‘Demi Lovato: Stay Strong’ Trailer: Must-See Moments

Documentary chronicling singer’s personal struggles airs at 10 p.m. ET/PT Tuesday, March 6, on MTV. By Jocelyn Vena Demi Lovato in the “Stay Strong” trailer Photo: MTV News & Docs Demi Lovato pledges to “Stay Strong” in her MTV documentary, the aptly titled Demi Lovato: Stay Strong,” which will debut on Tuesday, March 6, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. When the trailer dropped last week, fans immediately began to watch it on repeat. It lends insight and gives sneak peeks into what Lovatics will get to see and hear from the star when the full show airs next week. The deeply personal special follows the singer/actress as she struggles to confront her personal demons, while also focusing on her music career. “I wanted to do this documentary because I told a lot of my story but no one has taken cameras inside of my life and gotten to see what it’s like first-hand a day in the life of me,” she told MTV News on Thursday (March 1). “I thought it would be a cool opportunity for my fans to see what it’s like.” Before the show airs, MTV News is taking a look at several of the must-see moments from the trailer. Her Fans Demi opens up about the support she received from her fans during her personal struggles, noting that they helped her though her darkest days and still do. Her fans also talk about how appreciative they are of her openness and honesty. She even visits the Illinois treatment facility where she spent several months. She later says, “I’m not fixed; this is a daily battle. But I continue to work my butt off because now I want to be a legitimate role model.” Battling Her Eating Disorders The singer/actress makes her way home for her first Thanksgiving since treatment. Having dealt with eating disorders, she goes to a family gathering for a holiday that’s focused on eating. “I never thought that I’d be a role model,” she says about her public image. “When I first started in the industry, everyone just kind of made me a role model, and I hated that. I had so many issues underneath that needed to be taken care of. … It literally ended up driving me insane.” Getting Back to Touring She cut her tour with the Jonas Brothers short in 2010 when she went into treatment, and in fall 2011 she embarked on her first tour since leaving treatment. About the trek, she notes, “This time on tour I feel like I am definitely not taking anything for granted.” The special is named after two tattoos on her wrists that read, “Stay Strong.” The ink pays homage to her devoted fans, who stood by her side through her recent personal struggles through her return in 2011, when she released her album Unbroken. “It’s something that my fans were actually drawing on their wrists while I was still in treatment,” she explained about the significance of her tattoos. “Some people even got tattoos of it, so I wanted to show you guys that I will never forget the support that you guys gave me.” Don’t miss “Demi Lovato: Stay Strong,” debuting Tuesday, March 6, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Jennifer Lopez in V: A Foxy Boxer!

Jennifer Lopez may have flashed a nipple while presenting at the Oscars. But, in the latest issue of V , the singer/dancer/actress/ American Idol judge makes sure not to expose any other private parts: she’s donning a protective cup over her crotch. Why? Lopez tells the magazine she “thought it was more graphic,” while going on to explain how boxing is a parallel to her life: “I’ve always felt like a tough girl from the Bronx, but I have a soft core,” Lopez says. “I can take a lot of punches and still keep going. I’ve been trained like a boxer to go 15 rounds.” And she’s certainly been through a lot recently, of course, as Jennifer’s divorce from Marc Anthony made headlines for weeks. “We’re parents and friends first. That will be the thread that ties us together,” she tells the publication of her ex. “I don’t know if people expect it to be negative just because the relationship didn’t work out.” Lopez has been married three times now and has also seen a couple albums and movies go bust. But she tries to take each failure in stride. “You’re not going to hit the target or the bull’s-eye every time. That’s part of it. At the end of the day, I made those choices. I’ve been in the business now, I don’t want to say how many years. You have amazing moments of recognition and success. But at this point in my life, I try to take it all with a grain of salt.”

Was Michael Jackson’s Voice Faked For His Final Album?

They did MJ so wrong right before he died… TMZ has the scoop. Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris made a bombshell announcement to friends … telling them the MJ album released in the wake of the singer’s death did NOT contain MJ’s actual voice … it was an imposter. TMZ has learned … the announcement was made during an online video chat with several friends in 2010 … just before the “Michael” album was released, which contains several previously unreleased tracks allegedly performed by Michael Jackson. The video chat was recorded … and Paris joked about the footage eventually “leaking” to the Internet. Paris had made the announcement in the midst of rumors that MJ’s parts on the “Michael” album were REALLY performed by an MJ sound-alike named Jason Malachi … but both Jason and Sony denied the allegations. During the video chat, Paris played one of the songs from the album, “Hold My Hand” … and one of her friends asks why the singer doesn’t sound like MJ. Paris replied, “It’s NOT him … the whole album isn’t even him!! Go online … go on YouTube and look up Jason Malachi. That’s him!!” She continues, “I should know if it’s him or not because he would sing to me all the time.” So they were even faking MJ’s voice before he died? That’s wild. But we’ll have to see the actual video of Paris saying it because someone may have faked HER voice. SMH. Who can you trust these days? More On Bossip! Unbreak Her Mufuggin Heart!!! Eddie Murphy Has Been Chopping Down Toni Braxton’s Backs For Months Now!

Eddie loves him a bangin’ bawwwdy so this shouldn’t come as a surprise but for some reason we never figured Toni Braxton as his type, but guess he decided he could take a detour from his usual tall and manly shtick to chop down the singer. According to US Weekly reports : The singer, 44, and comic actor, 50, “are seeing each other and very into it,” a source tells Us Weekly, adding that the romance started up four months ago. The Tower Heist star — who has eight kids from previous relationships — even cheered on the mother of two (who’s been separated from singer Keri Lewis since 2009), backstage at her Feb. 19 L.A. concert. While Braxton’s rep insists “Toni and Eddie are just friends and have been fans of each other’s work for a long time,” the insider says, “Their kids have met and everything. It’s getting very serious.” In addition to first wife Nicole Mitchell, Murphy dated former Spice Girl Melanie Brown from 2006 to 2007, and exchanged marital vows with Tracey Edmonds in 2008 in a “symbolic” ceremony that was never made legal. Back in the late 1980s, Murphy was linked to another big-voiced R&B superstar: the late Whitney Houston. Braxton’s search for love after her split from Lewis was a major plot point in the most recent season of her reality show Braxton Family Values. Congratulations and best of luck to them. Justin Bieber vs. Joustin’ Beaver: Who Will Win?

It is totally on between Justin Bieber and an animated beaver. Two weeks after attorneys for the singer sent a cease-and-desist letter to RC3, the makers of a video game titled “Joustin Beaver,” that company has fired back , alleging that its creation does NOT violate Bieber’s trademark claims. “The App, a video game, is a parody of the commercial success of the Defendant and any celebrity,” RC3 states in its lawsuit, going on to detail the game, which hilariously included “Otter-graphs.” By admitting the game is a reflection on Justin’s celebrity lifestyle, the company is aiming to convince a judge it possesses a First Amendment right to use the teen pop star’s intellectual property. It’s all a bit confusing, we know. Even more so for girls who got excited when they saw “Justin Bieber” and “Beaver” in this headline. We didn’t mean to mislead.

Cissy Houston to Revisit Scene of Daughter’s Death

Cissy Houston “won’t be at peace until she gets closure” in the death of her daughter, a source tells TMZ. As a result, this same insider says, Whitney’s mother is planning to actually revisit the scene of her daughter’s passing: room 434 at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel. Mrs. Houston will reportedly spend time along in the room, praying, thinking and trying to establish a spiritual connection with the child that left this world far too soon. This has been an especially trying time for Cissy and Whitney’s family, not simply due to the singer’s tragic death, but also due to The National Enquirer actually publishing a photo of the star in her casket.

Oscars 2012: Winners And Losers

From Emma Stone to Angelina Jolie’s right leg, MTV News relives the best and worst of Sunday night’s show. By Eric Ditzian Emma Stone arrives at the 84th Annual Academy Awards Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ FilmMagic The winners of the 2012 Oscars have already been announced. Those lucky men and women have already gone off, gleaming statuettes in hand, to jump from celeb-filled party to celeb-filled party and learn how to carry a champagne glass in one hand and an Academy Award in the other without spilling for the former and breaking the latter. But the official winners’ list only tells part of the story of Sunday night’s show. There were nipples that might have slipped, legs that poked bizarrely out and an ash-filled urn malfunction on the red carpet. There were front-runners who fell short and dark horses who pulled out unexpected victories. Who were the true winners and losers at the Oscars this year? Let’s take a look… Winner: Billy Crystal Hauled out from some cryogenic awards-show freezer where time does not pass and wrinkles are not allowed to crease one’s face, Crystal emerged onto the Oscar stage for the ninth time … and didn’t make us fall asleep. Much to our surprise, he was consistently funny (and at times, shockingly and thankfully, a tad mean), and delivered a bunch of LOL-worthy video bits. Loser: Anne Hathaway and James Franco Remember when the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences thought it needed to get all edgy, recruiting two hot young things to helm the biggest night in Hollywood? Hollywood, in turn, hated them. The ghosts of Hathaway and Franco’s phoned-in performances could be seen every time Crystal belted out a parody tune or a Borscht Belt zinger to the sustained guffaws of his audience. Winner: Jennifer Lopez’s nipple It was the singer’s most talked-about release in at least a decade. And it may not have actually, ya know, been released from beneath her dress. Loser: Angelina Jolie’s right leg ‘Cause, seriously, that was just weird. Winner: The screenwriter who made fun of Angelina Jolie’s right leg After the “Descendants” won Best Adapted Screenplay, Jim Rash (who also happens to be a series regular on “Community”) took to the stage and thrust his leg out in silent, searing mockery of Jolie’s prominently displayed body part. Winner: Emma Stone She can sing, she can bust into an awesome old-timey voice, she can make fun of Ben Stiller and he’ll just take it. The evening was filled with surprisingly funny presenters, but Stone’s shtick won the night. Casting directors, listen up: Get that girl a big-screen musical stat! Winner: Octavia Spencer Long an awards-season darling, “The Help” ended up only nabbing a single Oscar. Best Supporting Actress winner Spencer made the best of the opportunity, breaking down in tears during a heartfelt acceptance speech in which she thanked everyone from her castmates to the state of Alabama. Loser: Meryl Streep Though she won Best Actress — which, according to our estimates, was the 37th Oscar win of her career — even Streep herself appeared sheepish to have swiped the category away from front-runner Viola Davis. Winner: Sacha Baron Cohen Handed the gift of a temporary ban from the Academy because he planned to walk the red carpet as his character from “The Dictator,” Baron Cohen played the PR war game perfectly, releasing an amusing YouTube video before the show and then, after the Academy relented, spilling the faux-ashes of Kim Jong Il on Ryan Seacrest during a red-carpet interview. Loser: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences The academy not only proved it had no sense of humor when it banned Baron Cohen, but showed it had no spine when it reinstated him and ended up posting his image on the front page of its Oscar website. Loser: Michael Douglas While it was great to see Douglas out on stage and looking so healthy after his battle with cancer, everyone was disappointed that his dad wasn’t the one standing in front of the cameras. Then 94-year-old Kirk Douglas’ show-stealing intro at last year’s Oscars was bizarre and uncomfortable and kinda amazing. Winner: Zach Galifianakis’ inability to pronounce Zach Galifianakis’ name The white tux-clad presenter, perhaps reaching out to Michel Hazanavicius, his brother in unpronounceable surnames, butchered his own family name in the middle of a memorable bit with Will Ferrell. Winner: The women of “Bridesmaids” They may not have won an award, but their continuing bit about a Martin Scorsese drinking game was hilarious. And the fact that they were able to bring some humor to the shorts categories — comparing them to the male anatomy — was an impressive feat. Loser: Bradley Cooper’s mustache Cooper might be the reining Sexiest Man Alive, but his lip fuzz stood out as the night’s creepiest collection of facial hair. Loser: Bubba Smith Every year, a handful of beloved actors are left off Oscar’s “In Memoriam” montage. In 2012, poor Bubba Smith, who memorably played Hightower in the “Police Academy” movies and who passed away in August at the age of 66, didn’t make the cut. Who do you think were the biggest winners and losers of the night? Leave your comment below! The MTV Movies team has the 2012 Oscars covered! Seal on Post-Divorce Media Tour: Peeps Need to Know!

Seal is speaking out … about speaking out about his divorce. The reason he’s been so forthcoming about his recent split with Heidi Klum , according to the singer, is to promote his upcoming tour because we deserve to know. He’s generous, that Seal. “When you publicize your marriage as much as ours was, when you renew wedding vows, all those things … you’re painting a picture of an ideal relationship that people aspire to,” he said on the Australian radio show Fifi and Jules. “So, when it goes south, you can’t all of a sudden take the philosophy of a monk and decide to go for a vow of silence,” the singer continued . “It doesn’t really work like that. I certainly respect my wife’s decision not to talk about that, but I felt that people at least deserved some kind of explanation why that picture of the ideal relationship wasn’t what they thought it was.” Seal really went above and beyond full disclosure, though. Taping Ellen, Piers Morgan Live and Tavis Smiley within a week of the breakup and not nixing any personal questions, he seemed to almost relish it. Okay, that’s a bit much, but while most stars clam up in these situations, he did the opposite . Then again, the shows were booked well in advance. “It’s not like this happened and I decided the next week to go on the [shows],” the 49-year-old Brit told Fifi and Jules. “It’s a difficult time.” “The best that one can do in this situation is handle it with dignity and civility… I tried my very best to protect the general welfare of my family.” “My wife included. You would hope you can behave like adults and try and protect those who are most important in this, which are your family.” In his defense, too, he wasn’t exactly talking smack. The reverse, if anything. Seal said some lovely things about Klum. “I still wear my wedding ring, because I’m still married to this incredible woman” and “she is still, in my opinion, the most wonderful woman in the world.” A reconciliation looks unlikely , however.
