We’re just days away from a new Adam Lambert single. The former American Idol runner-up teased fans yesterday with the reveal of the art work for “Better Than I Know Myself,” Tweeted along with the following photo: Better Than I Know Myself drops on December 20th! avail on all digital music providers. Happy Holidays!! The track will be off Adam’s upcoming new CD, “Trespassing,” which Lambert describes as an even more honest effort than his debut album. So when it came time to shoot the video for “After Midnight,” the second proper single from their Neighborhoods album , the guys wanted to go a different route — think less wanton destruction, a general lack of exploding cars and waaay less partying. Of course, they ended up going with the same guy who directed “Up All Night,” but that’s sort of beside the point. “We went through probably 30 different treatments for this video, and a lot of them were great, and a lot of them weren’t so great but [director] Isaac [Rentz’s] stuck out as a really cool idea,” Mark Hoppus told MTV News on the set of the “Midnight” video, in Tustin, California. “We wanted it to be something different than just a bunch of people having fun and having a party; we wanted it to be a little darker, a little more troubled, and Isaac’s treatment did that.” So while they’re once again working with Rentz, Blink’s “After Midnight” clip is shaping up to be a far cry from “Up All Night,” mostly because, as Hoppus explained, the song is about dark things — while still remaining true to the band’s roots, of course. “The song itself is about troubled love, it’s about damaged people who fall in love,” he said, “and the video takes place in a psychiatric ward, and this guy and this girl escape from their rooms and have a night of romance and passion and fun and wild existence …” “It’s about sex,” Tom DeLonge jokingly added. “It’s not, it’s not that tawdry,” Hoppus replied, laughing. “Why would you make it that cheap?” Related Artists blink-182

While Jason Aldean was the top prize-getter with six awards, including Artist of the Year, Underwood took home three, including Female Artist of the Year, and Music Video and Single of the Year by a Female Artist for “Mama’s Song.” Aldean was the night’s biggest nominee, tied with eight nods with the Zac Brown Band. The singer’s My Kinda Party swept up Album of the Year, Touring Artist of the Year and Single of the Year by a Male Artist for the album’s title track. He also scored Single and Music Video of the Year for “Don’t You Wanna Stay,” a collaboration with original “Idol” winner . Underwood and Clarkson weren’t the only twang pop “Idol” alumni to take home the Fender Stratocaster guitar-shaped hardware at the show co-hosted by Kristin Chenoweth and Trace Adkins. Last year’s winner, country crooning high schooler Scotty McCreery was named New Artist of the Year on the same day his debut album, Clear as Day went gold. The night mostly belonged to Nashville’s new school, as such up and comers as Thompson Square nabbed a trio of guitars — Single of the Year by a New Artist and by a Group and Music Video by a New Artist for “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not.” The Breakthrough Artist of the Year winner Chris Young also won Single of the Year for “Voices.” Grammy winners Lady Antebellum were named Group of the Year.
