The art of getting high has gone to a whole ‘nother level Snoop Dogg Releases New Book “Rolling Words” Made From Real Rolling Papers How cool is this? Snoop Dogg has figured out a way for his fans to get high off of reading. The veteran rhyme-slinger, with the help of San Francisco agency Periera & O’Dell, has created a smokable lyrics book called ‘Rolling Words.’ According to psfk, the book features lyrics of the Doggfather’s classic songs like ‘Gin & Juice,’ ‘Nuthin’ Like a ‘G’ Thang,’ ‘Beautiful’ and ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot,’ among others, printed on rolling paper. The book cover was made out of hemp-like material with the spine doubling as a match-striking surface. In addition, the pages are perforated for easy tearing and sharing. A limted-run of the book will be available for concertgoers who attend the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif. The event takes place on April 13-15 and April 20-22, which Snoop is the co-headliner with Dr. Dre. Singer celebrates grandmother’s birthday in New York, live tweeting almost the entire affair. By John Mitchell Rihanna and her grandparents Photo: Instagram Enjoying a bit of a break after a hectic few months, Rihanna stopped by her grandparents’ apartment in Brooklyn, New York, this weekend for an intimate family gathering celebrating her grandmother’s birthday. The Barbadian pop sensation live tweeted practically the entire affair, beginning with a stop to pick up some wine and grub. Ever the expert in double entendre, Rihanna tweeted a picture of the sausage aisle, calling it her “fave section in Whole Foods.” She posted 21 pictures of the festivities, many with the hashtag #grangrandollybday. It’s been a busy and at times controversial 2012 for Rihanna, who has endured heavy criticism for her decision to add ex-boyfriend Chris Brown to a remix of her Talk That Talk track “Birthday Cake.” Brown remains on probation after pleading guilty to felony assault of the singer in 2009. But the only thing on Rihanna’s mind this weekend was celebrating her “Gran Gran” Dolly’s birthday with family and close friends. Ever the devoted granddaughter, Ri-Ri hit the kitchen to cook up some goods before enjoying a glass of wine with her grandparents, who met in Guyana before moving to Barbados and later the U.S. Growing up, Rihanna regularly spent holidays in New York with her grandparents. The “We Found Love” singer even tweeted her grandfather’s confusion over her ever-changing hair color. “My GranDad: Robyn how ya is get hair from red to cream to black??? Cuz ya don’t carry wigs,” she wrote. “Ya does wash it out?! ME: ROTFL (no words)” It looks like Gran Gran Dolly got plenty of gifts and the family enjoyed cake and champagne as well as a fun game of dress up. Rihanna posted several pics of both her grandmother and grandfather Lionel sporting sideways-skewed baseball caps and heavy gold chains. The family visit must have been a nice change of pace for the always-working diva, who is prepping for the May release of her film debut, “Battleship.” She’s also still promoting her hit 2011 album Talk That Talk, and in a recent interview with “Access Hollywood,” she admitted she’s trying to work out a collaboration with her good friend Katy Perry. “We have been working on this for years. ‘It’s like the reincarnation and the birth of me becoming who I really am,’ MC tells MTV News at South by Southwest. Eleven solo albums into his career, Snoop Dogg insists that fans have yet to see the real him, but on his next album, he hopes to change all of that. “It’s a project where it’s more about the element of surprise, but at the same time it’ll be talked about in due time,” Snoop told MTV News this weekend at the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas. “It’s special; it’s a real special project to me because it’s like the reincarnation and the birth of me becoming who I really am.” On his 1993 multiplatinum debut album Doggystyle, the Long Beach, California, MC became the poster child for gangsta rap, while simultaneously fighting a real-life murder case, which helped add to his mystique. Through the years, Snoop began to slowly back away from that hardened street image and began landing notable endorsements and movie roles. His 2007 reality show “Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood” painted the picture of Snoop the family man. And with his next LP, the Doggfather plans to evolve even more. “I never really knew who I was through the music,” Snoop admitted. “I was always a very peaceful, kind, loving, caring individual and making music to symbolize that sometimes never was my key.” The global rap star doesn’t elaborate on exactly how the music will change, but it’s clear he has an eye toward the future, hoping to ensure some more longevity for himself. “This record, and this project will symbolize that and gives me the opportunity to step into the world of the stadium and then do those kind of songs that last 40, 50 years to go along with what I’ve already done,” he said.
