According to News And Tribune: A participant of the Clark County Drug Court Treatment Program sentenced to 48 hours in the Clark County jail was released from the facility Thursday — 154 days after being placed behind bars. Destiny Hoffman, 34, Jeffersonville, was ordered to serve two days in jail on Aug. 22 by Clark County Circuit Court No. 2 Judge Jerry Jacobi. The sentence came after Hoffman provided a diluted drug screen result, a violation of the drug court program, which Jacobi oversees. Jacobi instructed the Clark County Sheriff’s Office through a bond notice to hold Hoffman under no bond and for her “to be held until further order of the court.” But Jacobi never issued that order, and Hoffman remained behind bars for more than five months. Even though Hoffman was released from the jail Thursday, she has said she may seek a civil suit against Clark County, resulting in another black eye for the embattled drug treatment program. According to KSL: A shocking discovery was made late Thursday at a home where police believe a police officer shot and killed his wife, two young children and his mother-in-law, before killing himself. It was the second murder-suicide in Utah involving parents killing their children in just two days. The bodies of Kelly Boren, 32, Joshua “Jaden” Boren, 7, Haley Boren, 5, and Marie King, 55, and officer Joshua Boren, 34, were found Thursday night inside a Spanish Fork house where they all lived. “We’re a small department. Our families are one big family, so we knew his entire family as well. Just a tremendous shock to our entire organization,” said Lindon Police Chief Cody Cullimore. “He was well-liked, had a lot of friends at the sheriff’s office,” said Utah County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Cannon. “He was a big guy, just solid as a rock muscle guy. But just a teddy bear is how I would have described him. Just a mild-mannered personality.” Did he have to shoot the babies too? A few hours later – incredibly, hilariously, confoundingly – the rapper got arrested for a second time… WHILE IN JAIL. He was therefore booked – AGAIN – on a charge of vandalism and, depending on the value of the phone, could face yet another felony charge. In a literal sense, of course, this has nothing to do with Justin Bieber . But on a grander scale? When you think of all that singer has done over the past year – from driving recklessly, to throwing loud parties, to peeing in mop buckets, to allegedly throwing eggs at his neighbor’s home – it’s not hard to think of the company he’s been keeping as a major influence. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, meanwhile, have finished their raid of Bieber’s home. It’s unclear what evidence, if any, they found inside his mansion that could prove his caused over $20,000 worth of damage to his neighbor’s home via an egg attack last Thursday. For now, authorities say Bieber has neither been exonerated nor arrested.
Poor baby. Man Abandons Baby At Gas Station He wrapped the innocent baby up in newspaper and threw her away like garbage. How cruel. According to My Fox Orlando: The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an incident in which a newborn was found abandoned at a DeBary, Fla., gas station. The baby girl was discovered unclothed and wrapped in newspaper at the front door of the DeBary Food Mart on South Charles R. Beall Blvd. A man who was in the area said he heard the baby’s cries, then picked her up and found a towel to wrap her in before flagging down a newspaper deliveryman who called 911 around 2:22 a.m. The man who first found the baby has now been identified as Ralph Garlick, Jr. and has been arrested on charges of knowingly giving false information to law enforcement during an investigation. Police say that although Garlick is not the father, the baby belongs to his girlfriend. She gave birth to the baby early Monday morning at an apartment complex in Orange City. Garlick said that he was trying to bring the baby to a safe location because his girlfriend didn’t want to keep it. The mother has been located and is currently at a hospital being examined. Charges may be filed against her as well. When deputies arrived at the scene this morning the newborn had the umbilical cord still attached. The cord appeared to have been tied off with a shoe string. Garlick initially identified himself to deputies as Charles Garlick, using the name of his dead brother. After questioning by Sheriff’s investigators, Garlick admitted lying to deputies about his name and the circumstances of Monday morning’s incident. The baby was taken to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando and doctors say the baby appears to be in good condition. Thank God the baby survived. Volusia County Sheriff’s Office
At least two people were injured when a gunman opened fire at a high school in suburban Denver, Colo., Friday, before killing himself, reports indicate. Information is still coming in, but authorities say that the suspect was a male student at the school, Arapahoe High School, which is located in Centennial. He had reportedly sought to confront a teacher, officials believe. Colorado School Shooting The Arapahoe County Sheriff addressed the case moments ago. One of the victims, who is believed to be a student at the school, remains in critical condition, according to reports from Colorado emergency officials. Hospital officials said the injured student was in critical condition. Another student suffered a minor wound, said Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson, adding authorities were not sure it was a gunshot wound. Police did not release the name of the deceased, alleged shooter. Robinson said, “At 12:33 this afternoon, an individual came to the Arapahoe High School on the West Side, entered the school armed with a shotgun.” “Was looking for an individual teacher that he identified by name. The teacher began to understand that he was being looked at, exited the school. “One student confronted the armed student, and was shot.” “We located what we believed to be the suspect and the active shooter. That individual is currently deceased and he apparently killed himself.” Video showed students leaving the building in orderly fashion, with their hands raised. They were then frisked by security officers before moving on. The school is eight miles from Columbine H.S. in Littleton, where two teenagers infamously killed 12 classmates, a teacher and themselves in 1999. The Colorado school shooting comes almost one year since the tragedy in Newtown, Conn., where 20 first-graders and six educators were killed. The Connecticut shooting took place December 14 of last year.
Sharkeisha victim Sharmichael Manuel, the unsuspecting girl on the receiving end of the sucker punch heard ’round the Internet, is breaking her silence. Manuel, 17, told KHOU-TV in Houston that she was set up to receive the savage beating on video, and was astounded when her former friend struck. The video of Sharmichael getting laid out by Sharkeisha last month went viral on Instagram on Twitter, where it was removed for terms of use violations. Sharkeisha Victim Speaks Out! It remains online elsewhere, however, and the Cypress Creek High School (Tex.) senior is far from pleased about it, saying the notoreity adds insult to injury. She says she was ambushed November 19 after being led to an apartment complex under false pretenses, believing she was picking up some belongings. Instead she was straight up pummeled by Sharkeisha (below). The video, recorded with a phone, shows 16-year-old Sharkeisha talking to Manuel, then out of nowhere, blindsiding her with a sucker punch to the face. The victim crumpled to the ground, while Sharkeisha kept wailing on Manuel with uppercuts and even a brutal kick to the face before bystanders intervene. “I was just in shock. I was like oh my God. Did she really do this? You’re supposed to be my close friend,” Manuel said. “We were talking in school earlier that day.” “She made it seem like there was nothing wrong.” Sharkeisha Video The fight broke out over a boy, Manuel told the news site , and after Sharkeisha finished the assault, a neighbor drove the battered teenager home. Manuel was left dazed, with a black eye and a busted lip. She hasn’t returned to school since the attack and now has trouble seeing out of her eye. “It is hurting and crushing to me,” Manuel said in her interview. “I felt humiliated, embarrassed and hurt at the same time.” The physical pain was just the beginning for her, too. Sharkeisha has become a viral star, with many praising her attack (or at least enjoying the act of watching it), and for the victim, that’s the real tragedy. Manuel’s mother, Olevia Henderson, told KHOU: “The video just keeps going and going. They’re making jokes, and they’re taunting. They’re glorifying Sharkeisha, but they’re taunting my daughter.” “I was in the grocery store … the baggers were just laughing and talking about it. I said, ‘That’s my daughter in that video,’ and their whole expression changed.” As the video gained traction on social media, users made “Sharkeisha” a national trending topic and memes of the assault were shared incessantly. Rumors even began to circulate early on that beating victim Manuel, who wasn’t yet identified at that point, had committed suicide. Not the case. Sharkeisha: Fight Video Heard ‘Round the World Henderson informed their school’s assistant principal, but was told there was nothing that could be done since it didn’t take place on school grounds. Zimmerman’s new girlfriend lives in that part of the county. TMZ says he has been booked for a domestic incident – a “situation involving his girlfriend,” who is reportedly pregnant – but few other details are available. The former Neighborhood Watch volunteer, 30, was acquitted in July on the charge of murdering Trayvon Martin , an unarmed black teenager, last year. Since his acquittal, Zimmerman also been stopped for speeding twice. In one of those cases, he was carrying a (legally permitted) concealed weapon. In September, George was handcuffed by police but released after his estranged wife, Shellie, and her father accused him of threatening them with a gun. Zimmerman had arrived at that scene with a woman, Samantha Scheibe, who was described as his girlfriend by estranged wife Shellie Zimmerman ‘s attorney. She is presumably the woman at the center of today’s altercation as well. The dispute arose over the belongings of the couple, who are divorcing. What a messed up way to die. Man Dies After Jumping From Rocks Into Pool The kid had his whole life ahead of him. Sad. According to KTLA: A Cal State Fullerton student who was hiking with a group of friends in the Angeles National Forest died after jumping from some rocks into a pool of water, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department stated in a news release Tuesday. The group of 13 college students were hiking in the Hermit Falls area Monday when several of them decided to jump into the water from the adjacent rocks. Friends tell KTLA that 19-year-old Kevin La landed in the water, but when he surfaced he appeared to be unconscious. Some members of the group attempted to use their cellphones to call for help while others performed CPR on La. He was airlifted to Huntington Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Hermit Falls is a well known spot where hikers often participate in cliff jumping. Friends have created a Facebook in La’s memory. “I’m going to miss his smile,” friend Jean To said. “That smile brought joy to a lot of people’s faces. According to News Sentinel: A Columbus woman who police said had sex on several occasions with a 15-year-old Brown County boy has been arrested by Indiana State Police and turned over to law enforcement authorities in Brown County. Amber Renea Williamson, 32, faces two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, both Class B felonies, and one Class A misdemeanor count of invasion of privacy. State Police spokesman Sgt. Curt Durnil said a state trooper arrested Williamson near her Columbus home, based on a warrant from Brown County. The arrest culminated a six-week investigation that showed Williamson kept in touch with the teen via Facebook even after a court order was issued to prevent her from contacting the boy, the Brown County Sheriff’s Department said. Williamson was booked into the Brown County Jail at 1:31 p.m. Tuesday and later was released on a $10,000 surety bond, according to jail officials. The Brown County Sheriff’s Department alleges that Williamson had sex with the 15-year-old at her apartment and in a garage at the boy’s home. An investigation into the woman’s relationship with the teen started in mid-September. Sheriff’s officials said the teen’s cellphone contained text messages to Williamson, and she sent a love letter to the boy saying, “I want you and only you in my life and heart.” The boy told sheriff’s deputies that he and the woman had had sexual relations several times since July, an affidavit from sheriff’s investigator Sgt. Mike Moore says. In one instance, the boyfriend of the teen’s mother peered through a garage window and saw the youngster in bed with Williamson, the affidavit said. SMH.
