Who Won The X Factor?

It all boiled down to talent (Melanie Amaro) versus heart (Josh Krajcik) versus energy (Chris Rene) on the first-ever American finale of The X Factor , with a major recording contract, $5 million and serious bragging rights at stake tonight. So, who took home the largest grand prize in reality show history? Following an electrifying set of performances by Justin Bieber, 50 Cent, Leona Lewis, Pitbull and Ne-Yo, host Steve Jones announced the winner as … … Melanie Amaro! Obviously stunned and emotionally overwhelmed just after Jones made the expected announcement, a choked up Amaro said only “GOD IS GOOD!!” And half a million thank yous. Simon Cowell said simply, “We came here to find a superstar, and we found a superstar … congratulations and thank you to all who supported this show.” Chris Rene got the chop first, leaving Melanie and Josh Krajcik in the final two. Before the results were unveiled, the two dueted on David Bowie’s “Heroes.” The first season finale then closed out with a performance by Melanie. She sang “Listen,” a perfect choice as it was arguably her strongest effort all season. What do you think? Did Melanie Amaro deserve to win?

It’s pretty sad that when I think of breasts on the X-Factor , I think of Simon Cowell’s man boobs poking out of his stupid v-neck sweaters, when I should be thinking of Nicole Scherzinger’s lovely chesticles. Here’s the former Pussycat Doll dropping some impressive cleavage at a press conference for the show. This hottie just belongs in a tight dress… Simon belongs in a supportive manssiere.

Simon Cowell on Paula Abdul: I Almost Tapped That

It wasn’t all an act, Simon Cowell told Barbara Walters on her Most Fascinating People of 2011 special last night. He truly didn’t like Paula Abdul when the two first worked together. “The truth was on the first two seasons, we couldn’t’ travel on the same plane together,” Cowell said during his ABC interview. “We really disliked each other that much.” But things soon changed for the better, Simon says. For the much, much, nearly naked better! Cowell said he’s “a million percent” sure that Abdul wanted him back in the day. Did he consider critiquing her performance… in bed?!? Yes, “but then I thought… I don’t think the after would be as good as the before,” he said. “I’d let her stay for a few hours, but then it would have to be good night.” Did Simon make the right choice? Would YOU sleep with Paula Abdul?

Mama Ev’s Got A New Man! “Braxton Family Values” [RECAP]

Say what!? Mama Ev is dating someone?!!  Last night on the “Braxtons Family Values”, the girls found out that their mom was jumping back in the dating game! Towanda and Trina grill their mom until she finally agrees to go on a double date with Trina and her husband.  While on their double date, Mama Ev and her new man reveal that they are quite serious, but later in the episode she mentions that they have decided to take a break. You go Mama Ev!! Meanwhile back in L.A, Toni asks her sister Traci to sing backup for her for an upcoming gig and asks Tamar to help teach her the dance steps since it’s been a while since Traci performed with her sisters. Toni has to remind Tamar to be patient while teaching Traci because as you know, Traci tends to be sensitive and Tamar can be quite the handful. Trina tells her sisters that she’s met cute author/actor, Hill Harper, on a plane and she has him call Towanda because they know that she has a crush on him (I mean who doesn’t..lol). The girls suggest that Towanda ask him to help her with her acting career and she realizes that the only way to get her career really started is to hire an agent. When it’s time for Toni’s show, Traci gets very nervous because it’s been so long since she’s performed with her sister and she has been begging her for an opportunity for years now and she doesn’t want to mess up. During the show however, Traci nerves cause her to sneak off but she later comes back to the stage and kills it! Get it Traci! Check out a clip from last night’s episode. Rachel Crow Breaks Down After Elimination On “The X-Factor USA” [RECAP]

Last night was an emotional episode of “The X-Factor USA” as one of our favorite contestants, Rachel Crow, was eliminated. Upon receiving news of getting the boot off the show, the 13 year old broke down and cried her eyes out, which I’m almost positive made everyone at home shed a tear or two, including myself.  Rachel broke down on the stage, and was picked up by her mentor, Simon Cowell as she screamed for her mother causing America to point the finger at Nicole who left Rachel’s fate in America’s hands.  Check out a video of Rachel’s elimination below. Rachel’s a super star and I’m sure that we will be seeing more of her in the future! Because of Rachel’s elimination, Marcus Canty was saved to move on to the next round. Both Marcus and Rachel received a ton of support from their Twitter followers who encouraged them both to keep their heads up! The competition is heating up!! Who do you want to win??

We have a new favorite cover of “Wild Horses.” On last night’s two-hour edition of The X Factor , Josh Krajcik delivered his best audition yet, showcasing his versatility with a restrained, piano-based version of this classic single. It was a 180 from last week’s rock ‘n roll performance and made it clear that Melanie Amaro won’t simply waltz to this year’s title. “You have the right amount of everything,” L.A. Drew Ryniewicz Makes Like Demi Lovato

Note to L.A. Reid: the song “Skyscraper” was written and originally performed by Demi Lovato . She’s 19 years old. What would you like Drew Ryniewicz to cover, a track from Sesame Street ? Following this 15-year old’s emotional performance last night, Reid contrived an argument with Simon Cowell by somehow claiming he continues to select singles for his pupil that are not age-appropriate. Why are you doing songs for old people? he asked in one of the more insane assessments of the season. Simon responded that his fellow panelist was coming up with “stupid, pointless criticism” and he’s right, but there’s also little doubt he encouraged this outburst beforehand. After a year and a half of dating and three postponed wedding dates, Ali Fedotowsky and Roberto Martinez broke up this month, a rep for the reality star said. The 27-year-old former Facebook employee and accepted insurance agent Martinez’s proposal on the finale of The Bachelorette ‘s sixth season in 2010. She and Martinez, 28, moved in together in his hometown of San Diego, and things appeared to be going well. That is, of course, until they weren’t. In the wake of of the split, however, Ali has already moved out of the home they shared, because “she’s actually really upset right now,” a pal says . “She’s devastated, and she’s just going to be laying low for a while.” Adds another source of the couple: “They haven’t been well for a long time.” “Their relationship has been tumultuous since day one,” another insider said, despite the outwardly happy appearance the couple was known for. “They’re either extremely happy or they can’t stand each other.” Our hopes are now with you, Ashley Hebert and JP Rosenbaum .

Astro Sort of Revokes Apology, Believes X Factor Results were "Jiggy"

Perhaps Astro is not so sorry after all. Less than a week after sulking over his placement in the bottom two of Thursday’s results show, and just a couple days after apologizing for his immature behavior , this 15-year old X Factor contestant is speaking out yet again. And he’s telling The New York Post the show was “punishing” him for an off-camera dispute in which Astro insisted on wearing Beats headphones even though the show has a deal with Sony. “I don’t see how you can have the most followers on Twitter out of everybody in the competition and get voted in the bottom two,” Astro aid. “So, I thought something was jiggy.” Simon Cowell berated the finalist, saying his actions last week showed “disrespect” to his mom. But Astro insists his mother was behind him all the way. “She knew what was going on,” he says. “She was tellin’ me, ‘Just leave. You need to leave and go home.’ It’s stupid, you know. But I told my mom, ‘Let’s at least try it one more time. Let’s get one more week in.’” Meaning, what? Astro will walk away this week if he’s again in the bottom pair? It’s unclear, but Astro defends his attitude by saying The X Factor is a “competition.” “We are all fighting to stay here. How you going to say I’m cocky? Muhammad Ali does this. It’s not cocky, it’s confidence,” he says. “Where I am from, I had to fight every day just to keep my name, Astro. I had to battle every day with someone on the corner. On the way to school, on the way everywhere… I am not backing down.”
