French Montana And Drake Drop A Visual For “No Stylist” With Some Help From ASAP Rocky & Dapper Dan [Video]

Drake And French Montana Finally Drop A Video For “No Stylist” Fans have been patiently waiting on a video from French Montana and Drake for their track “No Stylist” ever since a snippet of the song was first leaked online so many weeks ago–and on Tuesday morning, that wish was granted. French Montana gave the people what they want by uploading a visual for his Drake-assisted track while everyone was on their morning commute to work, and the two rappers on the song are not the only ones to appear in the brand new video. Cameos from ASAP Rocky, Cam’ron, Luka Sabbat, Slick Rick, and Dapper Dan can all be found, and everyone looks like they’re having the time of their lives. When the song “No Stylist” first leaked at the top of last month, everybody was talking because of the blatant Kanye diss (“Yeah, keepin’ it G, I told her “don’t wear no 350s ’round me”), but this visual gives the track a life of it’s own beyond that one bar. You can always count on a video from French Montana and Drake to make you feel like you’re not really living life to the fullest, because they seem to be having a whole different type of fun. Different shots in the visual include: French riding around New York City with the top down and Slick Rick in his passenger seat, and when he’s not with the hip hop legend, Mr. Montana is posted up in front of the bodega with model and Grown-ish star Luka Sabbat. As for Drizzy, it looks like his number one priority is to get these bars off. You can check out French Montana and Drake’s video for “No Stylist,” which features appearances from ASAP Rocky, Cam’ron, Luka Sabbat, Slick Rick, and Dapper Dan below.

#ThrowbackThursdays * Slick Rick “The Moment I Feared” 1988

No one tells a story or has told a story quite like Slick Rick a.k.a. “The Ruler” , a.k.a. “Ricky Dee”. After being introduced to the game by Doug E. Fresh on the classic hits “La Di Da Di” & “The Show”, Slick Rick ventured off on his own to create on of the most famous albums in hip hop history. “The Great Adventures Of Slick Rick,” was in a class by itself. Ricky Dee’s storybook rhymes held your attention straight through the album with no guest features. Slick Rick’s imagination was unlike any other rapper in ’88, he told stories of the “Little Indian Girl”, referenced the Knight Rider car in “Kit (What’s The Scoop)” as well as the timeless classics, “Mona Lisa” & “Childrens Story”. Although he made songs about being “The Ruler” and expensive trunk jewels, he wasn’t too cool to not rap about keeping those jewels safe on his neck or landing in jail for trying to live the “fastlane lifestyle”. Why is it that Drug dealer rappers nowadays never get caught? Happy #ThrowbackThursday and enjoy some classic Slick Rick music! “The Moment I Feared” Listen Bonus Video “A Teenage love” Posted By Garnet Reid Follow on Twitter @Garnet_Reid Submit content to garnet@garnetreid.com Continue reading

Watching merciless beatdowns on UCLA administered by the Trojans is one of the finer things in life. Slick Rick has lost four times to USC now, but this 50-0 massacre is by far his most humiliating blunder as a head coach. He thought he could stand up to Pete Carroll’s Trojans, and he failed. He then thought he could take on Lane Kiffin, and again, he failed. He talked the talk; he thought he owned… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : TrojanWire Discovery Date : 27/11/2011 19:40 Number of articles : 2

Five Hip-Hop Songs That Helped Keep Us Out Of Trouble

Read the original post:

While many rappers preferred to talk about gang banging, drug dealing and cop killings, some took a high road to expose the world to the ghettos of America. These rappers probably figured crime doesn’t pay early on, and chose to create lyrical content that encouraged fans in a positive way. Here’s Hip-Hop’s top five songs that prove crime doesn’t pay. Slick Rick “Children’s Story” Uncle Ricky gave us a fairy tale story about a place where “the people wore pajamas and lived life slow,” but things quickly turn when two boys stir up some trouble. Grandmaster Flash “The Message” Grandmaster Flash tries to encourage kids to go to school or “your manhood is took and a may tag.” KRS-One & Friends “Self Destruction” This 1989 song spearheaded the “Stop the Violence” campaign that started in response to the crime/violence infested African-American communities. Outkast “The Art Of Storytellin’” Andre 3000 tells a story of his friend Sasha Thumper, a drug addict/prostitute, who ODs on drugs behind a school building. Nas “I Can” This song was specifically made for the kiddies, with a chant that encourages them to be anything they want to be.

Rock The Bells Lineup Adds Snoop Dogg, A Tribe Called Quest, DJ Premier

Lauryn Hill will perform her classic debut, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, on three tour stops. By Jayson Rodriguez Snoop Dogg Photo: Daniel Boczarski/ Redferns Snoop Dogg, A Tribe Called Quest and DJ Premier have been added to the 2010 Rock the Bells bill , joining a lineup that already includes such legendary acts as the Wu-Tang Clan, Rakim, KRS-One, and Slick Rick. As part of a novel concept this year, all of the participants will perform one seminal album from their catalog in its entirety, with the exception of Premier, who will instead lead a tribute to his late Gangstarr music partner, Guru . (The MC died in April of cancer-related causes.) Also joining the festivities is Lauryn Hill. The former Fugees frontwoman was announced as a “special guest” last month, but Hill’s involvement in the show was clarified on Tuesday (June 8). Hill is slated to perform her now-classic debut album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. The singer will be featured on the Los Angeles, New York and Washington, D.C. legs of the four-city trek. The Rock the Bells Tour spans four U.S. cities, kicking off on August 21 at the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, California, then making stops at the Shoreline Amphitheater outside San Francisco on August 22, Governors Island in New York on August 28 and closing at Merriweather Post Pavilion, in the D.C. area, on August 29. Among the albums set to be performed from start to finish are Snoop’s Doggystyle, ATCQ’s Midnight Marauders, the Wu’s Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) and KRS-One and Boogie Down Production’s Criminal Minded. Slick Rick’s The Great Adventures of Slick Rick and Eric B. and Rakim’s Paid in Full will also get a full performance. “That’s gonna be interesting to see these cats do some of the records that really bust hip-hop’s cherry open,” Raekwon told MTV News about the concept earlier this month. “I can’t wait to see this because I never seen it like that before. The concept is great. It gives fans the opportunity to go back and rewrite their history, go back and check it out, see what made dudes who they are. … This [tour] is gonna allow races to come together and have fun for one night. This is gonna be the event of events. This is gonna be the Royal Rumble of hip-hop. I’m sure that everybody is gonna come out and represent this. It’s gonna be right. I can’t wait.” Also filling out the bill are Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello’s side project with the Coup’s Boots Riley, Street Sweeper Social Club, as well as Murs & 9th Wonder, Wiz Khalifa, the Clipse, Immortal Technique, Brother Ali, Jedi Mind Tricks, Supernatural, DJ Muggs with Ill Bill, Big Sean, Yelawolf and DJ Rocky Rock. If you could choose any hip-hop act to perform their album in its entirety, who would you pick and which album? Tell us in the comments! Related Artists Snoop Dogg A Tribe Called Quest DJ Premier
