According to ESPN , Wade’s not too happy and took his frustration out via twitter : Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade has been suspended one game without pay by the NBA for flailing his leg and making contact with the groin of the Charlotte Bobcats’ Ramon Sessions. The suspension was announced Thursday by Stu Jackson, the NBA’s executive vice president for basketball operations. “I’m far from being a dirty player + my intent was never 2 kick Ramon Sessions,” Wade tweeted Thursday night in reaction to the suspension. “I just reacted to the contact that I got from him…. More than anything, I think of my boys watchin me be4 retaliating 2ward any player. Im moving 4ward + ready 2 get back on the court in MIL.” The incident happened with 8:12 left in the fourth quarter of the Heat’s 105-92 victory over the Bobcats on Wednesday night. All those duck face pics might just end up in a commercial, you scared Instagram Changes Privacy Policy To Allow Photo Sales Without Compensation Via CNN Users of Instagram, the popular photo-sharing app owned by Facebook, were up in arms Tuesday over language that appears to give the company ownership of their images. A new update to Instagram’s terms of service states that data collected through the app can be shared with Facebook. That’s not a surprising move, considering Facebook paid an estimated $1 billion for the photo-sharing service earlier this year. But the language that’s upsetting some of the app’s more than 100 million users says that “a business or other entity may pay” Instagram for the use of user images and may do so “without any compensation to you.” That didn’t sit well with some — including Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s wedding photographer. “Pro or not if a company wants to use your photos for advertising they need to TELL you and PAY you,” Noah Kalina wrote Tuesday on Twitter. Kalina stopped short of vowing to quit Instagram, saying he hopes that language will be deleted. The proposed changes are set to go into effect January 16. Other folks aren’t as patient or accepting of the new policy as Noah. A popular Twitter feed associated with the hacker collective Anonymous was urging its more than 780,000 followers to dump the app Tuesday morning. “Only way to opt out of @instagram selling your photos is deleting your account,” wrote the person who runs the account. “Sounds good to us. #BoycottInstagram”. The feed posted image after image of screen shots from followers who had done just that. It claimed it was receiving thousands of such images — too many to count. The new terms would significantly broaden what Instagram can do with users’ content. Currently they say, “Instagram may place such advertising and promotions on the Instagram Services or on, about, or in conjunction with your Content.” While many don’t seem concerned about the new policy, the celebrity IG users may want to pay attention to this change. Wil Wheaton, who parlayed a child-actor stint on “Star Trek: The Next Generation” into becoming one of the Web’s earliest star bloggers, wrote that he doesn’t use Instagram. But he questions whether other “celebrities to some degree” could be exploited if they do. “If someone Instagrams a photo of Seth Green walking through an Urban Outfitters, does that mean Urban Outfitters can take that image and use it to create an implied endorsement by Seth?” Wheaton wrote. “What if the picture is taken by a complete stranger? Who gets final say in how the image is used? The subject, the photographer, or Instagram?” What do you think? According to The Huffington Post , John Sims publicly apologized after other lawmakers and residents complained: “To those of you who were genuinely offended, I offer my deepest apology,” said Sims at Tuesday’s workshop meeting. “Rest assured that I will continue to serve our city well and continue to work equally for all people in Cooper City regardless of religion, ethnicity or social status.” The comment Sims posted Nov. 30 read: “Just wanted to let you know … today I received my 2013 Social Security Stimulus Package. It contained two tomato seeds, cornbread mix, two discount coupons to KFC, an ‘Obama Hope & Change’ bumper sticker, a prayer rug, a machine to blow smoke up my ass and a ‘Blame it on Bush’ poster for the front yard. The directions were in Spanish. Yours should arrive soon.” Newly elected Mayor Greg Ross made a last-minute decision to add the item to the city’s workshop meeting after he received an outpouring of email from outraged residents. “The residents’ phone calls asked me to please ask him to resign or to fire him,” said Ross. “I don’t have the right to do that. It’s the citizens who vote him in and the citizens’ right to vote him out.” Ross added that Sims would benefit from “sensitivity training.” Resident Gabriel De Gedeon shared with the commission his family’s distaste with Sims’ comment. “Those comments are 100 percent bitter and ignorant,” he said. “I’m shocked that those offensive comments were written by a Cooper City commissioner.” Sims said he did not come up with the post on his own; rather, he reposted it from another site. “The post was done as a humorous commentary,” he said. “I deeply regret that I failed to consider that some might find it offensive.” Resident Jimmy Jones, who is the Hollywood assistant police chief, originally brought the comment to the city’s attention and requested Sims’ resignation last week. Jones said he was open to an apology from the commissioner Tuesday night. “As a resident in this community since 1999, I want my community served by people who care about everybody in the community,” said Jones, who is white. Another resident, Christine Timmons, defended Sims, saying he should not be humiliated for exercising his right to free speech. “Every time a white person opens his mouth, people say, ‘Oh, he’s a racist,’” said Timmons, who is black. “He can say what he wants to say. He’s got a right to free speech like anyone else.” The mayor and commissioners said they do not condone Sims’ comment and apologized to the city’s residents. “The comment was vile, offensive — it reminds me of a Neanderthal comment because it’s very backward. But now the friendship between singer Rita Ora and Rihanna, the superstar she once modelled herself on, has turned sour. Just seven months after revealing how she was honoured to be compared to the Diamonds singer, it appears that Rita, 22, is trying to distance herself from the Caribbean-born star. Rita said: ‘Rihanna is cool and fun but we couldn’t be more different. She is from Barbados and I am from Kosovo and that should say it all really.’ At the Cannes Film Festival in May, Rita was gushing about her rival. Royce Corley, 27, will appear in Manhattan Supreme Court on Tuesday on two counts of promoting pr0stitution that could earn the accused flesh-peddler up to seven years in the slammer. Corley allegedly advertised his steamy service through the notorious website backpage.com, according to court papers first reported by Mario Diaz of PIX 11. But the Harlem man’s father says the NYU-Poly graduate is a nerdy systems analyst who posted a few ads for an acquaintance. “They didn’t know how to do it, so they asked him,” said Richard Corley, 53. “He’s a good kid.” Con Ed fired Corley “without a conviction,” his father said as he fumed. The company did not comment. Cops nabbed Corley in January after raiding his apartment and an alleged “crash pad” in tony Gramercy Park, where the 17-year-old girls took johns. They also seized his Con Ed computer and taped a phone call. But Corley is no pimp, his lawyer said Monday. “My client maintains his innocence,” lawyer Glenn Hardy said. “He … knows nothing about this alleged ring.” Court papers show cops found $1,000 and nearly 20 cellphones in the apartment and alleged sex den, as well as a booklet with names and phone numbers allegedly linked to the shady business. Neighbors of the lair said they saw johns cycle in and out. “This very nice-looking young guy rings the bell,” said a resident. “He comes down a while later tucking his shirt into his pants.” The police targeted Corley after one of the girls spilled the beans about the ads, which were paid for by the suspect from his Con Ed computer, cops said. The amount of antibiotics pumped into pigs is just plain ‘ole ridiculous! According to The Huffington Post : A new Consumer Reports investigation of pork sold in grocery stores found that a startlingly large proportion of tested meat contained one or more potentially harmful bacteria, some of which showed signs of antibiotic resistance, raising new concerns about the safety of the national pork supply. But the investigation didn’t find the pathogens traditionally associate with pork — trichinosis and salmonella — to be the most widespread problems. Instead, a whopping 69 percent of the pork chop and ground pork samples tested by the magazine contained Yersinia enterocolitica bacteria, which sickens about 100,000 people a year, many of them children. Eleven percent contained Enterococcus bacteria and 7 percent contained Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. Another 4 percent contained salmonella and 3 percent contained listeria. In general, the ground pork samples were more likely to harbor pathogens than the chop samples. The overwhelming majority of the bacteria found in the samples was resistant to at least one form of antibiotic — ranging from 63 percent of the Enterococcus to 93 percent of the Staphylococcus aureus. And many of those that were resistant to one kind of antibiotic were also resistant to several others. Most experts believe that the widespread administration of non-therapeutic antibiotics in livestock — which makes animals grow more quickly than they otherwise would — contributes to the proliferation of antibiotic-resistant bacteria in the environment. But antibiotics aren’t the only drug given to livestock. The Consumer Reports investigators also found traces of the drug ractopamine, which promotes growth and leanness in pigs, in about a fifth of the samples tested. Ractopamine is legal and generally considered fairly safe in America, but it is banned in China, Taiwan and most of the EU, and has been associated with anxiety and restlessness among those who ingest too much. The nearly 200 samples came from major grocery chains and national brands of pork from throughout the country. Consumer Reports recommends that consumers cook all their pork to 160 degrees to ensure that the bacteria, at least, is killed. In one shot, the vehicle is viewed through Lexxa’s bare legs. In another, the tattooed girl is draped over the hood, revealing her cleavage, bra, and come-hither stare. In yet another, Lexxa leans against the trunk of the car, throwing her butt and her smirk toward the camera. Ultimately, Ridley sold the car, which had 49,964 miles on it, for $7,500 on Nov. 15. And according to TMZ , the cops are siding with Olivier and Halle on this one and there’s some shadiness going on… Although it appears no criminal charges will be filed against Gabriel Aubry in the Thanksgiving Day massacre of his face at Halle Berry’s house … cops on the scene concluded he was the instigator … TMZ has learned. According to the police report, after interviewing Gabriel, Olivier Martinez and Halle, the investigating officer concluded, “Suspect [Gabriel] arrived at victim’s [Olivier] residence for child custody exchange. Suspect and victim engaged in verbal altercation. Suspect became upset and attempted to punch victim’s head but missed and struck victim’s right shoulder instead. Victim returned with 3 punches to the suspect’s head, causing him to fall to the ground. Victim’s fiance [Halle] notified police.” It’s interesting … Olivier and Gabriel each claimed they said nothing to incite the other, but the report concludes both were smack talking. According to the conclusions in the police report, Olivier acted in self defense: “Victim defended himself and punched the suspect.” And law enforcement sources tell TMZ … Gabriel never told police about the alleged death threats made by Olivier both the day before and during the fight … threats he later claimed were made by Halle’s fiance. What’s more, cops contacted Gabriel after the fight and asked if he had more info, and he passed. There was no mention of death threats. Too little too late?? Angus T. Jones released a statement grovelling apologizing for callin’ out his own dayum show earlier this week. While lots of folks have been wondering if he jumped on that crazy train, it seems Angus put the cup of kool-aid down and realized that $8 milli he’s making a year looks pretty good…even if his show is ‘flith’. According to TMZ , he’s got 99 problems and losin’ his job may be one: “I have been the subject of much discussion, speculation and commentary over the past 24 hours. While I cannot address everything that has been said or right every misstatement or misunderstanding, there is one thing I want to make clear. Without qualification, I am grateful to and have the highest regard and respect for all of the wonderful people on Two and Half Men with whom I have worked and over the past ten years who have become an extension of my family. Chuck Lorre, Peter Roth and many others at Warner Bros. and CBS are responsible for what has been one of the most significant experiences in my life to date. I thank them for the opportunity they have given and continue to give me and the help and guidance I have and expect to continue to receive from them. I also want all of the crew and cast on our show to know how much I personally care for them and appreciate their support, guidance and love over the years. I grew up around them and know that the time they spent with me was in many instances more than with their own families. I learned life lessons from so many of them and will never forget how much positive impact they have had on my life.
