Whoopi Confirms She’s Leaving ‘The View’ After all the rumors and speculation , it looks like it really is a wrap for Whoopi Goldberg on The View . The show moderator confirmed to Wendy Williams that she’s over it at this point…and while she thinks the show is great, it’s time for her to move on and achieve some of her other goals. (Whoopi talks about the show at the 1:17 mark) “Because I have to go and grow,” Whoopi told the audience and Wendy. “I’ve got stuff to do! I’ve got movies I need to direct, I’ve got books I gotta need to finish. This was great and I love doing it. It’s been a while. They’re in their 20th season. They’ve been here for a while. They did this without me. I’ve been here for half of it but not all of it.” We wonder which way the show will head without Whoopi there to help reign Raven in. Will you be watching??? ABC/WENN
GA Officer Shoots Herself, Blames A Black Man Another day, another officer playing games with Black lives . This time, thankfully, no one was gunned down in the street…unless you count the officer herself, who decided to make up some grand tale about a black man shooting her and running off. Via AJC : An officer shot. A bullet stopped by body armor. A 10-day chase for an unidentified shooter. A newly hired Jackson police officer told a compelling story about what happened late the night of Sept. 13. After only three months on the job, Sherry Hall found herself immersed in a high-profile shooting, pitting a white officer against a black man. At least, that was her account of what happened. But she made the whole thing up, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. On Friday, Hall was charged with four felonies, including evidence tampering and giving false statements to investigators. After her account began to unravel over the past two weeks, investigators were left with little to conclude other than she shot herself, but officials stopped short of saying so Friday. “Cops are humans and they make mistakes, but this is not a mistake,” Butts County Sheriff Gary Long said at a news conference. “This is criminal.” GBI Special Agent Joe Wooten said Hall is on paid administrative leave after checking herself into a “private facility” to seek help. “Upon release, she will be arrested,” Wooten said. SMH!!! Just think how her made-up story could have ENDED the life of a Black “suspect” if some of her coworkers saw someone that fit her imaginary description… Seriously, what are the requirements to join the police force?? Lawyer Demands Eric Garner’s Children Take DNA Tests Before Settlement The lawyer for Eric Garner’s illegitimate child has demanded that the kids of Garner undergo DNA tests to prove that they are his before dividing the $7 million settlement reports The Grio : Lorraine Coyle, who represents 2-year-old Legacy Miller, made the shocking demand on Wednesday. During a hearing behind closed doors at the Staten Island Surrogate Court, Coyle demanded the tests because Garner’s name does not appear on the birth certificates for the other children. Jonathan Moore, the Garner family’s lawyer, seemed shocked by what he called an “offensive” demand. “Why do that when there’s no reason to do that?” Moore asked the New York Daily News. “Everyone knows they are his children.” “I don’t think she (Coyle) would have said this if the Garner family had a different complexion,” Moore said. Coyle has argued that she is only doing her “due diligence” because she does not believe Esaw Garner’s reasoning for leaving her husband’s name off the birth certificates. Esaw Garner said that she had kicked Eric Garner out of the hospital because he was “getting on my nerves” when she was going into labor and added that as for the birth certificates, “It didn’t make any difference to him, he knew they were his kids.”

67 People Have Been Killed By Cops Since Kaepernick’s Protest How many people exactly have been murdered by police since NFL star Colin Kaepernick decided to protest the National Anthem? A lot more than people are willing to discuss reports HuffPo : At least 15 black people have died during encounters with the police since San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick began protesting police violence by kneeling before NFL games, based on numbers compiled by The Guardian . Kaepernick’s decision to sit or take a knee during the national anthem first drew attention after his team’s Aug. 26 preseason game against the Green Bay Packers, when he told NFL.com that he was “not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color.” Since then, Kaepernick’s continued protest has drawn considerable criticism from politicians, police unions, pundits, other professional athletes and many on social media who have opposed both his message and his method of conveying it. But the problem Kaepernick wants to highlight has continued. And on Monday, it was back in the news again, after police in Tulsa, Oklahoma, released multiple videos that showed the fatal shooting of Terence Crutcher. Overall, police have killed at least 67 people since Kaepernick’s protest began, according to The Guardian’s database. Roughly 22 percent of the victims have been black. Police have killed more than 780 people so far in 2016, according to The Guardian’s numbers. At least 193 of those people ― or about 25 percent ― were black. Of the 15 black people killed since Kaepernick’s demonstration started, at least 11 were shot, according to The Washington Post’s tracker of fatal police shootings. The white officer who shot Crutcher, Betty Shelby, was placed on paid administrative leave while the department investigates the case ― another issue Kaepernick highlighted when he spoke out against police killings. Keith Lamont Scott Killed By Police While Reading A Book, Waiting At Bus Stop A disabled man was shot and killed by police today in North Carolina and their story isn’t adding up. According to police reports, they say the man was armed and posed a threat to the officers. His family however, says Keith Lamont Scott was disabled, and usually sits and reads a book while he waits for his child to get off the school bus from school. Here are more details from WCNC News . Police say they were serving an outstanding warrant when they came upon Keith Lamont Scott in his car. They say Scott got out, had a gun on him, and put the officers in imminent danger. Officer Brentley Vinson shot Scott. “Man was in his truck, reading a book waiting for his kid to come home,” said a man on scene. “Cops shot him, for nothing.” Emergency services were called to the scene where they transported Scott to Carolinas Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. “As is standard procedure with any officer involved shooting, Officer Vinson has been placed on paid Administrative Leave,” the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said in a statement Tuesday night. Officer Vinson has been employed with the CMPD since July 2014. He is African American. Scott’s daughter Lyric Scott came to the scene in front of news cameras to defend her dad’s character. She says he did not have a gun. @CMPD says he did. @WBTV_News pic.twitter.com/JwHMixy9m7 — Sarah-Blake Morgan (@SarahBlakeWBTV) September 20, 2016 Scott’s brother also let reporters know that the police man who shot him was dressed in plain clothing. A man who said he’s the brother of Scott said to NBC Charlotte this evening: “Just know that all white people are (expletive) devils. All white cops are (expletive devils, and all white people.” “He was waiting on his son to get from school and police came out with no.. he didn’t have on no uniform to determine if he was a police or not — he was an undercover and he just jumped out and yelled ‘gun’ and shot at him,” he told NBC Charlotte’s Tanya Mendis. “I think they shot him four times, I’m not sure, but he’s dead.” Hostility among the community grew quickly as word of what happened spread. A woman saying she was the man’s daughter posted a video on Facebook Live from the scene. “Shot my Daddy for being black! And look they’re just standing there.” As night fell, a massive crowd of people gathered on Old Concord Road, chanting in protest after another officer-involved shooting where an African American man was killed. “People get upset when we say ‘black lives matter, black lives matter,’ said a student. “But these are the people we have to focus on the most because these types of situations always happen.” BREAKING: brother of man killed in CMPD shooting says he got out of his car because he was armed & scared of PD pic.twitter.com/IgwsrLmfKf — Tanya Mendis (@tanyamendis) September 20, 2016 Something doesn’t add up here!
