Chicago Teen Murdered After Facebook Argument With Another Girl Over Boyfriend Via ChicagoTribune A 14-year-old girl shot and killed another 14-year-old girl because of an argument over a boy, Chicago Police Supt. Garry McCarthy said today as murder charges were filed. The gun used to kill Endia Martin had been stolen from a car on April 13, McCarthy said, adding that two other people, including a 24-year-old uncle of the suspect, face charges as police investigate how the girl got the gun. “What would have been, under any other circumstance, probably a fistfight between 14-year-old girls, because they were fighting over a boy, turned into a murder,” McCarthy told reporters. “You introduce a firearm and you have a murder.” In addition to Endia, those responsible for that firearm being on the premises are being held responsible as well. He said that one of the suspects facing charges may have brought the gun to the scene “because there was going to be a fight,” and the other suspect then may have tried to get rid of it. The 14-year-old girl who is charged in the case was arrested about 4:50 p.m. Monday, about 20 minutes after the shooting, police said in a news release Monday. She pulled the gun from her waistband and fled the scene before the arrest. Endia’s stepfather, Kent Kennedy, said Endia and the suspect had been feuding on Facebook. “They had words and she gunned our daughter down. For what? What reason would another girl gun down another child? “It’s senseless,” he added. “Kids are dying so young nowadays. It’s senseless. Parents shouldn’t have to bury no child.” Kennedy said the family recently moved Endia from one school to another closer to home to keep her safe. Endia was killed about half a mile from her South Side home. “No place in Chicago is safe for teenagers nowadays,” he said. “No place is safe.” Thoughts and prayers go out to both families. Charges Dropped Against White Police Officer Who Killed Unarmed Black Teen The charges against a former Arkansas police officer who gunned down a 15-year-old boy in August of 2012 using the defense that he thought the teen was attempting to run into him with his vehicle have now been dropped and the family of the young man who lost his life is now left still searching for justice. via Arkansas Online A judge has dropped charges against a former Little Rock police officer whose manslaughter trial in the fatal shooting of a teenager while on duty in 2012 twice resulted in deadlocked juries. Josh Hastings returned to court Monday morning for a hearing before a third trial that had been scheduled to begin next month. But at the proceeding before Pulaski County Circuit Judge Wendell Griffen, prosecutors requested dropping the charges instead of going to trial. Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney John Johnson noted the facts were largely undisputed but that the two mistrials brought to light that “this is a unique case where there can be no unanimity of the jury.” “We believe that he should have been found guilty,” Johnson said while acknowledging he now believes getting that verdict would be impossible. “Not just difficult. We have no good-faith basis we would ever get a jury to unanimously convict.” The dismissal does allow the charges to be refiled, though Hastings’ defense attorney said afterward that it’s hard to imagine that would occur. Johnson noted the family of 15-year-old Bobby Moore, whom Hastings fatally shot, objected to the decision to dismiss charges. Deazzaray Perkins, Moore’s older sister, blasted prosecutors for dropping the charges “when they know this man was in the wrong.” “He killed a 15-year-old child,” she said in an impassioned statement to reporters by the front steps of the courthouse. “They think we’re supposed to be OK with it? I’m not … That was my baby brother. It’s been three years. Hastings on Aug. 12, 2012, shot Moore while investigating a report of vehicle break-ins at the Shadow Lake apartment complex in Little Rock. Hastings says he opened fire while Moore drove a vehicle toward him, but prosecutors in the first two trials contended that the vehicle was not moving toward Hastings and that he acted recklessly in opening fire. Hastings was fired from the force after police investigated the shooting. His attorney, Bill James, said Hastings will seek to get his job back. This shooting took place only 6 months after acquitted child-murderer George Zimmerman gunned down unarmed teen Trayvon Martin and sadly, both cases have seen the same outcome. What will it take for these men and other like them to be held accountable for their reckless actions???
Damn… Killed in front of his own mother. KUTV : A defendant is dead after being shot inside the new federal courthouse in downtown Salt Lake City Monday morning. Officials say the shooting occurred during a trial involving Siale Angilau, 25, a member of the Tongan Crip Gang (TCG). Angilau was the finale defendant in a series of cases being prosecuted by the U.S. Government in federal court against members and associates of TCG. Officials believe Angilau attempted to attack a witness with a pen and was fired at by a U.S. Marshall. Officials at a press conference Monday said the U.S. Marshal shot the defendant multiple times in the chest area. After the shooting, a group of marshals continued to hold Angilau at gunpoint near the jury box while the jury was still present in the courtroom. KUTV

Brandon Spencer, 21, could be seen banging his head on a table and crying loudly as the judge sentenced him to 40 years to life in prison.
