Source: Christopher Polk/AMA2016 / Getty Via | HipHopDX When Drake dropped his latest album Scorpion on June 29, the project came with a confession. On the tracks “March 14” and “Emotionless,” the 6 God admits to fathering a child with Sophie Brussaux, something Pusha T accused him of on “The Story Of Adidon” diss track. But according to Rolling Stone, “March 14” wasn’t a response to Pusha’s accusations like many assumed. A source reportedly close to Drake confirmed the track was recorded “way, way before” “The Story of Adidon.” T-Minus, who co-produced “March 14,” also backed up that narrative. “I’m assuming [Drake] called the record ‘March 14′ ’cause that’s when he did the record,” T-Minus said. “I never even heard the content of the song until the album dropped. It was something private; it was supposed to be kept secure. The information got out and I’m assuming that’s how Push knew [about the child].” READ MORE
Source: FOX / Getty Months after the #WhoBitBeyonce scandal hit the Internet, it looks like Sanaa Lathan is still trying to clear her name. Earlier this week the “Shots Fired” actress opened up with the co-hosts of “The Talk” about her reactions to first hearing the rumor that she was the one who bit Beyonce at a party in Los Angeles. She said, “Me and my friends, we laughed our a**es off. We thought it was funny. I mean, it was so absurd.” “We thought it was funny. I mean, it was so absurd. The hashtag #WhoBitBeyoncé, it was just this big whodunit. You know, I’ve had lots of rumors over the years and after so many of them, you get a thick skin,” she added. We’re pretty sure Tiffany Haddish hasn’t helped the rumor mill, telling “The Hollywood Reporter” last month that Sanaa indeed did nibble on the Queen. “I’m super good friends with her stepmom and her dad (producer-director Stan Lathan), and they were mad at me,” Haddish said. “They were like, ‘Why would you do this to the family? You know, black actresses, you guys have to stick together, it’s so hard for you guys to get work as it is, why would you try to ruin her career?’ “ Haddish said that was never her intention. “I didn’t try to ruin her career,” Haddish explained. “I never said her name! I was just trying to say how Beyoncé kept me from goin’ to jail that night. I coulda just shut my whole career down.” As we previously reported , the drama all started when Haddish shared this infamous story to GQ back in March. “(Beyoncé) was like, ‘Tiffany, no. Don’t do that,’ ” she recalled. ” ‘That (woman) is on drugs. She not even drunk. She not like that all the time. Just chill.’ ” Soon after Twitter started accusing Sanaa of being the one, she was quick to deny it. Y’all are funny. Under no circumstances did I bite Beyonce and if I did it would’ve been a love bite — Sanaa Lathan (@justsanaa) March 26, 2018 Either way, we hope this story has finally been put to bed. Rumor control… Mack Wilds Responds To “Shots Fired” Cancelation Rumors After last night’s finale of FOX’s “Shots Fired” a number of people worried about the show’s future. Luckily for them, one of the show’s biggest stars decided to answer a few questions about its status. According to Tristan “Mack” Wilds , who played an embattled officer indicted for shooting a white teen, while several folks (including us) thought it was canceled, “Shots Fired” was never supposed to be more than a 10-episode program. So no, FOX didn’t pull the plug, because there was never even a plan for season two. When a fan asked Mack if the show was canceled because it’s “too woke”… @MACKWILDS Be honest, man. Did it get cancelled because it's on Fox(a known white station) & the viewers aren't ready for a whole woke series… Or? — cynical optimist (@fonzwolf) May 25, 2017 a candid Mack responded; “We only came on board initially to do one season, one “10 hour movie”, give everybody some dopeness, and get out,” said Mack. @fonzwolf naa. no lie, i was surprised they took us on in the first place. so that's a big shoutout to them. — Mack™ (@MACKWILDS) May 25, 2017 @fonzwolf but we only came on board initially to do one season, one “10 hour movie”, give everybody some dopeness, and get out. — Mack™ (@MACKWILDS) May 25, 2017 He also added that there’s a chance they’ll get a sequel. @fonzwolf we might still get another show, or a “sequel” if u will, but only time will tell. — Mack™ (@MACKWILDS) May 25, 2017 Let’s pray that happens. People have been raving over Reggie Rock Bythewood and Gina Prince-Bythewood’s show, it would be nice to see it come back—maybe with Ash (Sanaa Lathan) and Preston (Stephan James) in a new city. Did YOU watch “Shots Fired”???

So here we are, folks. It’s time to talk about the midseason finale (that’s right, the season didn’t come to a complete end this time around). Still, as with all finales, things have to reach a climax, and they certainly do — as does Mary Jane with Justin’s help (literally). Check out all the tea from the Being Mary Jane midseason finale and tune back in to the second half of the series when it returns July 18. You know things are about to go left when someone is sitting with their man but thinking about another man. That’s exactly what is going on when the mid-season finale starts. While brainstorming plans for Mary Jane’s 40th birthday with Kara, Lee makes a poor cake recommendation and remarks that “I’m obviously out of my league” with such a suggestion (it was chocolate cake with white icing by the way). At that very moment, Justin walks into the room via a daydream and says to MJ, “He said it, not me.” She freezes for a moment before remembering where she’s at, and who she’s with. [ madamenoire ] Adrienne Talks About Moment She Knew Her Relationship With Lenny Wasn’t Right The women of “The Real” are living up to the name of their show with this week’s topics of discussion. Earlier this week, Loni opened up about her miscarriage and now, Adrienne is speaking about the reason she called off her engagement to Lenny Santiago. Tamera: “When did you know, because I think a woman always knows this, when did you know that it wasn’t right? But then you kept on in the relationship?” Adrienne: “I think I knew when I moved across the country and we didn’t need each other in that way. And I think at some point it almost… can become almost a saving grace, like ‘Let’s try… Maybe if we do this…’ Does that make sense?” If I’m being honest, it’s a little unclear. But if you watch the video, you can tell that Adrienne was doing her best to be as tactful and un-offending as possible. And while the second half got a little muddled for me, the first part was pretty clear. It seems that they thought their problem was distance. And then when they were in the same place together, they still found that the relationship wasn’t exactly right. [ madamenoire ] Sarah Palin Fried Online For Shot At Colin Kaepernick’s Meals On Wheels Donation Sarah Palin, the former governor of Alaska and past Vice Presidential candidate, has entered the media fray once more but perhaps not in the way she probably appreciates. Palin took a swipe at NFL player Colin Kaepernick‘s recent Meals On Wheels donation and people on social media have been giving her the business. Over on Sarah Palin’s website, which we won’t be linking to, she posted a link to an article by Mary Kate Knorr that labeled Kaepernick’s $50,000 donation to the meal delivery service a publicity stunt. Under President Donald Trump’s potential budget, the program could the federal grant it receives which makes up a significant portion of its operations budget. Over on Palin’s Facebook page and Twitter, which again we won’t be linking, she took another jab at the current free agent quarterback writing, “And he wonders why he can’t find a job.” Of course, Kaepernick is an enemy of conservatives and ultra-patriots over his refusal to stand for the National Anthem ahead of football games last season. The bold stance hasn’t just been criticized by those on the Right as liberals and others in the middle have taken shots at Kap as well. Palin’s digs didn’t go unnoticed and naturally, Twitter has been frying the former beauty queen since her unnecessary commentary. We’ve collected some of the best below and on the following pages. Sanaa Lathan Dishes On “Shots Fired” & More! We caught up with stunning (and super sweet) A-list actress Sanaa Lathan at Lincoln’s extravagant “Luxury Is…” experience in L.A. where she opened up about her highly anticipated FOX mini-series Shots Fired , Best Man 3 , staying 40-FINE and more with a beautifully breezy energy that made us fall in love with her all over again. After a strong 20 years in the game, she’s done everything you can do as a talented Black actress in whitewashed Hollyweird and switched it up with a major mini-series that’s an absolute must-see. “It’s created by the creator of Love & Basketball and it’s a 10-hour mini-series movie and it’s all set in the world of Black Lives Matter. And it’s a mystery thriller and it’s gonna be so hot and people are gonna be on the edge of their seats and it’s relevant and it’s topical to what’s going on in our country today… I play a woman named Ashe Akino and she’s an investigator and I have to go into this world and solve these crimes that have to do with what we’re dealing with today so I’m excited for the world to see that!” She also exclusively dished on her upcoming blockbuster that sounds like an easy $500 milli at the box office. “I just got back from London shooting a movie called American Assassin with Michael Keaton and a really amazing young actor named Dillon O’Brian and it’s similar to the Jason Bourne type of movies in that it’s based on a big book series that’s very popular…these books, there’s like, yanno…several…like, teens…like fifteens of books and one of the things that’s great about this is that my character–Irene Kennedy–is a white woman in the books so this is like a big franchise movie and they hired me, as a Black woman, to play a white woman character.” Sanaa has played everything from a vampire superhero’s mother to the most hated female character in Tyler Perry movie history ( The Family That Preys ), but it’s her unappreciated role in Alien Vs. Predator that got us cackling like old friends. “I’m an actress and I love playing all different types of characters… I don’t discriminate between genres so I love doing that, it was hard work regardless of what you thought of the movie… it was a grueling, challenging, FUN experience for me -Bossip: And you survived!- “*laughs* I survived as a Black woman…they slept on ( Alien Vs. Predator ) because, at that time, especially, every Black person in every scary movie was getting killed immediately and I not only survived, I was the last survivor and that’s part of the reason I wanted to do it. I was like ‘oh, I’m not gonna be another pawn in this movie that dies first or second…” For months, there were loud whispers about the third and final chapter of the beloved Best Man franchise but, according to Sanaa, it’s…not a go just yet. “We don’t have a start date for Best Man because everybody from Terrence to me, Nia, Taye we’re all doing…Regina…we’re all doing different things right now. The script is not quite finished. There’s been a lot of press which I love because it means people are excited but, no, we haven’t filmed it yet so who knows when that’s gonna happen. Fingers crossed.” Of course she touched on how she deals with industry rumors and gossip (that we’ve sometimes posted). “It goes with the territory you just gotta roll with it. I mean, sometimes it gets to you and, yanno, sometimes you laugh, sometimes it’s like UGH! It’s a kick in the stomach but, you know what, it’s part of the territory. I learned a loooong time ago from my mother if they’re not talkin about you then you aint doin nothin” You know we couldn’t let Sanaa go without asking how she stays 40-FINE at 45. “I think that beauty comes from inside and when you’re truly happy and you’re passionate about your life, it shines through. Period, end of story. And obviously we have to do things like take care of ourselves, the more you take care of yourself, the better you feel and the better you look.” Shots Fired premieres TONIGHT on FOX at 8 pm!
