Five Suspects Popped For Trying To Shoot Up Waka Flocka’s Tour Bus In North Carolina

Update on the Waka Flocka shooting situation : At least five people have been arrested in connection with the shooting involving breakout rap star Waka Flocka, RadarOnline.com has learned. WCNC in Charolette, NC. reports that police have apprehended five suspects who may have been involved in the shooting that targeted the Atlanta rapper. As RadarOnline.com previously reported, at least seven shots were fired in a gun battle involving Waka Flocka and his entourage in East Charlotte, NC. The rapper’s tour bus was surrounded by crime tape Wednesday evening outside Car Stereo Warehouse on Independence Boulevard near Bojangles Coliseum, where police said the rapper — real name Juaquin Malphurs — was at the store to have a stereo system installed in the bus. The next night, WCNC reported police spotted a white Dodge Charger that they thought was one of the vehicles involved in the shooting. The driver of that car then took off and led police on a chase where two people jumped out of the car and ran. “There’s a lot of things being said right now [but] we’re all good, we’re all straight. Nothing happen to nobody, nobody else did nothing,” Waka’s brother told RadarOnline.com Thursday in an exclusive interview. Glad they’re alright, but SMH at Waka’s brother and all those damn double negatives. Via Radaronline

Stop The Violence: Four Teens Killed At Sweet Sixteen Party

Dayuuuuum! Is anything safe for teens these days?? Gwinnett County Police continue to investigate a late Saturday night shooting at a Sweet 16 birthday party at which four teens were shot and one was grazed by shrapnel. The shooting happened at about 11 p.m. at a home on Lock Ness Lane in unincorporated Gwinnett near Snellville. Police said an individual began to shoot “randomly” into the house where the party was being held and about 50 people were in attendance. The youths, only one of whom was injured seriously, according to police, were taken to Gwinnett Medical Center, treated and released. The teens, ages 15 to 17, were shot in the leg, foot, arm and buttocks. Investigators said they have not identified the shooter and hope that the victims can give them more information. There may be a connection to gang activity and drug activity, but no solid connections can yet be made, police said. Descriptions of the suspect were so varied that investigators have not been able to focus on one suspect, police said. No one at the crime scene was able to provide names of possible suspects or describe a vehicle that might have been involved, they added. SMH. Sidenote: we’re really gonna need Gwinnett County, GA to get it together.

Jesus Take The Wheel: Ohio Boy Dies After Being Shot In The Head By His Older Brother

It’s always sad to see any young person lose his or her life, but to be murdered by your own brother? SMH… COLUMBUS, Ohio — A 15-year-old boy who was shot in the head following a dispute inside an Apple store has died, and a new charge is possible for an older brother accused in the shooting, a prosecutor said Thursday. Andrake Kelley died Wednesday, police homicide detectives said in a news release. He sustained a single gunshot wound to the head in the shooting that rattled shoppers Saturday night at Easton Town Center, a shopping center with upscale stores about 8 miles northeast of downtown Columbus, police said. The boy’s brother, Andrew Kelley, 16, was charged Monday with a delinquency count of felonious assault in the shooting. Franklin County Assistant Prosecutor Dennis Hogan said he planned to meet soon with detectives about possibly amending the charge in light of Andrake Kelley’s death. Hogan declined to say what new charge could be filed. The shooting in an outdoor area of the mall followed an altercation inside the Apple store, police have said. Detective Steve Glasure told The Columbus Dispatch words were exchanged between two groups of youths and that Andrew Kelley fired shots into the air. Police would not say if they believed he intended to shoot his brother, the newspaper reported. Glasure did not immediately return a phone message on Thursday. Ryan Landin, a firefighter from Mansfield in north central Ohio, said he was inside a store at Easton when several teens came running in saying there had been a shooting. Landin and his girlfriend, an EMT, went out to attend to the wounded teen. “There wasn’t anybody around. I didn’t see any crowds. All the teens I guess that were involved in the situation must have fled,” Landin told The Associated Press on Thursday. Andrew Kelley was held in juvenile detention Thursday awaiting a March 4 court appearance. A message was left for his attorney. Hogan said he filed a motion seeking to have the teen tried as an adult. R.I.P. to Andrake Kelley, and condolences to the family. Sad as it is, we hope they try the older brother as an adult, he deserves to sit down for at LEAST 30 years, if not life. Source

Pure Comedy Or Irony?: Bank Robber Takes Hostage, Slips And Falls On Ice, Then Is Shot & Killed By Cops [Video]

Police shot and killed a suspected bank robber trying to escape with a female hostage Friday after he stumbled in a pile of snow from this week’s storm and the woman slipped away. When the man walked out of the Capital One bank branch in a Washington suburb, he was holding a gun to the bank teller’s head and was using her as a shield. The suspect also had a fake bomb taped to his body, police said. Officers were already outside the bank as the suspect walked out, and the confrontation unfolded on television with a helicopter camera hovering overhead. Video shows him backing away from police with the woman when the suspect tripped over a pile of snow from Wednesday’s storm. The woman ran away from the suspect toward police and held her hands up to cover her ears. Gunfire erupted shortly afterward. Takoma Park Police Chief Ronald Ricucci said the suspect was killed. “From our point of view, it looks like it was a successful resolution,” said Prince George’s County police Maj. Andy Ellis, adding that three of his officers fired at the suspect. “Things were changing very quickly, and the officers had to make split-second decisions.” Montgomery County Police Chief Thomas Manger said the robbery was unusual because the suspect appeared to have a bomb, as well as a hostage, and because officers reached the scene so quickly that the situation was still unfolding. Police from at least three jurisdictions responded to the scene because Takoma Park is near the border of Montgomery and Prince George’s counties. The city also has its own police force. Besides the device that looked like a bomb strapped to the suspect, a suspicious device also was reported inside the bank. Both ended up being plastic foam when checked by a bomb squad, police said. But the potential for an explosion affected the response by police officers, Ellis said. At least three people were treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. A police officer was grazed in the leg by a bullet. One person was pistol-whipped — the woman whom the suspect later used as a shield — and another person was treated for shock, police said. Bill Benjamin, who witnessed the incident from a nearby store, told FOX 5 that he had walked outside to take out the trash. He said he heard three quick shots fired and saw police chase down the suspect. Herschel Ivy, who saw the incident from across the street, told FOX 5 that he saw the suspect’s hands go up when shots were fired. Ivy said he heard seven or eight gunshots fired as the hostage ran toward police. “She ran directly through the cordon of police officers,” Ivy said. “You couldn’t tell if they were firing from the left or from the right.”

F*ck A Thug: Brother Attacks Sister’s Accused Killer In Court And Explains Self! [Video]

This story pisses us off! We commend the brother and keep him him our prayers. The October 2009 shooting death of Jilani Platt had been “eating” at her brother for more than a year. Tuesday morning, when 30-year-old Jeryl Carter saw the man accused of killing his sister — her husband 33-year-old Zyderrious Platt — enter a Muscogee County Superior Court, those feelings boiled over. Carter leaped over the railing in Judge Bobby Peters’ courtroom and rushed Platt, who quickly stood and backed away as deputies moved in. “For the last year, it’s been on my mind,” Carter said after returning to his Columbus home late Tuesday afternoon. “It’s been eating at me. To see him come out and see him sit in the courtroom like he was going to watch his favorite TV show … he didn’t give a damn what he did. It kind of irked me. It kind of got to me.” Platt reacted by grabbing a wooden chair in what appeared to be an attempt to fend off Carter, who grabbed the chair and threw it at Platt. The chair fell to the floor. No one was injured in the incident, and Peters decided that Carter will not be charged, Muscogee County Sheriff’s Maj. Randy Robertson said. “I’ll kill him; I’ll kill him,” Carter yelled as he was being subdued by deputies. “My sister didn’t deserve that s—. … I am going to kill him. Please let me kill him.” Carter focused on the smirk he said Platt had on his face. “A lot of rage and anger came out of me,” Carter said. “I can’t get it out of my mind. I can’t get over it.” Platt was accused of killing his 10-week pregnant wife, Jilani Platt, 26, in October 2009. He faces charges of murder, feticide, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. The trial started after an hour delay and will continue today. Carter said he held no ill will toward the deputies who tackled him to the floor and handcuffed him. “It would make me feel a lot better if he wasn’t alive,” Carter said. “If I could have just gotten my hands on him. I’m tired. I’m exhausted. I’m not no evil person to wake up that mad every day. It’s not normal. It’s not natural.” Deputy reacts to incident Deputy Charles Nathan, a 23½-year veteran of the sheriff’s office, had just left the jury room and was walking toward Platt when the disturbance began. “I heard a noise and I turned and I saw one of the family members coming over the rail,” Nathan said. “I’m trying to figure out what was going on. When he went over the rail, I knew what was going to happen.” Nathan said he deflected the chair to the floor when Carter threw it at Platt. Other deputies rushed Carter, and Nathan lost his footing for a second before he righted himself and grabbed Carter’s legs. Another deputy had Carter by the torso and both deputies took him to the floor. Nathan helped hold Carter to the floor until he was handcuffed and taken from the courtroom. “When I heard him say, ‘My sister,’ I understood what he was doing,” Nathan said. “He’s got his own ideas, and we’re there to prevent him from doing what he was doing.” Robertson said Carter was held in a room in the Government Center most of the day. A deputy drove Carter home just before 5 p.m. Carter was not handcuffed in the room and no one was there with him, though he was being monitored, Robertson said. Peters was on the bench at the time of the attack. The judge left the courtroom and then returned, walking to the railing to pick up a shoe and umbrella near where the attack started. When Carter was taken home, he only wore one shoe. The jury was not seated and court officials were waiting for the jurors at the time of the attack. The start of the trial was delayed, though the attorneys gave their opening statements and witnesses began testifying before lunch. Family history Carter’s sister was three years his junior. They grew up together with their brother, Phillip. “She was good at school and stuff like that,” Carter said. “She used to love to help other little girls. She was thinking about going to science school, but she stopped it and decided to have a family.” Carter’s sister and Zyderrious Platt had known each other for about five months before they eloped. They lived with her mother for a while before moving to their Crystal Drive home. They were married about 18 months, Carter said. One day, Carter said, he saw what he called a “scar” on his sister’s face. He asked where she got it, and she told him she and her husband had been fighting. Carter went to Zyderrious Platt’s home and waited for him to arrive. Carter said nothing to him when he did. “The moment I seen him, I dove in his ass,” Carter said. “I beat him until he gave up. There was no need to talk to him. Talking to him wouldn’t have did no good.” Jilani Platt was scheduled to pick up her nephew for a youth football game on the day she went missing. Carter said his family knew something was wrong when she failed to show up. “He said some mess like she just walked out the door,” Carter added. “She started to realize that he wasn’t the man you could build a family with. I think she realized there was no saving the relationship and she was ready to end it.” Opening statements The trial resumed after an hour delay. Assistant District Attorney Michael Craig began his opening statement by telling jurors about Jilani Platt, whose maiden name was King. Once a student of Shaw High School, she cared for hospice patients and taught biology. She was preparing to take a test to become a pharmacist. “She was going places,” Craig said. “She had big dreams, big plans. On Oct. 3, 2009, her dreams, her hopes, her life came to a grinding halt.” Craig said that Jilani Platt met with a friend around 10 p.m. Oct. 2. They dropped off Jilani Platt’s nephew at his house, and she told him she’d pick him up the next day for a youth football game. R.I.P. Source

Joan Rivers Labels "Stupid" Sarah Palin a "Threat"

In President Obama’s Tucson speech last week, he said the shooting of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords should not be blamed on rhetoric by any person or group, while at the same time calling for a more civil, positive national discourse. Amen. Joan Rivers apparently missed this memo. Asked about Palin at the Critic’s Choice Awards party in Hollywood, Rivers said people blaming Palin for the Tucson tragedy are right, adding that “this woman is just stupid and a threat.” To what? The English language maybe. Beyond that? Listen to Rivers’ absurd comments below: Joan Rivers Calls Out Sarah Palin We’re with Palin on this one. The mindless finger pointing has to stop. Taking her to task for her actual actions is one thing. Baseless nonsense like this quite another.
