His car got rolled up on and his driver didn’t survive the hit. According to TMZ : Hector “Macho” Camacho is in critical condition after being SHOT multiple times in Puerto Rico tonight … this according to multiple reports. The former boxing champ was reportedly in the passenger seat of a car around 7 PM local time … when another vehicle rolled up and someone opened fire … striking Camacho several times in the neck and face. The driver of Camacho’s car was reportedly killed in the attack. According to reports, Camacho was taken to a hospital and is currently listed in critical condition. Two Miami residents are encouraging people to wear hooded sweatshirts in their “Halloween Hoodie Campaign” to protest stereotyping after the controversial shooting death of fellow Floridian, Ttayvon Martin earlier this year. The 17-year-old was wearing a hoodie when he was shot and killed by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watchman who confronted Martin as he walked home from a 7-Eleven in the Orlando suburb of Sanford. After the death of Trayvon Martin, many supporters of the Martin family wore hoodies and posted photos to show their support, including the entire Miami Heat team. Families Of Batman Theater Shooting Victims’ Will Split $5 Million According to TMZ reports : The families of the 12 people killed in the Aurora shooting massacre — along with several people who suffered permanent injuries in the attack — will split the majority of the $5 million in donations raised to assist the victims of the attack. A mediator tasked with dividing the funds has announced the above-mentioned people will split 70% of the funds — roughly $200k each. The mediator says the rest of the cash will go to people who suffered physical injuries — the more severe the injury, the more money they will receive. Aside from the 12 people killed, 58 people were wounded in the July 20 shooting in Aurora, CO. The mediator says … due to limited funds, none of the money will go toward people who did not require overnight hospitalization … and the cash will NOT be used to aid theater-goers who were physically unharmed, but claim they suffer from mental trauma. As for the shooter James Holmes, he’s still in custody facing murder charges. This money will certainly not make up for lost family members and friends, but at least it will help the folks that need it to help pay hospital bills and costs associated with the tragedy.
Special Needs Man Murdered In Broad Daylight By Gang Members In L.A. A sad story out of Los Angeles. A special needs man was the victim of a fatal shooting while sitting on the bench of the park that he often volunteered at. via The Grio A 19-year-old man was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon while sitting on a park bench in Los Angeles, according to LAPD. The shooting, which detectives say appears to be gang related, went down around 3:15 p.m. at 1535 W. 62nd Street, near Jackie Tatum Harvard Recreation Center (map). The victim was identified as Patrick Caruthers, according to LAPD. Friends say Caruthers was developmentally disabled, but often volunteered at the park. “He was articulate. He didn’t bother nobody. He went to school, he played piano and the drums for the church every Sunday. He didn’t bother a soul,” said Larry Gibson, friend. Kelsey Grammer took a new tact in his never-ending feud with Camille Grammer yesterday. Instead of slamming his ex-wife in public – did you know they stopped having sex during their marriage?!? – Kelsey simply bailed on an interview with Piers Morgan because producers showed a photo of Camille at the outset of the Morgan’s CNN talk show last night. The host simply couldn’t believe the reaction. “Kelsey Grammer was supposed to be on my show now but ran out of the building. Strange,” Morgan Tweeted, adding: “Kelsey Grammer saw a photo of his ex wife Camille in the open to our show and legged it. Extraordinary. Never had this happen before… I had a very friendly chat with Kelsey backstage. He said he was really looking forward to the interview… this was a shockingly unprofessional thing to do. I wasn’t even going to mention his ex-wife!” In response to the incident, a rep for the actor responded via statement: “Piers needs to take responsibility for what he did to Kelsey. It’s called accountability. Speaking of which: Pssst, Kelsey. Perhaps these sorts of situations are why you were supposedly snubbed for an Emmy .

Whether Tom Cruise has prioritized his movie career over his home life to the point where it’s hurt his three marriages is an open question, but “abandoned” is a strong word, given how he provides for Suri. Bit of a stretch though, no? It’s true that Tom hasn’t been publicly seen with Suri Cruise in more than 48 days, since their vacation to Disney World on August 2, and yes, of course that’s sad. At the same time, many kids don’t have two parents at all, and Tom and Katie Holmes, who has primary custody of Suri, have always tried to put their girl first. By all accounts the Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes divorce was settled quickly, amicably and fairly for her benefit and each will continue to be involved in Suri’s life. Katie will be more so, but she has primary custody. This is just how some divorces work out; it’s hard to call Tom an absentee father under the circumstances.
George Zimmerman’s DNA and his alone was found on the gun that killed Trayvon Martin in February, according to DNA test results released by officials Wednesday. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement found Zimmerman’s DNA was on the gun but not Martin’s; it is undetermined whether Martin’s DNA was on the holster. George Zimmerman has acknowledged shooting Trayvon Martin, but has maintained that he acted in self-defense in the wake of a confrontation that left him injured. The DNA tests could play a role in the trial, allowing the prosecution to argue against self-defense since it now seems that Martin never even touched the weapon. The defense could argue that Zimmerman shot before Martin could grab the gun. The test results were the latest discovery material released by officials in the murder case, which has become a national flashpoint in race relations and gun laws. Zimmerman, 28, is free on bail awaiting trial on charges of second-degree murder in the killing of Martin, an unarmed African American teenager, in Sanford, Fla. Zimmerman was not arrested the night of the shooting in the gated community. After weeks of protests about that fact, a special prosecutor charged Zimmerman. Officials cited missed opportunities by the defendant to diffuse the situation with Martin in charging him with murder; he has apologized to Martin’s family twice.

This stabbing all started with a conversation on an Xbox Live headset that allegedly set a 17-year-old off, not with a joystick, but with a real knife and gun. Kevin Kemp, 20, didn’t mind showing the scars from his battle Monday. There are 22 stab wounds now stitched back up. That was the end result of what started as an exchange with a family friend online. “We were just talking over headsets,” Kemp said. But this was no virtual violence. Their Xbox banter turned bitter. Kemp says the anger had nothing to do with a game. It was a continued feud with his friend that inflamed. “I’m like, ‘Bro, if want to do this, come over to my house and we’ll do this right now,’” Kemp said. That friend left the headset behind, then suddenly entered Kemp’s front door. He reportedly pushed his way past Kemp’s mom, knife and gun in hand. “Walks up to my room and he points the gun right at me and takes out the clip and shows his bullet, puts it back in the gun, tries to shoot me and he shot it and it went right past my head,” Kemp said. “Almost hit me.” After the gunshot, the knife attack. Then came the paramedics. “We were standing out here when they carried him out,” neighbor Dylan Fulkerson said. “He was covered in blood, he was on the stretcher and what not.” Kemp will be OK, but his friendship is likely finished. Police are calling it a first. “It’s kind of unusual in that regard,” said Jimmy Lee of the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Department. “Haven’t heard of something happening online, whether it was playing games or chatting, that led to an attack like this. An escalating Xbox exchange with no reset button for this real-life run-in. Now it could be game over for the teen who went on the attack. He’s facing one charge of burglary and two counts of attempted murder and the DA’s office said he will be charged as an adult.
