayed signs consistent with being sprayed by pepper spray, which were watery eyes and mucous on the upper lip,” according to the affidavit. Vreen, 58, told police that, while he did own pepper spray, he had not used the spray on the boys, but did say they were bothering him, according to the affidavit. Records show Vreen was being held Thursday at the Volusia County Branch Jail on $10,000 bail. Only in Florida !
