Lady Gaga is used to fending off those hermaphrodite rumors . Exhaustion rumors, though? That’s a different thing altogether. Days after crumpling to the floor in the midst of a New Zealand concert, Lady Gaga explained her alarming performance simply: “I was so jet lagged,” she said. She told the Australian radio show Kyle and Jackie O that she’s hurting , and “I passed out about three times on stage that night but I got myself to the floor.” “I’d rather die on stage than walk off because I was going to pass out.” Are the pressures of fame taking a toll on Lady Gaga? This isn’t the first time that Gaga’s whirlwind rise to superstardom has taken its toll. Back in January, she was forced to cancel several shows, citing exhaustion . One source fears that the pop star is suffering from the stress of her staggering fame: “She’s on the verge of tipping,” says the source. “She’s only human.” Not only human, but both a man and a woman, we heard! Still, the singer insisted that she’s feeling “completely rejuvenated and excited.” We’re psyched, because that means more Lady Gaga pictures like these.

Lady Gaga Breaks Records In Sales, Video Viewings

Gaga’s videos have exceeded 1 billion views online. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga Photo: Florian Seefried/ Getty Images Lady Gaga is having quite a week. After revealing she’s about to start work on her next music video for her “Alejandro” track comes news that she’s broken two records, one for video views and one for music sales. First off, the singer is now the only digital-era artist to top the 5 million sales mark with her first two hits, according to Yahoo Music . Gaga broke the record when her single “Poker Face” reached 5 million in sales after her debut single, “Just Dance,” accomplished that feat last year. The only other act with two songs at or above 5 million is the Black Eyed Peas, according to Yahoo. And if selling millions of records weren’t enough, Gaga also reached the 1 billion mark in video views. According to Mashable , with numbers and analytics compiled by Visible Measures, Gaga is the first artist to have her videos reach 1 billion views. Three of her music videos hold spots in the 100 Million Club, including “Poker Face” (374,606,128), “Just Dance” (272,941,674) and “Bad Romance” (360,020,327). Most of the streams are through Vevo and YouTube. Following close behind Gaga’s record are “Twilight” (980 million) and Soulja Boy Tell’em (860 million). Last weekend, Gaga celebrated her 24th birthday and showed off one of her gifts online. In a photo posted on Twitter , she held up a red teacup and wrote, “Nothing like a communist-red teacup to make for the perfect Birthday gift. Lady Gaga Says ‘Alejandro’ Video Won’t Be ‘Telephone’ Sequel

By James Dinh Lady Gaga Photo: Jon Furniss/ WireImage After the enormous attention Lady Gaga’s elaborate “Telephone” video has received, expectations are very high for her next one. The singer, who is currently on tour in Australia, talked with radio station Nova 96.9 FM and dished a bit about what she has in store for “Alejandro,” the third clip from her Fame Monster LP. “I’m so excited about the ‘Alejandro’ video,” she told the station. “Actually, we’re shooting it very soon and I don’t want to say who the director is yet because it’s going to give a lot away.” When asked her if she could reveal anything more, it was evident that she intends on keeping the music video’s concept secret. “Are you absolutely mad? I would never, ever tell you!” she laughed. “I would be more likely to lie through my teeth to you what the video’s about so that you could all be surprised. But I will tell you it’s not the sequel to the ‘Telephone’ video.” WWD reported on Tuesday that fashion photographer Steven Klein will helm the clip, but that information had not been confirmed at press time; reps for Gaga and Klein had not confirmed or provided MTV News with details about the video. For the moment, Gaga is enjoying touring Australia. “What mayhem in Melbourne tonight. More new ‘Diary’ clips show Bieber answering questions submitted by you, the fans. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber in “The Diary of Justin Bieber” Photo: MTV News & Docs We’ve been sharing sneak peeks from “The Diary of Justin Bieber” all week, and so far we’ve seen Bieber on the road, in interviews, doing his hair, performing live and now we will get some insight from the star himself. On Sunday at 7:30 p.m. ET, fans can get a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to be the teen idol as he travels the globe promoting his music. MTV News has been giving you some hints as to what you can expect from the special and here’s another: While in Europe on a promotional tour, Bieber sat down to answer questions submitted by fans. One question posed asks the singer what it’s like to go from being a normal kid to being a pop-music sensation. “It was pretty crazy — waking up one day just regular, going to school and then next day going out performing for thousands of people,” he said. “It’s pretty crazy.” And how does he feel about his screaming fans? “You know, it’s really crazy to just have so many fans and have them support me,” he said. “I really like it.” Bieber also shared that he’s spied a cute girl or two in the masses. “I’ve seen [girls] in the crowd that have been pretty, for sure.” Speaking of fans, Bieber offered that he’s had a fan’s mom do something really crazy one time to meet him. “The craziest fan experience has probably been … well, actually I was in America and there was this one girl’s mom that got a tattoo of the radio DJ’s face so that [her daughter] can meet me,” he explained. Justin Bieber Manager Arrested For Mall Incident

Police say Scooter Braun failed to tweet fans that an out-of-control November mall appearance was canceled. By Jayson Rodriguez Justin Bieber Photo: George Pimentel/ WireImage Justin Bieber’s manager turned himself in to authorities on Wednesday (March 24) to face charges of reckless endangerment and criminal nuisance, stemming from a scheduled Bieber mall appearance last November that turned into a stampede and injured one fan. Police allege that Scott “Scooter” Braun, 29, failed to properly control the situation at Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island, New York. A spokesperson for the Nassau County District Attorney’s Office confirmed to MTV News that Braun was in custody. As of press time, Braun — who also manages rapper Asher Roth — was awaiting arraignment before a judge. He faces up to one year in prison if found guilty on both second-degree misdemeanor charges. According to NBC New York , police at the time of the incident ordered Braun to send a message to Bieber’s fans via Twitter to notify his followers that the event was canceled. Fans of the rising teen superstar were waiting for Bieber to arrive at the mall, where he was set to perform selections from his EP My World, which had just been released earlier in the week. Braun, however, refused to send the message, police said. Instead, authorities contend Braun eschewed safety in favor of publicity. As things got out of hand, police said, Bieber’s Twitter still read, “On my way to Roosevelt Field Mall in Long Island, NY to sign and meet fans! I’m pumped. See u there.” After a representative from the singer’s label was arrested, a message from Bieber’s Twitter was sent urging fans to go home. “The event at Roosevelt Mall is cancelled,” he tweeted. “Please go home. The police have already arrested one person from my camp. I don’t want anyone hurt.” The crowd waiting for Bieber turned rowdy when bystanders incorrectly insisted that the singer had arrived, which resulted in a stampede that sent one young female fan to the hospital. An attorney representing Braun dismissed the characterization of events. “Absent Scooter having a Superman’s cape, he couldn’t have [tweeted the cancelation] any faster,” Ravi Batra told NBC. “As a result of his lawful compliance with police instruction, [we believe the DA] will dismiss the charges after reopening the investigation.” Bieber tweeted his support of Braun, who helped develop the singer and introduced him to his mentor, Usher. “You’ve got my total support @scooterbraun,” Bieber tweeted on Wednesday. “Wish you were here in Chicago with us #FreeScooter.” Related Artists Justin Bieber

Paula Abdul Reportedly In Talks For Flash Mob Dance Show

By Joel Hanek Paula Abdul Photo: Frank Micelotta/ Getty Images While Paula Adbul fans miss seeing her behind the “American Idol” judges’ table this season, there seem to be plenty of industry folks scurrying to find the right way to bring her back to the small screen. The latest possibility, according to Entertainment Weekly, is an NBC dance competition show that would incorporate flash mobs. Flash mobs, for the uninitiated, are typically large, unannounced spectacles in public places that, while choreographed, lead the audience to believe there is an element of randomness and spontaneity for the routine. Unnamed sources told EW that Abdul would team up with fellow renowned choreographer Kenny Ortega , best known as the director of Disney’s “High School Musical” franchise as well as the helmer of Michael Jackson’s final opus, “This Is It.” Variety reports that 3 Ball, the producers of the hit reality-competition show “The Biggest Loser,” are behind the show pitch. Since leaving “American Idol” last year, Abdul has been rumored to have her name attached to many projects, but nothing has been confirmed. After the announcement that Simon Cowell would be leaving “American Idol” after this season to adapt an American version of his hit U.K. show “The X Factor,” many thought that Abdul would be a natural fit to judge the new singing competition. But there has been no official word on that front either. Most recently, reports surfaced last week that ABC had been in talks with Adbul to reboot the famous television franchise “Star Search” — a show on which artists like Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears had appeared as children. By Eric Ditzian Justin Bieber performs “Baby” on “Late Night With David Letterman” Photo: MTV News Hours before Justin Bieber arrived at New York’s Lucky Strike Lanes for his bowling-themed My World 2.0 release party, the 16-year-old pop star stopped by “The Late Show With David Letterman” to bust out the album’s first single, “Baby.” After guest appearances by Ben Stiller and celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, Bieber came out dressed in a black leather motorcycle jacket and black jeans. Flanked by four backup dancers, Bieber shimmied across the stage as he sang. “It was very exciting to be here with Bieber,” Stiller told Letterman earlier in the show. “I’m not being facetious. People [outside] are screaming constantly. I felt great when I got out of my car, because I didn’t know Justin was on the show.” The 44-year-old actor and comedian eventually got the chance to say hello to the teen star. “Met Justin Bieber tonight on Letterman,” Stiller wrote on his Twitter account . “Told him to hang in there, things will happen for him eventually.” Bieber gave Stiller a shout-out on his own Twitter feed, writing, “I’m on LETTERMAN 2nite… Things got a little crazy with Ben Stiller. We took the bulls by the horns.” After the performance, Letterman said to Bieber, “Hey, how ya doing, buddy? Come on up here. Nice job!” Then, it was on to the bowling party, where fans had been lined up for hours to catch a glimpse of the singer. Going up against Nick Cannon in a head-to-head bowl-off , Bieber ended up coming away the champion. But there wasn’t much time to celebrate. Just hours later, the teen was up and ready to hit the next leg of his promotional tour. “Wow. Singer Amy Winehouse is regularly checking in to rehab in her bid to stay off booze. The 26-year-old star has been keeping in contact with the rehab center despite winning her battle with alcohol according to the News of the World . “Things have got too much for her recently and it’s important she gets some help to control her drinking. She has come a long way from a couple of years ago but there’s still a long way to go. Right now life in London is getting on top of her.” You never ever really “win” the battle of addiction so it’s great to see that Amy is hard at work and taking her rehab seriously.

Kelis Takes Her Dance Hit ‘Acapella’ To Winter Music Conference

Singer, who hits WMC 2010 later this week, says ‘Acapella’ is a ‘really great song to perform.’ By Steven Roberts Kelis Photo: MTV News When Kelis ‘ newest single, “Acapella,” topped the Billboard Dance & Club Songs chart earlier this month, it was the singer’s first chart-topper since 2003’s “Milkshake.” Oddly enough, it started as just a Dave Guetta beat she had lying around and a melody she couldn’t quite get out of her head. “I’ve known Guetta for a long time just as a DJ in France, just partying in Paris and just being out there,” Kelis recalled. “I didn’t even know he was doing a record until a friend of mine sent me some beats, and he was like, ‘Guetta would love for you to write something for his album.’ I just started writing to a bunch of them, and I just heard this beat, and there was no melody to it. It was just a beat. I just had this melody that came to me right away, so I just laid this melody down really quick and just forgot about it and kept moving and doing stuff.” Kelis said she listened to it every day in the studio and tried to write something to it. She said “Acapella” eventually came to her. She never expected much would come of it — especially not a #1 record. “I knew that I loved it, and I felt really good about it,” she said. “It’s exciting to see that people feel what you feel. That’s always encouraging. But I had no idea that that would happen that quickly like that. I just knew that the song felt really real for me.” “Acapella” is the lead single from Kelis’ newest album, Flesh Tone. The album, which she expects to be released in June, is her first under Will.I.Am’s Will.I.Am Music Group. Kelis worked with the Black Eyes Peas head honcho on her previous record and was impressed with his musical IQ. “There’s not a song you can mention or an era you can mention in music that he doesn’t know about or understand what made it that,” she marveled. “I think it’s key in trying to do something fresh. It just felt comfortable and felt right, and I haven’t been a part of a group since my first, second record [with the Neptunes].” She is also looking forward to performing the track at the Winter Music Conference in Miami later this week. “It’s great, because I think ‘Acapella’ is a really great song to perform, and for some reason my first singles are always a nightmare to perform live,” she laughed. “And this is actually really fun.” Stick with MTV News for more coverage of the WMC 2010, which kicks off Tuesday in Miami.
