It’s her money riiiiight? $188 Million Lottery Winner Blasted For Posting Fiance’s Bail The 26-year-old mother of four who won $188 million in the lottery and was praised for seemingly planning to use it on her child with cerebral palsy, is now getting blasted. Marie Holmes is currently the subject of criticism for bailing her fiance, an accused drug dealer allegedly caught with 8,000 bags of heroin, out of jail not once—but TWICE. Via WWavy TV 3: The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed WWAY’s earlier FIRST ON 3 report that a man in jail under $6 million bond has been released from the Brunswick County Jail. Lamarr McDow has been in jail since deputies arrested him July 23 for allegedly violating the curfew requirements of his pre-trial release. Deputies arested McDow at the Shallotte home he shares with Marie Holmes. Prosecutors say Holmes, who won a $188 million Powerball jackpot in February, was behind McDow’s release on $3 million bond in March just weeks after she won the jackpot. A Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman says a bondsman posted today’s bond for McDow, who was released with a GPS monitoring device. Bondsmen do not have to reveal who paid them to post bond, but Holmes apparently responded to criticism from readers on our Facebook page. “What Y’all need to be worried about is Y’all money and not how I spend mine this is benefitting Y’all how? And no he’s no drug dealer or user but who are Y’all to judge anybody? I will definitely pray for Y’all because it’s much need…they talked about Jesus so I’m not surprised Y’all are talking about me but be blessed though,” read a comment from Holmes’s Facebook account on a post about McDow’s release. McDow, who goes by the street name “Hot Sauce” was one of three suspects arrested in November 2014 as part of a year-long investigation. He was charged with crimes including trafficking heroin and possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver heroin. The investigation stemmed from an incident in July in the Shallotte area when more than 8,000 bags of heroin was seized. McDow’s criminal history includes convictions for assault on a female, assault and several counts of drug possession dating back to 2000. Holmes, 26, walked away with nearly $88 million after taking the lump sum and paying taxes on her mid-February Powerball win. She and several other people were charged with drug possession after a search of the home after deputies smelled marijuana when they came to get McDow. Investigators also charged him for possession of a firearm by a felon after finding a gun in the house during their search. Not that we’re counting anyone’s coins buuuuuuuuut $9 million on bail seems wasteful. What do YOU think??? Fair or foul???
Man Breaks Into House But Falls Asleep On Couch Welcome to Florida … Via Bradenton : A South Florida family says they came home to chicken bones and empty beer bottles on their kitchen floor and an unknown man sleeping on their couch. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies found 22-year-old Jacob Miller still asleep when they responded to the Lake Worth home Monday. After taking Miller into custody, the deputies reported finding numerous items of jewelry on the man that belonged to the family. The Palm Beach Post ( http://goo.gl/M0vixi ) reports that Miller told deputies he went into the home because he needed a place to stay but refused to answer any other questions. Miller was charged with burglary and theft. Records also showed an open warrant in Texas for burglary. You can’t be serious!!!
Florida Man Arrested For Battery Against Wife Who “Cheated” On Him With Sex Toy Muthafuggin’ Florida …SMH Via Local10 A Florida man was arrested after an argument with his ex-wife about a sex toy escalated, according to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. Triston Horne, 36, was arrested Sunday on domestic battery charges. Deputies said Horne was spending the night with a woman to whom he was once married when the two got into an argument in the bedroom. According to an arrest report, the woman was using the bathroom when Horne barged in, accusing her of cheating on him with a sex toy. Deputies said Horne grabbed the woman’s arm and twisted it before returning to the bedroom, grabbing the sex toy and snapping it in half. The woman and her 16-year-old daughter pushed Horne out of the home, but he later returned and took the woman’s cellphone while they were asleep, the report said. Horne later admitted that he took her phone because she broke his. Kevin Allen Shot Dead By Cops Inside New Jersey Public Library You buyin’ what the cops are selling? Via NJ.com The man shot and killed by police at the township library Friday was armed with a large knife and couldn’t be subdued by non-lethal force, authorities said. Chief of Police James O’Connor said 36-year-old Kevin Allen “menaced” police with the utility knife before they shot him around 1:30 p.m. in the library’s top floor. “He was aggressive towards them….he charged at them with [the knife],” O’Connor said Friday night. Allen was wanted by the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office for failing to appear at a work release program last month and for contempt of court, spokesman Anthony Cureton said late Friday. Earlier, a law enforcement source said local police engaged Allen when he was spotted outside the library because he was wanted. O’Connor said officers first tried to subdue Allen using non-lethal force, including using pepper-spray and a baton on him. Allen continued to charge at the officers with the large utility knife after police tried to stop him. “They exhausted all means, to include pepper spray and their baton,” the chief said in an interview. Considering that the police were not willing to give the full account of what took place inside the library for several hour following Kevin’s death, in addition to their long history of finding any and every way to justify the fatal shooting of a black man, forgive us for being a bit skeptical about this whole story. Aaron Leetch And Torrey Ward Deaths Illinois State University is currently in mourning after two members of their coaching staff’s lives ended in tragedy. After attending Monday’s NCCA Basketball championship game in Indianapolis, Aaron Leetch (L) and Torrey Ward (R) were killed when their small plane crashed. The Chicago Tribune reports: Two members of Illinois State University’s athletic department were among the seven people killed when their small plane crashed near the Bloomington airport while returning from the NCAA basketball championship game in Indianapolis, authorities said. They were identified as Aaron Leetch, deputy director of athletics for external operations, and Torrey Ward, associate head coach of the Redbirds men’s basketball team. “The entire campus (is) in mourning,” ISU President Larry Dietz said in a statement. Two other victims have been identified: Terry Stralow, a partner in a popular bar in Bloomington-Normal, and Scott Bittner, owner of a meat-processing company and owner of the twin-engine Cessna 414 that crashed. No information about the others killed was available, but authorities said everyone on board died in the crash. The plane left the Indianapolis airport about 11 p.m. Monday and hit heavy fog over central Illinois, authorities said. About 12:15 a.m., radar contact with the plane was lost, according to the sheriff’s office. A search was launched, and a Bloomington police officer discovered the wreckage in a field northeast of the airport, the office said. “It was determined that there were no survivors,” the office said. At some point “that radio contact was lost,” he said. Olson did not say if the pilot indicated experiencing any trouble. The pilot did not cancel the flight plan or make any alterations in flight, he said. So sad, condolences to the families of the coaches and the rest of the victims.
