Will Simon Cowell Bring Auto-Tune to the U.S. X-Factor?

American Idol ‘s liege lord Simon Cowell sucked the life from American Idol when he fled the judging panel to take on the single venture that could possibly net him more money per calendar year: introducing his The X-Factor franchise to America. Sounds like a great idea — at least for Cowell, who will be earning significantly more on the music revenues end of the deal — but what about all of those American television viewers who have never heard of X-Factor or its most successful export Leona Lewis and assume (rightly) that it’s just another Idol derivative? Simon just may have a nefarious plan.

‘American Idol’ Producer Nigel Lythgoe Discusses Show’s Future

‘I’m reading so much baloney,’ Lythgoe says of rumor-filled search for new judges. By James Montgomery Nigel Lythgoe Photo: Stephen Shugerman/Getty Images Earlier this month, it was announced that Nigel Lythgoe would be returning to “American Idol” as an executive producer, ending a two-year absence during which the once-mighty show took a tumble, in terms of both ratings and cultural relevance. His return couldn’t have come during a more tenuous time for “Idol,” which has already seen the departures of iconic judge Simon Cowell , quickly improving Kara DioGuardi and, uh, genuinely nice Ellen DeGeneres . In fact, at the moment, the show has just one judge under contract for next season (that would be Randy Jackson) and has embarked on a lengthy, rumor-filled search to find two new talents to pair him with, with Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler and, until recently, Jennifer Lopez the reported frontrunners. Obviously, Lythgoe has his work cut out for him. Rumors abound that he’s contemplating a massive overhaul of the show, though in a new interview with Yahoo Music he kept his plans close to the vest while making it very clear that he believes “Idol” ‘s flagging fortunes can be reversed. “Listen, I wouldn’t be going back if I didn’t think the show could be turned around,” he said. “I do think if we put the focus back in the right place, which is on that young talent, [then] why wouldn’t it be successful?” Lythgoe also downplayed reports that J.Lo’s diva-like demands had taken her out of consideration for the “Idol” judges’ table, and cautioned that no one should believe anything they’ve read about just who will be joining Jackson on the show. It’s still very early in the process, after all. “I’m reading so much baloney in everything. There was something in the press saying Jennifer Lopez is a diva. That woman is in no way a diva, they don’t know what divas are if they think Jennifer Lopez is one. … There is so much rubbish going on,” he said. “My feeling is [the selection process] depends on the content of the panel, and the chemistry within it. I don’t care if they’re Romanian, as long as they fit in with the people around them, and we get a feeling that they know what they’re talking about. “All you want [in an “Idol” judge] is somebody who’s going to be honest with their decisions, not somebody who’s going to say things to be nice,” he continued. “And why would a star, in truth, want to come on that show and say, ‘You were crap tonight?’ because that star is going to be booed. … So it’s going to be really difficult. You just want honest people.” To that end, Lythgoe added that “Idol” might just choose a few lesser-known talents to serve as judges. After all, it worked in the past, and Lythgoe sees no reason why it couldn’t happen again. Such a move just might return the focus of the show back towards the contestants. “Don’t forget, when I started ‘American Idol,’ I brought over Simon Cowell, who no one had heard of, and a young man called Randy Jackson … and Paula Abdul, who a lot of people had said, well, her career is over,” he said. “And that was the start of a team that will be revered every time judges are spoken about. So it isn’t just about what you’ve done in your career, it’s about how you fit in with other people around you. And at the end of the day, it’s about the contestants and their talent, and it’s not about the judges.” Get your “Idol” fix on MTV News’ “American Idol” page , where you’ll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions. Simon Cowell’s Gold Digger in her Bikini of the Day

I like breaking up marriages….but posting bullshit on a site no one reads really don’t have the same effect as fucking a bitch on video and leaving the tape in the VCR like you’re a Justin Timberlake music video…. So here’s Simon Cowell’s gold digger and I guess she’s got a pretty hot body, one that you wouldn’t mind locking yourself into, especially since you know she is hungry for the good life, so she lets you fuck other girls and do whatever the fuck you want, cuz you can provide it…. I figure every billionaire 45 year old reaches the point in his life where he’s just fucked one too many whores, and he’s ready to settle down and have kids and since all whores are the same, you migour lifestyle, cuz that way you always have the upperhand….kinda like when I used to fuck teenage runaways with daddy issues and no where to sleep, I pretty much had my pickings and could do whatever the fuck I wanted cuz they were too high and disconnected to really care, but I like to feel like I was ballin’ and they were trying to ride my lifestyle, you know so I can relate…. I just wonder what Simon’s intentions are. He’s kinda gay and into himself and before seducing Simon with her tight body and fake tits…she was making 60,000 dollars a year putting make-up on the motherfucker, something his metrosexual ass is more into than he is into her pussy….not that I really care about Simon, but based on this long winded post about nothing, you’d think I did and that’s something I gotta work on….

Simon Cowell — Just a Little Off the Sides

Simon Cowell’s Gold Digger’s Ass in a Bikini of the Day

This bitch has won the lottery. All she has to do to collect is put up with Simon Cowell and make the motherfucker think she is real down with everything he does, stroking his ego properly, using her American Idol make-up artist skills to make dude feel pretty, you know giving him constant blowjobs, and sucking up to him almost hypnotizing him into thinking this is something his self-involved self could stick with forever, so that he marries her officially…cuz we all know she got into celebrity make-up artistry to meet celebrities, land one, and hopefully get him to commit so that she lives the good life and I am sure Cowell isn’t her first run with someone rich and famous, he just happens to be the richest and the only one dumb enough to marry the social climbing, gold digging, whore. There are a few rules I’ve learned in fucking whores. The first is that no matter how good they are at manipulating you into getting repeat business, never exclusively go to them, cuz the second you are sucked the fuck in, they own your fucking ass and you might as well just take off your condom and sign over your life to her…only to get broken 6 months down the line when you catch her doing the same thing to someone else, cuz it’s all she knows. Nigel Lythgoe Confirms Return to American Idol

One Brit is out and another is in. With Simon Cowell out of the American Idol fold, former producer Nigel Lythgoe – who left this post in 2008 – has returned to the show he helped make famous. He released the following statement today: “Working as executive producer on American Idol for its first seven years not only was an inspirational journey into the heart of American pop culture, it opened my eyes to the untapped potential of the incredibly dynamic young people in this world… I am elated and honored to be rejoining childhood friend and fellow executive producer Ken Warwick, and look forward to creating more magic.” Will that magic include Lythgoe as a judge? No. What about Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler ? Lythgoe would not confirm those rumors, but is on record as saying he “loves” Paula Abdul and would love to have her back on Idol . That wacky judge is under contract with CBS for a new dance show , however. No word yet on whether or not her pharmacist is changing networks with her.

Chris Isaak Being Considered For ‘American Idol’ Judge’s Chair

Fellow crooner Harry Connick Jr. is also rumored to be in the running to replace Simon Cowell. By Gil Kaufman Chris Isaak Photo: Stephen Lovekin/ Getty Images Auditions for the 10th season of “American Idol” already kicked off in Nashville last week, but there has still been no word on who will replace departed lead judge Simon Cowell come January. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the acerbic Brit’s chair could be filled by one of a trio of American musicians whose experience in the pop culture machine has given them plenty of expertise on what it takes to make it. Though they’ve been typically tight-lipped about who might be in the running, the Fox network has reportedly been set on finding a well-known music-industry figure to take over the lead chair, with names such as former Sony Music boss Tommy Mottola and Madonna manager Guy Oseary popping up in the rumor mill. But the Reporter said that it is “Wicked Game” singer Chris Isaak who has emerged as a leading contender after meeting with show runners twice so far in pursuit of the gig. The soft-spoken Isaak — who has also acted on shows such as “Cold Case” and “Smallville,” and hosted his Showtime series, “The Chris Isaak Show” — certainly has the industry background and camera-ready personality. But another crooner, past “Idol” mentor and amiable modern-swing singer Harry Connick Jr. , has also reportedly been considered. Though he’s publicly coveted the position and was “given the once-over” according to the Reporter, Poison singer and singer reality-show star Bret Michaels is said to be out of the running. “The Apprentice” boss Donald Trump has also reportedly lobbied for the job, though given his longtime association with NBC, the continued success of his signature show and his lack of music experience, he seems an unlikely choice. Adding to the tension, Cowell is casting around for judges for the launch of the U.S. version of his singing competition, “The X Factor,” and the long-simmering rivalry between “Idol” executive producer Simon Fuller and Cowell is said to have set off a tug-of-war over at least one desirable candidate that both shows are eyeing. A spokesperson for “Idol” could not be reached for comment at press time. Fox told the Reporter that no decision is imminent, but the network’s new entertainment chairman, Peter Rice, said he expects the new “Idol” judge to be in place by early September in order to take part in the audition process. Who do you think should replace Simon on “Idol?” Write your comments below. Related Photos Who Should Replace Simon Cowell On ‘American Idol’? Related Artists Chris Isaak
