Birdman Blasts Rick Ross’ “Idols Become Rivals” Surprise, surprise… Birdman didn’t exactly like being called a snake and compared to a molesting Catholic priest in Rick Ross’ new song, “Idols Become Rivals” If you’ll recall, Rick Ross called out Birdman for mistreating Wayne and Khaled — as well as having fake watches, rented cars, etc. Sources close to Baby tell TMZ that he’s more than a little upset that Rick dragged his name through the mud in his song “Idols Become Rivals.” Basically, he feels like the whole thing is a publicity stunt for Ross, and he needs to put some resepeck on his name. We had to. Anyway, none of this is a response to the actual comments or explanation for why he did the things he did to Wayne and Khaled…but we guess that’s neither here nor there. Lord, this one looks like the start of another Hip Hop beef! We wonder if Birdman will take to the studio to let his feelings fly now that he’s no longer team Rozay… Prince William/Splash

Last night, REVOLT, the #1 name in music, returned to the heart of Austin, TX for an all day, jam-packed live music experience – #REVOLTHOUSE at the Vulcan Gas Company. One of the most highly anticipated events of the weekend, REVOLT HOUSE celebrated the best in music, featuring a one-night-only SWISHAHOUSE reunion with members Paul Wall, Slim Thug, and Mike Jones. The day was kicked off with an incredible performance by #BeHeard REVOLT Music Conference winner, Derek Farill. Neo-soul darling Ari Lennox kept the good vibes going with a performance of her single, “Backseat”. Young M.A. brought the house down with a hype performance of “Hot Sauce” and “OOOUUU”. R&B artist Ro James’ performance of “Permission” was a standout. Performances by Private Club Records (MadeinTYO, 24HRS, and Salma Slims), Pell, Little Simz, Nick Grant and PNB Rock also lit up the party. And new R&B/soul sensation Khalid drove the crowd wild with a performance of his smash-hits, “Location” and “American Teen”. The SwishaHouse reunion featuring Paul Wall, Slim Thug, Mike Jones, DJ Michael “5000” Watts, and surprise guest Lil Flip closed the night. The group performed their chart-topping hits “Still Tippin,” “Like A Pimp,” “Back Then,” and “Sittin’ Sidewayz,” and more to a packed house. A lot of people may not want to accept this, but Houston rappers really are the trillest in the game. Because they were on their independent grind long before many of us found out about them, Houston rappers have this sense of self that allows them to say and do whatever the hell crosses their mind, without giving two thoughts to what the rest of us might have to say. They are also very much about their money, and very aware of how to make, save and enjoy their bread. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule. But Slim Thug isn’t that exception. If anything he’s the textbook example. And while some of you may wonder what he’s been up to, he has a legion of loyal online and off-line followers who keep up with every joke, every lyric and every bit of advice. So when he jokingly said in a song that he wanted to write a book offering advice on How To Survive In A Recession, the fans held him to it.
