The View Announces New Cast (Including a Very Familar Face)!

Hey! Look who is set to enjoy The View once again! ABC has confirmed the full panel for Season 19 of this ever-changing talk show, with Joy Behar officially on board to return as a full-time host. The comedian will be joined at the table by returning stars Whoopi Goldberg, Michelle Collins and Raven-Symoné. Newcomers, meanwhile, will iclude Paula Faris of ABC News and Full House actress Candace Cameron Bure, who famously clashed with Raven-Symoné  over gay wedding cakes earlier this summer. “As The View embarks on a remarkable 19th season, I am extremely proud to see the legacy of smart and diverse women engaging in entertaining and thought-provoking conversation continue,” Barbara Walters, creator and executive producer, said via statement. The program, of course, has undergone countless cast evolutions over recent years. Rosie O’Donnell was around for a year. Then, she left. Then, she returned. Then, she left again. Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy were shown the door last year and then Rosie Perez lasted for just a few months as a regular. In addition to the aforementioned full-time hosts, The View will feature a rotating team of contributors that includes Shepherd, Top Chef’s Padma Lakshmi, What Not to Wear veteran Stacy London, Ana Navarro and actress-model Molly Sims. They all sound well and good… but here’s a look at who we’d have chosen to appear everyday on The View: View Slideshow: 11 Stars We’d Love to See Host The View

Can I be part of the team?” Kimmel asked. “I think I might make you campaign manager,” Johnston replied. As for potential votes from the family of two-time ex-fiancee Bristol Palin , he’s not counting on them. In fact, he says he’d be shown the door in two seconds. After his latest breakup with Bristol, he says, “I think they kinda kicked me out now … permanently.” Hey, at least some Alaskans aren’t fans of hers, either. Howard Stern: ‘I Won’t Work With DeGeneres Or DioGuardi’ On ‘American Idol’

Radio host says he’ll bring his ‘own people’ on board. By Jocelyn Vena Howard Stern Photo: MTV News Rumors about controversial radio host Howard Stern joining the “American Idol” judges’ table after Simon Cowell’s departure at the end of this season have been swirling for awhile, and Stern has discussed the talk openly on his Sirius Radio show . In his latest bit of “Idol” chatter, the shock jock said that he would only get on board if two judges currently on the show — Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi — were shown the door. “What do you want me to tell you? Listen, I won’t work with Ellen DeGeneres or Kara DioGuardi. If I go to ‘American Idol’, they’re out,” he told New York Post reporter Cindy Adams on Thursday night. “They don’t have an opinion. You gotta be with it, you gotta make the show happen.” Stern, who spoke Adams on the red carpet at the New York City premiere of “Green Zone,” didn’t name potential replacements for DioGuardi and DeGeneres, but he did say he would bring his own people on board. “When I come in there, I’m gonna bring a couple of people — my own people with me — and we’re going to take that show to new heights,” he added. “Someone sings bad, we take the trap door and throw them right down the trap door. I’m going to put an electric dog collar on the contestants, when they screw up I’m going to shock ’em. You understand? We’re going to talk a real show.” Stern also engaged in some public salary negotiations, telling “Entertainment Tonight” how much he thinks he should get paid . “I read in the paper that they want to give me $100 million to judge a karaoke contest, and that seems like pretty good pay for something as dumb as that,” Stern said. He also added his thoughts on DeGeneres’ first week behind the judges’ table. “Ellen has said she won’t work with me, but quite frankly, after watching her on the stupid show, I gotta tell ya, I won’t work with Ellen,’ he said. “She’s out if I come in.” What do you think of Stern’s comments? Journalist Fired After Exposing Crooked Practices Of Advertiser?

Plenty of New Yorkers are familiar with Sleepy’s, the Manny Noriega-esque monopoly on mattresses. They suck! And a longtime Hartford Courant consumer affairs columnist was fired from the paper, who they advertised with, possibly for saying and proving so. How’s this for small-town journalism

Alexis Cohen, American Idol Castoff, Killed in Car Accident; Police Investigating Possible Homicide

Alexis Cohen, who was ridiculed by Simon Cowell and termed the Green Goblin during auditions for American Idol, was killed on the New Jersey shore Saturday.

According to the The Asbury Park Press, Alexis Cohen, 25, was apparently struck and killed by a car in what authorities are calling an apparent homicide.

Deputy Chief Michael Mohel of the Ocean County Prosecutors Office reports that an autopsy revealed that the Allentown, Pa., passed away after suffering severe chest, abdominal and closed head injuries as a result of the collision.

Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into Alexis Cohen’s death, asking anyone with information on the hit and run to speak up.

Alexis Cohen provided one of American Idol’s most colorful tryouts.

Cohen rose to reality stardom after her 2007 American Idol audition resulted in a showdown with Cowell, who likened her to the Spider-Man character.

Alexis responded with a bird-flipping rant, in which she claimed to “march to the beat of a different drummer” while vowing to “leave with [her] dignity.”

Resilient, she returned to audition in 2008. Again, she was shown the door.
