According to Page Six , Ashlee Simpson has split from Vincent Piazza. The two were together for a year and a half. Reports are saying that the couple broke up over the Thanksgiving holiday due to increasing work obligations. Though the split is said to have been a mutual agreement, Boardwalk Empire star Piazza’s career is the one that’s been on the rise. A source said “Vincent has been working a lot, so he hasn’t been able to spend as much time with Ashlee, which has caused some problems. It was a mutual agreement to split, but things have been bumpy for a little while, so perhaps they might reconcile.” Reps for both stars have yet to issue a confirmation. The pair began dating in June 2011 after Simpson split from former husband Pete Wentz. Wentz and Simpson have a 3-year-old son together, Bronx. This breakup comes on the heels of Ashlee’s parents’ divorce after 24 years of marriage.

Joe Simpson pleaded no contest in his DUI case and will serve three years of probation, according to reports. He will also attend alcohol education classes. The embattled father of Ashlee and Jessica Simpson entered the plea to one misdemeanor count via his attorney Tuesday. A second count was dismissed. The 54-year-old, who has also been in the tabloids lately over his alleged trysts with Bryce Chandler Hill and Joey Anderson , was pulled over in August. He spent the night in jail after his arrest. A source said at the time that Simpson had had “a couple of glasses of wine at dinner with his wife” in Sherman Oaks (Calif.) and took a Breathalyzer voluntarily.
