Yesterday, we reported that actress, model and transgender activist Alexis Arquette had passed away at the age of 47. Alexis turned in memorable performances in films such as Pulp Fiction and The Wedding Singer , and she was the sister of famed actors David, Patricia and Rosanna Arquette. No official cause of death has been given, but a statement from her brother Richmond Arquette gave the impression that the passing was not unexpected. “Our brother Robert, who became our brother Alexis, who became our sister Alexis, who became our brother Alexis, passed this morning,” Richmond wrote. “He was surrounded by all of his brothers and sisters, one of his nieces and several other loved ones.” Richmond added that Alexis’ final moments were arranged in accordance with her last requests: “As per his wishes, we cheered at the moment that he transitioned to another dimension,” he noted. Usually when a celebrity passes at such a young age the assumption is that substance abuse or an accident were involved. In Alexis’ case, however, she was surrounded by family and friends and seemed to know in advance that her passing was imminent. Now, a former lover named Robert Dupont has come forward claiming to know the cause of Arquette’s untimely death. “Alexis was living with AIDS and she had an inoperable tumor and she had developed an infection,” Dupont explained to Radar Online. “I was told that went to her liver and throughout her body.” Dupont, who reportedly dated Arquette for “several years” in the ’90s, added that Alexis was “in an induced coma” at the time of her passing. Sadly, Dupont says Arquette’s final years were difficult for her: “She was working as an artist and living in an Actors Fund home in West Hollywood for people with HIV and AIDS. She hated it,” he tells the website. “People kept breaking into her apartment and they did alcohol and drugs. Alexis hated that. She never did drugs and she didn’t drink. “Her family offered to have her live with them, but she wanted to be independent.” A second source confirmed that was ill for several years, but remained focused on her art and her career despite her difficulties: “Towards the end she was in a lot of pain, but she was not going to give up,” the unidentified insider says. “She was holding on so hard at the end and she was such a fighter. Alexis was sick for so long.” The source confirms that Arquette never even dabbled with intoxicants of any kind: “I never ever saw Alexis do drugs — she never did cocaine, speed or anything like that,” the insider says. The Pitch Perfect couple exchanged vows in front of co-stars Elizabeth Banks, Rebel Wilson and Brittany Snow, according to People Magazine. The outdoor ceremony took place in Central California. Camp wore a Reem Acra gown with Neil Lane jewels, which Astin topped off by putting a Lorraine Schwartz wedding band on her finger. Alexis Arquette, a transgender activist and actress best known for her role in The Wedding Singer, has passed away. She was just 47 years old. Alexis, a pioneer in the LGBT community, was originally known as Robert. Her brother Richmond Arquette confirmed the star’s passing earlier today. He wrote in a Facebook post on Sunday morning: “Our brother Robert, who became our brother Alexis, who became our sister Alexis, who became our brother Alexis, passed this morning.” Alexis died September 11, at 12:32 a.m. “He was surrounded by all of his brothers and sisters, one of his nieces and several other loved ones,” Richmond wrote. Describing Alexis’ final moments, he said: “We were playing music for him and he passed during David Bowie’s Starman.” “As per his wishes,” Richmond added, fittingly, “we cheered at the moment that he transitioned to another dimension.” Tragic as the circumstances are, that’s an awesome, uplifting and inspiring attitude for someone about to leave this world. Alexis’ brother echoed that sentiment in his moving tribute: “I am feeling immense gratitude to have been afforded the luxury of sharing life with him/her, for learning from Alexis.” “For being given the gift of being able to love her/him and to be loved by him/her,” Richmond continued. “He was a force. Boy George, who inspired Alexis’ character in the 1998 hit comedy The Wedding Singer , posted a tribute online as well: “R.I.P my sister Alexis Arquette. When all was said, done and bloody, it was the very handsome Mr. Kahn (and his gorgeous eyebrows) who literally fell on his own sword axe. Mariah Carey’s Sister Allison Caught Up In Online Prostitution Ring Mariah Carey found out how much of a letdown family can be after her sister was arrested for prostitution in New York. Fifty-five-year-old Allison Carey, said to be estranged from Mariah, was caught up in a police sweep during an undercover investigation. PEOPLE reported that although the two had been estranged for years Mariah has always taken care of her family’s finances. Allison’s bond has been set and she’s due in court next week. Via PEOPLE Mariah Carey’s sister has been arrested on a prostitution charge in Saugerties, New York, according to the Daily Freeman. Alison Carey, 55, was reportedly arrested by police in an undercover investigation at an unidentified Saugerties hotel. A police officer reportedly posed as a client, and Alison was arrested after “soliciting money in exchange for sexual favors,” according to the local newspaper. Saugerties Police Chief Joseph Sinagra told the paper that Alison told police she was related to the star and he described Alison as “transient.” Police claimed they set up the sting after seeing Alison allegedly advertise her services online. A source tells PEOPLE that Mariah and Alison had been estranged “for years. “Mariah takes care of her entire family and I’m sure this is very painful for her,” the source said. The report said in one ad posted Friday, Alison wrote, “Im a pretty lady looking for guys who are looking to have some fun and get into a world of pleasure that other woman just cant provide two you.” Alison even referenced her famous sister’s 1995 hit “Fantasy” in the ad. Sinagra told the local news outlet that “based on their stories,” there could be cause for concern for people who had sexual encounters with Carey. He advised that any people who has sex with her in the past refer to their doctors, “particularly if it was unprotected.” Carey was arraigned in Saugerties Town Court and sent to Ulster County Jail. Her bail is set at $1,000. She is due in court on Aug. 30. Just a friendly reminder that nothing will disappoint you like family.
