He was popped by police on December 17th due to his alleged involvement in shootings and drug trafficking was discovered after an NYPD investigation. Via PageSix : An up-and-coming rapper is among several people arrested in an investigation into a series of gang-related shootings and drug trafficking in New York City. Authorities said Wednesday that Ackquille Pollard was taken into custody shortly after he left a recording studio near Radio City Music Hall in midtown Manhattan. He performs under the name Bobby Shmurda. A spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office says the 20-year-old Pollard is among a group of defendants named in an indictment that will be unsealed after their arraignments Thursday. The Brooklyn-born Pollard is best known for the hit song “Hot Boy” and for a music video that popularized a dance move called the “Shmoney dance.” The name of Pollard’s attorney wasn’t immediately available. Hopefully he hasn’t been really living his lyrics and can go free sometime soon!
SMH… San Fransisco 49ers Cut Ray McDonald Over Assault Accusations In the wake of recent high profile cases involving football players , the league is really cracking down on athletes behaving badly . The most recent example is Ray McDonald, who has now been released from the San Fransisco 49ers after getting into hot water one too many times. Via NYpost : Defensive lineman Ray McDonald was released Wednesday by the San Francisco 49ers amid an investigation by San Jose police into McDonald on suspicion of sexual assault. San Francisco 49ers general manager Trent Baalke said he informed McDonald and his agent by phone at 11:30 a.m. PST that the defender is “terminated.” “This is a situation that we can all learn from,” he said. Baalke said CEO Jed York and coach Jim Harbaugh also were involved in the decision. “We expect a lot from our players, hold them accountable for their actions,” Baalke said. Baalke said the 49ers notified the NFL office of the allegations against McDonald, saying, “This is a team decision.” San Jose police said Wednesday that they are investigating McDonald on suspicion of sexual assault. Sgt. Heather Randol said detectives searched McDonald’s San Jose home. Randol said an area hospital notified police late Tuesday night that a woman was seeking treatment. “The victim alleged she was possibly sexually assaulted a day prior,” Randol said. “Based on preliminary investigation, detectives secured a search warrant and served it at the alleged suspect’s residence in San Jose.” Randol didn’t immediately respond to follow up questions seeking to clarify the reference to the alleged victim saying she was “possibly sexually assaulted.” No arrests have been made or charges filed. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league is “looking into” the case. This is the second time in recent months that McDonald has been the subject of a police investigation. “This is about a pattern of poor decision making,” Baalke said. Harbaugh notified the players. Really?? Chris Conte Says Playing In NFL Is Worth Risking His Life Via NYDailyNews Bears safety Chris Conte knows how dangerous football can be to his life, but he says it is worth it. The 25-year-old defensive back told WBBM Newsradio in Chicago that if living out his dream of playing in the NFL means a shorter life span, then so be it. “As far as after football, who knows? My life will revolve around football to some point, but I’d rather have the experience of playing and, who knows, die 10, 15 years earlier than not be able to play in the NFL and live a long life,” Conte said. “ It’s something I’ve wanted to do with my life and I wanted to accomplish. And I pretty much set my whole life up to accomplish that goal. So I don’t really look toward my life after football because I’ll figure things out when I get there and see how I am.” Concussion awareness is at an all-time high in the NFL and Conte himself has experienced two concussions this season along with plenty of other injuries that has kept him out of at least three games. The 42-year-old co-host of ‘Live! with Kelly and Michael’ and former NFL star opened up about his personal life in a special interview with Barbara Walters for ABC. She quizzed him about his two divorces, his first from Wanda Hutchins, with whom he has two adult children, and his second from Jean Muggli, with whom he has 10-year-old twin girls. He said he learned a lot from his famously acrimonious divorce from Muggli, whom he met in 1994 while she worked in a skincare salon in Manhattan. They married in 1999 and divorced in 2005. ‘It was one of the worst/best things that ever happened to me,’ he said, adding that media coverage painted him as a cheater one day, then having a gay relationship with a friend the next. When Muggli filed for divorce, she made numerous accusations against him, including that he had beat her, cheated on her and even recorded her sister undressing. A judge ultimately dismissed the claims. ‘It let me get to the point where I had to learn not to care what anybody thought,’ Strahan explained. ‘So I also didn’t want to say anything and fight back to the papers because that fed more into it.’ He added that it also taught him to focus on what was important: his daughters. ‘I had these two little babies and I don’t want my little ones to Google when they’re older… and say, “Daddy, why did you say this about mommy?” I didn’t want that.’ he explained. ‘It was more important for me to take it and deal with it as a father than to put my – to say something that could hurt my kids in the future.’ Way to keep it classy, Mike. You can’t be serious… Philadelphia Tavern Writes “N-Word” On Customer Receipt A Philadelphia man received his hot wings with a side of racism over the weekend. After stopping by one of his favorite taverns for a quick order, he was horrified to find that the bartender had referred to him as a racial slur on his receipt. However, she claims it was all a “joke.” Via The Patriot News : Moore, 29, generally doesn’t look at receipts after he orders out. And he almost wishes he didn’t see the one he took home from Zembie’s Sports Tavern at 226 N. Second St. On a section of his electronic receipt that labels the check name, in print, the bartender, Megan Bonsall, identified the Harrisburg resident with a racial slur. And Moore, a regular of the tavern, said he doesn’t know the bartender, is insulted and will never go back to Zembie’s again. “It makes me feel like I’m just low,” Moore said. “A [expletive] is an ignorant, disrespectful person. It has nothing to do with your skin color. What would possess you to put something like that on a piece of paper? You don’t even know who I am.” Zembie’s owner Angelo Karagiannis said he spoke with Bonsall, and the whole thing is just a misunderstanding. After Moore walked in to order wings, he started to talk with some people at the bar, Karagiannis said of what happened. Bonsall asked a friend of Moore’s at the bar what his name is, because she didn’t want to interrupt him while he was in the middle of a conversation. That friend pulled up Moore’s Facebook page on his phone, and he showed it to her in an attempt to identify Moore, Karagiannis said. Bonsall saw on Moore’s Facebook page that he called himself a “sexy [expletive],” he said. And thinking it was funny, she identified him as such on the ticket, he said. Moore said Karagiannis’ account of the situation is false. After he ordered the wings, Moore said he drank a beer and watched football while he waited for his food, never engaging in conversation with others at the bar. Moore had called himself a “sexy [expletive]” in a comment feed on his Facebook page. And he said if Bonsall saw that, she must have found it while she searched his Facebook account to try to come up with an excuse for her actions. “Even if that is the case, why didn’t she put ‘sexy [expletive]’ on the check?” Moore asked. “I’m hurt by the situation, I am just a random Joe and she could have just taken the time to ask my name,” Moore said. “Racism is no longer behind closed doors.” We just don’t understand how the bartender could have possibly thought he’d get a laugh out of that.
